If this is what this type of player will demand. I hope Kenny sticks with the high end guys and lets the young guys fill out the roster. Gaustad is not worth that much money for what he brings to the table.

I have a bad feeling that we as fans will be very dissapointed with how things go tomorrow. The Wings have been slipping as a major power house in the league over the past couple of seasons and I think that is why Ken Holland has had a hard time making the big deal we all have been looking for. Elite players are looking for long term contracts with teams that are already loaded with talent that will be in the running for the cup each and every year. As others have pointed out, we lost 3 very impportant pieces this year and don't tell me that the UFA's have not noticed. Will fans panic if Ken Holland and co can't put together a team that will compete for the cup next year? Your damn right we will.

So if those saying that Franzen's contract is not that bad then he should be easy to unload right? Franzen is lazy. He is not streaky. But hey if he is so great and his contract is so good I say dump his ass and get someone that cares. For the same money Doan is available.

I think who's out really depends on who's in. If a player like Ryan or Nash is brought in we could see Franzen, Cleary, or Flip moved. I would move all three of these guys if it meant the right package back.

Will Ken Holland's legacy be judged on how and what he does this off season? He has never in his time as a GM of the Red Wings had to replace one of the best defenseman to ever play the game, to find a replacement for Brad Stuart, this all after losing Brian Rafalski a great puck moving defenseman just a year ago. When you combine his holes on defense with needing to reload the offense as well this will be a huge off season for the Wings and for Ken Holland. Gone are the pre cap days of simply buying the best team the owner can afford. I think Kenny is a great GM but this could be what he's remembered for. Thoughts?

I think if givin a chance Doan would take those comments back in a heart beat. I would take a player that gives a s*** over one that isnt interested in the regular season 10 times out of 10.

Semin and Doan for the same money as Parise? Tough call but I lean towards Semin and Doan for sure. 9-10 is way too much $
