Josh Cooper of the Tennessean: The Predators still hope they are able to re-sign Paul Gaustad, though he’ll test the waters. Maybe we will look at signing gaustad for the 4th line.. I've got nothing against that.

Valtteri Filppula - we should get him locked up as soon as possible
amato replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
The whole leadership in filpula might have a lot to do with how he is in the locker room/off the ice as well and all that kind of stuff that fans don't see too often.. -
Hmm interesting.. Yea I guess I can see that now that I'm thinking about it. I just thought of it as more of a depth thing. I'd love to see Z-pasha-nyq on a line. I think if they worked together from the beginning this year, they'd blend really well together. Depending on what we do in the offseason nyq might be a couple years out of top 6 but I think he'll get there sooner or later. But yea, I think if Z and dats start working together, they'll find that high level of play again. Just my opinion I guess but its at least worth a try.

This is exactly what should happen!! Been saying this since they split them up.

I think that's well worth it. He's only getting better. Edit: sorry its early haha just realized it said more than but still worth it. Idk though he might take a little less than he could get. I hear he could be next in line for the C after zette.. Might take a little less than he's worth. Maybe not for 5 years tho -
i heard somewhere that his new contract would not have concussion insurance. not sure if that changed by now or not though but i'm sure we'll know soon..
-
Pretty sure smith an nyq were guaranteed spots as well this year..? I could be wrong.. Either way, I agree. I like smith better anyway. Hes big, young, good already and plus he's not afraid to drop the gloves. What's not to love. I could see smith having an amazing year. And if it's considered his rookie year (not sure how that works), I wouldn't be surprised if he was up for the Calder.. Edit: spelling ha

Eh not the end of the world. Yea could be a bust but he just seems like a bit of a drama queen.. I'm not worried.
-
I'd make that deal 10 times out of 10.. But if the devils are trying to dump a contract to lower their salery cap then I doubt they take on mule's 4 mill per season. Probly looking for a couple real promising prospects and a first round pick or more.
-
I'd rather put him on helms wing on the third than put helm on the fourth.

Exactly. I don't see us trading Filp at all. We've waited this long to produce how we knew he could, not just to trade him. He also sits next to Z in the locker room, indicating that he's going to have an A and will likely be the next C for a few years after Z's done unless someone more fitting comes along. I like Filp and he played great last season and we need him to continue right where he left off next season.

This. I trust him to make this team competitive though and our prospects are only getting better.. We're going to be competitive next year without a doubt and make a good cup run. No worries

I forgot about Filp.. Somehow lol Dats, kronner, helm, Filp, nyq Maybe zette ove nyq tho. Sorry I'm not really thinking too good today haha

a little more i've found on this.... BD Gallof via twitter: Source said the Oilers offered Sam Gagner and Magnus Paajarvi for Keith Yandle during the draft.
-
current roseter - Pavel, Kronner, Helm, Nyquist, Bertuzzi

Top Swiss-leaguer Brunner to sign with Wings, Babcock has big plans
amato replied to evilzyme's topic in General
should be a pretty solid huds replacement and looks like he shoots. i'm all for starting him in the top 6 at least for the beginning of the season and see what happens. hopefully we're not done with offense there.. fingers crossed. realllllyyy would love to see a semin-datsyuk-nyquist line. edit: spelling ha- 139 replies

Yea they say the wings have "significant interest" in yandle. just found this as well.. "Phoenix isn’t actively shopping him but they said they would listen to offers and they need an impact center in return," the source said.
-
I've heard the wings are actually one of the teams interested in yandle.. Tim Panaccio of CSNPhilly: Coyotes GM Don Maloney was canvassing for offers for defenseman Keith Yandle. The Flyers would be interested, but so would the Red Wings and others. Yandle has 4 years left on his deal with a $5.25 million salary cap hit.

I think they are just looking to rebuild a little and get some building blocks/prospects and he's probably worth the most in trade/they'd rather get rid of him over perry.. Just my thoughts but yea it seems like mostly rebuilding and Ryan has high trade value.
-
Yes! Fianally a positive post about the draft. Everyone needs to stop freaking out.. If nothing happens July 1st, by all means be pissed. But for now, I trust holland to make this team great just as he always has.
-
That would be absolutely incredible. It'd be kind of like when we got knocked out in the first round in 01 then turned around and got hull and robataille. I'd be so happy
-
Yea that all makes sense. I don't blame him really.. If I was in the NHL and had a chance to play with my brother, I'd want that too.
-
Turned down 10 yr / 60m? So is it greed? Doesn't want to play in Pitt? Wants to play with his brother? Hmm
-
Lol I was being sarcastic about loving huds. But I've heard we might be interested in Jagr if parise plans fail.. No surprise as we were one of 3 teams to offer him last year. "Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press: Jaromir Jagr interested the Red Wings last season, and will likely interest them again this year. They offered him $2.5 million last year before he signed for $3.3 million with the Flyers. The Wings want to add a top 6 forward, and if they can’t land Zach Parise, Jagr could be part of their backup plan. The Red Wings would like to re-sign Jiri Hudler, but he may test free agency."
