I see what you're going for here, ie the Yankees fans will tell you that Babe Ruth was the greatest Yankee though statistically he was not. BUT he was bigger than life, had a GIANT reputation that preceded him and the fans adored him, just like Gordie. To the Babe Ruth end he was the greatest Wing and hockey ambassador while perhaps not the greatest and best ever at all aspects (Lidstrom).

Please, I beg of everyone with this petition, let Mr. Howe pass and let the family move on before you put the Illitch family in the uncomfortable position of probably NOT changing the name of the arena, especially since the Gordie Howe bridge is being built. I love Gordie Howe and the Red Wings as much as life itself but don't use his passing to pressure the owners right now and make them say something unpopular.

As someone who has learned far too much about knees from my own meniscus tears, a torn acl and a tear in the mcl in one knee, three years of PT and a partial replacement next month, I think the way Bishop went down is ACL related. Straight stretch too far down the middle. Not saying he tore it but his reaction tells me it's bad. -

Hats off to Lakeview, the cozy little barn on the shore of Lake Superior, that beat out a rink in Calgary to be this year's Kraft Hockeyville arena and they get $150K in arena upgrades/fixes and a preseason NHL game. I spent many many nights at Lakeview as an NMU underclassman enjoying those Wildcats. Dallas Drake and Jim Hiller, former Wings, both played there.

Nobody had done a thread on this series. This is actually VERY intriguing. I'm tempted to go Nashville simply because they get SO MUCH scoring from their D and in the playoffs tipped point shots reign supreme. All the Nashville forwards need to do is stay out of the box and hold the Anaheim forwards to a scrum and I think there COULD be an upset.

The Predatorials and their Fang Fingers are up 1-0 in Anaheim in game 7. They are playing an almost perfect series considering their lack of fire power up front and like I mentioned at the top, getting their scoring from the D. Plus, the Ducks are choke artists. Go Preds!

We need EXCITING players, screw it if they can play. Maybe Kenny can draft the next Petr Klima this year (he was exciting) to keep us all entertained for when we're being satisfied limping into the playoffs not expecting too much.

Well, suddenly are we in a position to turn down talented players who can help us score EVEN IF he has an attitude? Used to be we didn't have to give the Radulov's of the world a second thought. Unless we have some grand plan I'd say we have to kick the tires. -
