Perhaps Filppula, Kindl, and Tatar?
-
I would be surprised if Holland has not contacted Anaheim about Ryan.... with all the players being acquired yesterday, I have to believe a trade is a real possibility. If Kenny contacted Columbus on multiple occasions regarding Nash, then you can bet he has kicked the tires on Bobby Ryan.

Howard, prior to hitting the injury bug around mid/late season, was being mentioned for the Vezina. His numbers were that good, and he had to start more games because our backup situation was not working out that well. Howard is just as good as every goalie you mentioned. Islanders?

signed Red Wings Sign Mikael Samuelsson to 2-yr, $6m deal (w/full NTC)
SwedeLundin77 replied to Matt's topic in General
Yes we are so old... that's right. We just retired a 39 year old and a 42 year old, but we're old as s***! People just keep talking without realizing they are spewing garbage. The Wings average age with all current roster players as of June 2nd, 2012 is 28.35 years. Compare that to Pittsburgh... they come in at an average age of 29.32, even with their young stars. If I missed anyone, it shouldn't have that huge of an effect on the calculations: Detroit: Abdelkader, Bertuzzi, Brunner, Cleary, Datsyuk, Eaves, Emmerton, Ericsson, Filppula, Franzen, Gustavsson, Helm, Howard, Kindl, Kronwall, Miller, Nyquist, Quincey, Samuelsson, Smith, Tootoo, White, Zetterberg. Pitt: Adams, Cooke, Crosby, Dupuis, Engelland, Fleury, Jeffrey, Johnson, Kennedy, Kunitz, Letang, Lovejoy, Malkin, Martin, Neal, Niskanen, Orpik, Park, Sullivan, Sutter, Vitale, Vokoun. -
who's on the outs if we sign multiple forwards?
SwedeLundin77 replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
Nyquist may be gone in a trade to acquire Nash or Ryan.... if that's the case, I'm fine with it, given what we would be getting in return. I also believe that Abdelkader, Emmerton, Mursak, and Miller are expendable (Bertuzzi as well in some circumstances)... I want us to give Eaves a fair shake... I know he was injured all of last season, but Eaves has great upside and would be a great right handed shooting 3rd liner. I wish we could see the following: Parise/Semin/Nash/Ryan - Datsyuk - Brunner Franzen - Zetterberg - Samuelsson Cleary - Filppula - Eaves Abdelkader - Helm - Tootoo That is what I would absolutely love to see.... assuming Brunner works out and interchanging Sammy with Cleary/Filppula. Three scoring lines, and a fast ass grinding line. -
Incorrect... your thread headline reads like it is a legit rumor, where instead it is the musings of a fan, with wishful thoughts. Not saying this isn't possible, but the phrase, "likely" is far from true at this point in time. Again, if you have a legit source other than your brain, post it, otherwise, keep it in general discussion under the much earlier created Nash thread. Sounds like our chances of landing Nash are slim to none.... I think we're actually going for Ryan or another mystery winger...
-
How about next time you lead with this link... and post it in the topic that has already been created for Rick Nash trade rumors... This garbage headline is nothing but your opinion and not a rumor anywhere out there. If you have proof, post it, otherwise - keep it as an idea and not a rumor.

signed Red Wings Sign Mikael Samuelsson to 2-yr, $6m deal (w/full NTC)
SwedeLundin77 replied to Matt's topic in General
Exactly... we added a guy who is up there in age, sure, but also a guy who has a shoot first mentality and that is something that we desperately need. He adds scoring depth, he's adaptable from 2nd line to 4th line.... I feel a trade coming on. No one is thinking this, but what if we sign Parise and Suter, then trade Franzen or whatever for a d-man like Yandle... that'd blow peoples' minds. Just a thought. -

Depth.... I relish in the memories of the day we could roll 3 lines that could put up points.... those days are hopefully returning (to an extent). This is what I would love to see: Parise - Datsyuk - Brunner / Nyquist (Competing) Franzen - Zetterberg - Samuelsson Cleary - Filppula - Bertuzzi Abdelkader - Helm - Tootoo (I'd personally like to see us either let Abdelkader walk or trade him and give Eaves that spot). I don't want to see Eaves get the shaft just because he had one year injured, he adds scoring depth and can put up 15 even on the bottom two lines. Eaves/Miller Suter - Kronwall Quincey - White Ericsson - Smith Kindl Howard Gustavsson -

Moss has never accrued the same point totals or goal totals that Sammy has. 2 out of 6 seasons, he has amassed 17 and 20 goals, but never more than 39 points (and that was only one season - his one nearly full season (81 games)). David Moss: 317 NHL Games / 61 Goals / 63 assists / 124 Points / -7 Samuelssos: 669 NHL Games / 148 Goals / 194 Assists / 342 Points / +57 I would say the salary disparity is warranted... You're talking about 900k more for a guy who shoots far more, has a better +/-, and is familiar with the system he is coming into. -
And Suter has a much stronger defensive game.... no brainer.

It's Babcock's son... no big deal. Pretty sweet to get invited to scrimmage/practice with all those guys.
-
I would take Mueller in a heartbeat.... The kid is very good, and highly skilled. He has just had bad luck with injuries, but he is still young and I'm sure we could pick him up without breaking the bank, obviously. Of course, I mean this as a move if we cannot obtain Parise, Semin, or Ryan via trade.

So who is our #2 going to be now? Was Blashill offense or defense?
-
That would be awesome, but I'm not quite sure what we'd have to give up... from the sounds of it, I'm thinking offense, so I wonder if they'd take Franzen/Flip... preferably Franzen.
-
Yes, I completely agree with you, but it takes two teams to make a deal happen. If Anaheim doesn't like what pieces we have to offer, then no deal... and that is not a stretch to imagine that could be the case. You also don't know how serious they are about trading him. They could just be kicking the tires to see what's out there.
-
Unless Sheahan makes huge strides this upcoming season in GR, Jarnkrok is our best option from our crop... But I highly doubt, in the time it'll take to need that replacement, that we won't draft someone or trade/sign someone of significant stature as a bonafide #1 center.
-
Please just stop assuming things.... you're just coming off stupid. It takes two to tango, and If the Wings don't necessarily have the same pieces that other teams would offer, then no deal will get done. To think that Holland is not playing right now, is asinine. He enjoys his job, I'm sure he wants to keep it. Chill!
-
And I'm assuming you are referring to Sheahan and Pulkinnen? Nyquist is ready to make the jump now, and Tatar shortly after. Jarnkrok is getting a lot of praise and will only be 2 years out and Jurco could be up as early as next year... the guys is pretty damn good. I'm not concerned about guys coming in and taking the reigns, and we'll add players along the way via UFA. Just because Holland doesn't make a splash right now, doesn't signal the beginning of the end. A lot of people need to chill out.
-
What a classless bunch of dir-tards... Seriously Pen fans, boo at first, and then shut the hell up. We get it, they're your rival, but this isn't about the teams, it's about the young kids getting opportunities. Lord, I hate Pittsburgh...
-
Okay, Yandle for Quincey's rights (3-4 million when signed) and Hudler's rights (4 million). I'm just joking, btw. We'll never get Yandle, if they are in fact looking for offensive help.
-
Just speculation that we could get rid of White to guarantee Schultz a spot in the lineup.... silliness is all you're reading.
-
To be fair, I don't think the kid has come out and said anything to that effect... I think that's just what fans are saying to entice him to go here rather than there.
-
Smith, Tatar, and a pick... if they'd like a roster player (fit in White or Quincey's rights)
-
I like that idea.... but who would it cost us? I'm not sure we have the pieces to offer anything comparable.
