Maybe Lebda, for leaving for good.

And only for $50,000? I would have paid more.

#2003630 2010 NHL Awards Show

The GooGoo dolls? WTF??? is this 1997? I REFUSE to believe that this was the best band they could get.

Shinedown and The GooGoo Dolls. Budget bands much?

#2002109 Chelios to rejoin the Wings?

Anyone who threatens Bettman is a friend of mine :hehe:

He seems like a good canidate for an assistant coaching job instead of a front office job, but what do I know.

I can't see him as a front office person. It just doesn't fit. He needs to be on the bench screaming at refs when they make bad calls. And coaching or something.

#2000080 The argument for not bringing back Bertuzzi

Posted by MCleveland89 on 15 June 2010 - 08:28 PM

I dont get all the Bert hate. The guy pretty much ran the team when EVERYONE was injured. He plays decent defense, impossible to know off the puck, and likes to bang bodies every now and again. I love the guy and hope to god he stays, and id be happy if it were for another 2 years. I dont think another "cleary type player" will do much. Cleary was pretty invisible all year last year. I like him, but he didnt play like we are used to seeing him play. the only thing that cleary does better than bert is speed in my opinion.

I say keep Bert and try and get the best bang for whatever buck we have left. I'd love to see afinogenov here, but i dont think we wil have enough to get him, so try and fill the third or fourth line with a cheap free agent somewhere. Keep miller and eaves too in my opinion.

I don't get it either. Everyone is basically giving him the finger for running the team when no one else could due to injuries. I want Bert back and still have not heard a good enough argument to release him.

This thread makes me happy. I didn't realize how much love there was for Clears.

#1993235 Which Rookie has the best chance at cracking the line-up next season?.

Abdelkader is technically a rookie still, right?

He's technically awesome, I know that much.

Way too awesome for words.

#1991844 Improving by upgrading Todd Bertuzzi

I still don't understand the hate for Bertuzzi. And if he keeps playing like he did this season, I never will.

#1991636 CBC's Hotstove: Lidstrom to determine future within 7 days

Posted by MCleveland89 on 31 May 2010 - 02:19 AM

If Lidstrom wants 7.4 million, he'll get it. BUT we all know that this team won't be winning the Cup until he retires. Lidstrom deserves every cent, but if he takes 7.4 million, the team will look nearly exactly the same as last year. And the Wings in the play-offs didn't do well with this exact team. Hudler will not make a dramatic difference especially at almost 3 million.

If Lidstrom wants to win another Cup, he'll take 4.5. If he wants a pay-day, 7.4. He'll get it, he's made a lot of money already, why not take less?

That's pretty much how I feel about it. He doesn't need to work another day in his life and he'll be fine money-wise. I love Lidstrom and want him back. Would I like for him to take a paycut to bring some other guys in? Sure. Is he worth every cent he's making now? Absolutely. I'll take him at $7.4. I'll take him at $1. It doesn't matter.

I have no problem with the Joe. I'm fine with it for now.

#1988682 Whats the record in the NHL

Posted by MCleveland89 on 23 May 2010 - 09:31 PM

Hossa made it to the finals 2 years ago with Pittsburgh, then last year with Detroit, now this year with Chicago. So, does that make him a good luck charm instead of a curse? Those 3 teams have all had better chances of getting the Cup when he was there compared to the other 28 who were kicked out. I don't know man, but my head is exploding.
