#2304142 Nick Lidstrom retires after 20 seasons

Posted by MibJab on 31 May 2012 - 03:23 AM

Imagine if we all performed as well at our jobs, like Lidstrom has? Imagine if we all could be such a great role model, like Lidstrom is? A man doing what he loves, almost to perfection. How inspiring. Flipping burgers may get you quick cash, but you want to be truly successful? Start doing what you love, to your fullest potential and you'll get there. Maybe we'll see another player as dedicated as Lidstrom was to Detroit Red Wings, and to the great game of Hockey....But his name won't be Nicklas Lidstrom.

Correct the title, "Grand Rapids Griffins make offer to Damien Brunner."

#2299630 The new guys thoughts.....

Posted by MibJab on 06 May 2012 - 04:10 PM

You must play alot of NHL on xbox? I understand where you are coming from, but bottom line is.. Lidstrom at 3 mil = insult Trading Datsyuk and/or Zetterberg = insult. As a respectable, classy organization, why would we treat our top 3 guys in such manner? Datsyuk and Zetterberg need players to play around them, we need not to replace them. I'm all for shopping Franzen, Filpulla, and at the most extreme, maybe even Kronwall or Nyquist...But I don't understand how you can honestly think Lidstrom is going to sign for 3 mil max, and Datsyuk and Zetterberg could be shopped. I saw the moon last night, maybe this has something to do with you're thinking methods.

#2297581 Detroit has inside track on Parise

Posted by MibJab on 27 April 2012 - 12:41 PM

The media seems to have blown this whole Parise / Suter to Detroit combo way out of proportion. I have a feeling we'll see either player go to other teams for an over inflated price. We're not building internally. If Nyquist is our top forward prospect... we are more than doomed. With the spike in physical play, small forwards are getting worn out and becoming less effective. Professional hockey is drastically losing skill and sportsmanship. So, why not follow suit? This is a business. The fans want to see heart, blood, and sweat...Give 'em what they want. Where's the meat and potatoes?

who cares? Nyquist couldn't compete in the Women's league. Lets solve our getting beat up on problem with another Hudler.

#2283510 Chants From The Joe At Game 3?

Posted by MibJab on 12 April 2012 - 12:19 PM

How about a go Verlander chant? Or a Pistons suck chant? Or maybe a "itreallysucksthatDatsyukhastoplayonalinebyhimself' chant?

#2283500 Shea Weber fined for Zetterberg "headslam"

#2283054 WCQF Game 1 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Predators 3

Posted by MibJab on 11 April 2012 - 10:23 PM

One year it's Malkin, one year it's Pronger one year it's Thorton, now it's Weber. Every year someone goes after our stars and punks em out, No one does anything. It's just a matter of time when someone comes along and headshots Datsyuk right out of the league. Wheres the class in sports? Better yet, where the balls on our roster?

#2282920 Shea Weber fined for Zetterberg "headslam"

Posted by MibJab on 11 April 2012 - 09:54 PM

Bertuzzi should have reverted to old ways, #breakamuthaf***asneck

Reasons for suspension.

1. repeat offender
2. direct intent to injure
3. so intimidating that no one on the redwings even thought about going after him

It's sad when Shanahan is still our only enforcer.

#2282858 Shea Weber fined for Zetterberg "headslam"

Posted by MibJab on 11 April 2012 - 09:46 PM

it was a good hockey play by a world class player. Zetterberg felt the hand on the back of his head and he threw his own face into the glass. 2 minutes for diving.

#2280835 For once I agree with Don Cherry

Posted by MibJab on 10 April 2012 - 11:14 AM

the media doesn't step on the ice and get 37 points in 22 games after being out for 15 months. Who cares that he's a whiny *****. He's a damn good hockey player, and thats all that matters. If he was on our team, we'd love him too. Stamkos can get 60 goals, but look where it got his team, out of the playoffs. Crosby has a cup ring and 2 finals appearances. He's got 609 points in 434 games. Oh yeah, he's 24.

#2272322 Crosby

Posted by MibJab on 20 March 2012 - 09:30 PM

Minus Datsyuk. I'll take Crosby over any other player in the NHL anyday. He's already got more assists than all but 3 guys on the Wings. He's only played 12 games. 4 points tonight. Alot more fun to watch than Franzen show up for maybe 20 minutes of actual game play a season and to see Zetterberg struggle to keep up, Hudler getting pushed around, and Emmerton doing whatever he does... Wings need a whole sale change. This is boring.

#2272305 So who could the Red Wings get in the offseason?

Posted by MibJab on 20 March 2012 - 08:45 PM

Semin has 18 goals this season. I'd rather keep Hudler...and I've never said that before.

I'd rather trade Zetterberg, Franzen, and anything else possible to get Ovechkin. Maybe he can become what he was in a different environment.

#2270799 Datsyuk says he is playing tomorrow

Posted by MibJab on 16 March 2012 - 03:36 PM

Dats is back? I went to NHL.COM and it isn't even mentioned.

Posted Image

The OP must be mistaken, the NHL always promotes the return of their star players.

He's not back yet. If Dats gets 2 points in his return then they might have a headline...Its not like Dats missed 90 games because of a broken dome like kid the sid did. All you haters made Crosbby famous...but in all reality, Crosby is the best player in the league, hands down..and he's still only like 15 years old.

I'm glad Datsyuk is back, but can one player solve a whole teams scoring issues? I guess we'll find out.. Maybe Franzen sits with his back spasms and Nyquist gets the nod, Bertuzzi-Datsyuk-Nyquist Fil-Z-Hudler Abby-Helm-Miller Holmstrom and whoever those 4th line guys are. Pretty solid looking lineup on paper.

#2270118 Call the team out

Posted by MibJab on 14 March 2012 - 12:42 PM

Im glad we have a coach that doesn't lose his cool all the time. He could be saying in post game "we suck, this guy sucks, the fans on LGW are right we need a shakeup." Then he would be losing the respect of his players and eventually be out of a job. A call out isn't what this team needs....what they do need is everyone healthy and in playing shape, and a few goals to add as well. Chill out mofo's, it's an 82 game season, and we have a banged up team. What, you think they're gonna win every single game? Fans should support the team, encourage them, be optimistic.. Everytime the Wings lose, its off with someones head... Obviously they care more about a healthy team, young guys opportunity, and long playoff run rather than busting ass to get the P trophy and being wore and tore by the time the postseason begins.

On a side note... has Hudler scored a goal in a game where the Wings didn't lose?
