Raffi appealed it, that's why it was reduced. In all of the major sports, appeals go through the commissioner and commissioner only. Any time a sentence is appealed, about 99% of the, get reduced.

signed Red Wings Sign Jordin Tootoo to 3-yr deal, $1.9M/yr
Konnan511 replied to Tim.D's topic in General
For someone who isn't a good hockey player, he had more points last season than in any season Eaves has had in the past five years. Tootoo isn't a goon. He can actually play hockey. Everyone ******* about not having a fighter or toughness on this team and we get a guy who is the epitome of that and people ***** because he isn't their favorite knuckle dragger. Get over it. He makes this team better and harder to play against. -
Still no decision from Suter. Speculation abounds.
Konnan511 replied to mtuhockey7's topic in General
The longer Suter waits to sign, the harder it is for me to believe its going to be with the Wings. -
signed Red Wings Sign Mikael Samuelsson to 2-yr, $6m deal (w/full NTC)

Don't forget Tatar. But then again....that'd lower our age even more... -
Jordan Staal traded to Carolina, signs 10-yr, $60m extension
Konnan511 replied to Salviaman's topic in General
Hudler and Val's agents must be salivating. Both out performed him and both don't play as many minutes. Terrible deal. I thought the point of these long contracts were to lower the cap hit. I'm assuming a five year deal would have netted him an 8mil cap hit? That's crazy! I'd rather have Staal than Hudler, but Filppula over Staal. I love Filppula but none of the three players are 6mil players. -

Heres two links for you to help you through these oh so difficult times. I can tell you're taking things very rough right now with the Wings already signing 4 players on the first day and already improving the team. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Mackinac_Bridge.jpg -
signed Red Wings Sign Jordin Tootoo to 3-yr deal, $1.9M/yr

All of our signings have zero baring on wether we get Parise or Suter. See, we can agree on things! -
signed Red Wings Sign Mikael Samuelsson to 2-yr, $6m deal (w/full NTC)
Konnan511 replied to Matt's topic in General
People's reactions are priceless. We signed 4 players on July first. One guy was coveted by every NHL team and has serious speed and shooting abilities. One guy was heralded as the next big thing for goalies. One guy is one of the best pests in the league and fights and is a heart and soul guy who just put up 30 points and one guy who is a right handed shot and loves to shoot and will put up 20+ goals. All of these guys were all had for less than 10mil and we've upgraded our team toughness, backup goaltending, speed, and scoring. We still have 15mil plus we can spend and that's not even considering trading any of our players or the 7mil extra we get from the soft cap. And we haven't even signed two of Parise, Semin, Suter, traded for Ryan or Nash yet. We improved our team and aren't done yet and people are already complaining. How spoiled are you brats? Go Wings! In Kenny I trust! -
signed Red Wings Sign Jordin Tootoo to 3-yr deal, $1.9M/yr
Konnan511 replied to Tim.D's topic in General
Hudler Is gone and we need to replace his goal scoring and we got Sammy for cheap. 30 goals at 3 mil is not a bad deal. -
Signed Red Wings Sign G Jonas Gustavsson to 2-year deal, $1.5M/yr
Konnan511 replied to Tim.D's topic in General
Can you imagine a goalie coach telling hasek when he entered the league that he either had to play stand up or butterfly? That's what the Leafs actually did to the monster. Hopefully he is allowed to play to his strengths here. -
signed Red Wings Sign Jordin Tootoo to 3-yr deal, $1.9M/yr

We finally got our toughness that everyone wanted. I don't mind Tootoo. Plus he took less money to come here. -
signed Red Wings sign Damien Brunner, 1-year (2-way), $925,000 + bonuses
Konnan511 replied to Matt's topic in General
It could technically be near a 4mil cap hit. But most likely between 525 and 975K with little or no signing bonus. -
Ilitch, Chelios to fly to Suter, Holland to fly to Parise
Konnan511 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Why does it piss you off? Parise said he doesn't want to meet face to face with suitors. Don't get mad just to get mad.- 79 replies

Shanny will get in, but this wasn't his year. It's the hockey hall of fame, not the NHL hall of fame. Bure and Sundin had marvelous international success and damn good NHL careers. I had those four getting in over Shanny (who will be a HHOF next year) so its not really much of a snub. As for numbers getting retired, Feds has a much better chance of getting his number retired than Shanny. Shanny was never THE man here while Sergei was. Plus, Sergei wouldn't be the first player to leave the Wings on bad terms and get his number retired.

Every team will offer him the same ELC with max bonuses. Which ever teams promise him a NHL starting job will get him.

Larionov in any coaching role would be magical. One of the smartest people, let alone players, in hockey.

No. Every GM is going to try and get Parise and Suter. It really boils down to who they want to sign for plain and simple. Everyone is going to offer them around the same deal, so like I said, it really comes down to the mindset of the player. Whether Holland gets one of these big names won't diminish his legacy one bit and he is already a HHOF GM. Multip,e cups and international success does that.

Top Swiss-leaguer Brunner to sign with Wings, Babcock has big plans
Konnan511 replied to evilzyme's topic in General
Grigs was on the fast track to being an NHL allstar and nearly died and was never suppose to walk let alone play hockey. If you're shocked that he wasn't as good as everyone pre crash made him out to be then you need to re-evaluate things. Leino was one of the main cogs that nearly landed Philly a cup. He's done alright. Brunnstrom's a flop, so I'll give you that.- 139 replies

Very nice pick. A top10 player before his concussion. Very Jurco/Tvrdon like pick. Loads of skill.

For Eaves to pot 20 goals he'd need top line minutes and power play time. He won't get both of those with the Wings. I love Eaves, but his rookie year is far behind him. He fits well on the fourth line.
