#2333097 Where would you go?

Posted by Hell Toupee on 31 October 2012 - 07:14 AM

Keep in mind hockey players already travel a lot and have been a lot of different places. They spend most of the year away from their families as they don't have a normal life as we know it. I think a lot of them would want to stay close to their family. We've seen that with a lot of Europeans going overseas. Dats went to Russia. Fil went to Finland. Ericsson went to Sweden. Z went kind of to Sweden. Quincy went to Denver.

So Z kind of went to Sweden?
Like a US citizen moving to Mexico is kind of staying at home?

#2214029 Report: Pre-season Fighting Lowest in More Than a Decade

Posted by Hell Toupee on 10 October 2011 - 09:34 PM

Man, I never realized there were that many neuro-surgeons and psychologists in here.

That's absolutely amazing!

Opinions and assholes, and the other way around.
Are you really filled with that much belief in yourselves, that you think your uneducated guess bears any weight? Really?
Not one of us knows what caused what effect, or if the effect is the cause, so maybe we should stop with the wild guessing-games?

Sometime we might have a clear-cut answer as to what led to these untimely deaths, but it sure as hell won't spring from
a thread on a message board.

Really, you and I know nothing of what the cause is. So what's the argument?
It's all guesses, from people with little to no insight.
It's dumb.

None of us KNOW s*** about it.

Leave it to those who actually know what to look for, and know how to interpret the facts.

You know, doctors, professors, etc.

You know, the people with all of the tools none of us have... You know, EXPERTS.
With Machines and s***!

Sweet Jesus on his Tyranosaurus.
You know nothing. As do I.

Calm down.
At least stop arguing a point for which you have NO proof.

#2209583 Matt Cooke already!

I heard that Matt Cooke enjoys pushing elderly women in wheelchairs down a flight of steps.

I heard he stampedes the elderly and punts kittens. Might just be a rumor though.

I Love A2Y.
My god, you seem to take their s*** seriously.
Really? Really?

It's just humor.
I'm not saying you don't get it (but you don't), I'm just saying it might not be your cup of tea.
If people don't like Red Wings fans because of that blog....well, then they'ref****** dumb.
Point blank. Period.

A2Y is by, and for over the top, unabashed, unapologetic homers, and they will always admit it.
They don't pretend to be the voice of Red Wings fans across the globe, or the voice of reason.
It's all in good fun. They'ref****** around. Obviously. OBVIOUSLY.

Calm down or you'll never get your panties unbunched.
Take it for what it is.

#2148864 TODD BER-TUZZI ! TODD BER-TUZZI !

Posted by Hell Toupee on 14 April 2011 - 07:54 AM

"Red Wings forward Todd Bertuzzi had a good laugh Wednesday night when a reporter asked when was the last time he had heard his name chanted by fans at a game.

"Not in a bad way?" he replied, smiling. "Gotta be at least seven, eight years ago."

Bertuzzi received a standing ovation from fans after a brief fight with Phoenix's Rostislav Klesla during the second period of Game 1's 4-2 victory at Joe Louis Arena.

Bertuzzi was further rewarded with loud "Todd Bertuzzi" chants.

He dropped the gloves after Klesla chest-bumped him several times following a collision along the boards that ended with Klesla being upended.

"I didn't even have the puck and he took a run at me," Bertuzzi said. "I was ready to go. Unfortunately, I kind of slipped."

Bertuzzi has been vilified in most NHL arenas after his infamous hit playing with Vancouver on Steve Moore seven years ago, which made Wednesday's chants even nicer.

"It was pretty cool," Bertuzzi said. "It probably would have been better if it was after a goal, but, it was neat. Good fans here.""

#2074969 Daniel Larsson's comments on Osgood&Howard

Posted by Hell Toupee on 09 December 2010 - 09:04 PM

Mindfly is not exaggerating the article. At all.
If anything his translation toned it down somewhat.

He translated "sopade mattan med honom" as "heavily outplayed".
What it really means is"I wiped the floors with him".

And yes, Mindfly is 100% correct when he says that Swedish players tend to let go of their extreme media-training when talking to Swedish journalists.
This has always been true.
Forsberg, for example seems like he is very careful with his words when he's being interviewed by North American media, to us Swedes.
I know he seems quite outspoken to you, but that's compared to the rest of the well-behaved players. In Swedish media? You'd be shocked.
Same goes for people like Sundin and a lot of the other Swedish players. Even Franzén.
Douglas Murray would probably make you laugh in amazement.

You'd be suprised if you ever heard what Lidström has to say to Swedish media.
He's no loud-mouth to be sure, he's quite reserved, even for a Swede, but he'll lay the truth down.

#2032159 Kirk Maltby nearing 1 year, 2 way deal

I realize I'm only dreaming, but what if Maltby could teach somebody like Abdelkader how to get under other players' skins.
Maltby might still do good.

#2008530 The new TBL

Posted by Hell Toupee on 01 July 2010 - 04:45 PM

Granted, Yzerman is from way before I became a Wings fan, but I've learned enough to cheer for Yzerman.
Looks like I need to add another team to the ones I regularly watch.
Where will it end? I must have seen 150 games last year and I've only been a fan for two years.

Maybe a bandwagon-fan, but a friend convinced me to watch the 08-09 playoffs because I had a better internet connection and television than him.
I knew little about The Wings until then, even though I'm Swedish.
If you ever needed to try and convince somebody that they needed to, not only watch the NHL, but a specific team in particular, could you choose a better time than The Red Wings and the playoffs 08-09?

Well, yeah, with Detroit you probably could chose from quite a few times.

Rant over.

#2008375 Parents sue because kids suck at hockey

Posted by Hell Toupee on 01 July 2010 - 03:39 PM

This is obviously NOT what is wrong with the world, because there are things that actually matter that make this world f***ed up, but it's s***ty. Minor, but s***ty nonetheless. The parents are obviously as dumb as they come, but this is non-news.

What's wrong with the world?
Genocide, starvation, pedophilia, rampant profiteering, crime, incest, the legacy of colonialism, global warming, aids, warmongering, cancer etc.

Or s***ty hockeyparents?
I'm kind of on the fence with this one.

Give me a finger. Then you'll have a reason to type u instead of you.

This is about someone who publishes a blog, I wasn't calling out anyone here. Seems you don't have a problem with that though.

Of course your welcome to put me on ignore, I'm sure at some point I'll get over it.

Oh, the ironing.
