rrasco replied to Majsheppard's topic in General
Just got a text that GLI, OHL, and AHL tickets are available. This appears to be for the public. Nothing on Alumni game. http://www.ticketmaster.com/promo/4l9dlp- 143 replies

I know somebody who knows somebody important with the Wings and the word was Franzen was part of the offer for Nash. No I'm not kidding, I just don't want to get anyone in trouble. On that note, that only happened because we'd have offense coming back the other way. What is the rumor here? Franzen could be trade bait? We already knew that...Where are the goals being made up?

Such a tease. Such, a, tease...

That picture is awesome. I don't remember that.

I had no idea. I think it's kind of odd that we have two 'Scotty Bowmans' in Wings' history. Wonder if there is any relation?

signed Red Wings Sign Jordin Tootoo to 3-yr deal, $1.9M/yr
rrasco replied to Tim.D's topic in General
To be fair, maybe I shouldn't have said I 'like it', but I am not going to complain about it. I'm a small guy, so if you come after me, I'm not waiting for you to get ready. You should have been ready before you skated over to pick a fight with me. Tootoo probably thought he was about to get the same. Let's be honest, there are much worse instances of sucker punches throughout NHL history. And I'm not even convinced he made much contact, if any on that swing. -

Ha. I actually like that. Don't skate up in my face if you're not ready for it. If you wanna go, let's go. I'm not gonna stand there and chirp about it...do the damn thing. Tootoo threw a good hit, Reaves took exception to it. He came looking for trouble and he found it. Don't get me wrong, I understand the whole not-drilling-a-defenseless-player-while-he-is-standing-there thing, but to me, Reaves was the aggressor in this situation and he was getting ready to do his own thing. He got what he had coming. -

Yeah, but can't you wait for when someone is pushing Z or Pav around calling them soft euros and this guy is just gonna skate up and throw down for them. f****** finally! -

And to think, I just fixed RWL yesterday. Although, I have no idea what song you are talking about.

I really hope that is not the case, but we'll see what the PA says about the new proposal the league presented today. In general, a lot of people think I'm negative. I like to think I'm a realist and it's not my fault that reality has negative outcomes that I happen to interpret.

Ummm....what season?

Tech-speak. LOL. I'm a network and software engineer, I understand how it works. And I noted the subdomain above. However, subdomains can resolve to different IPs as well. Just because they share the same domain does not mean an A record can't be setup for the subdomain. As a matter of fact, nhl.com resolves to 8.20.73.150 while redwings.nhl.com resolves to 63.97.127.34. It looks like all the team sites resolve to similar IPs on the same subnet, so they may very well be hosted together. sharks.nhl.com: 63.97.127.56 kings.nhl.com: 63.97.127.57 redwings.nhl.com: 63.97.127.34 I was just noting that each team has their own staff and responsibilty for their own site, while the content and other various aspects are probably overseen by the NHL.

You're assuming there is going to be any hockey to watch at all. You know, there is a resident streaming site around here somewhere. We're not sure how feasible it will be this year, though. Of course, once again, assuming there is hockey to begin with. I've never had the uncut feed for the Wings, but I have seen it for a few other teams. It's interesting to say the least.

I don't think the league runs all the sites. They may oversee them, but last year they were hiring a web developer for the Red Wings' site. The job was in Detroit and the place of employment was JLA.

This is starting to make its rounds, surprised it hasn't been posted yet...maybe it has. At any rate, enjoy... http://thetripledeke...ary-cap_24.html Embedded for easy viewing. If you like it you should hit up their site so they can at least get a hit out of it.

Each site used to have its own user system and forum which a few years ago was rolled into one larger system that handles the logins, etc, for every team's sites. Forums are still there, although I'm not sure they ever merged the content or started over. Ever since then my NHL.com logins have never worked the same. I can't even participate in many of the voting/contest applications they put out. Uniformity does make it easier to navigate the other team sites I am not used to being on. I know exactly where to find there schedule, roster, stats, etc. Not to mention the site is technically still nhl.com, it's just a subdomain. Detroitredwings.com does redirect there as well though.

I'm sure if they cancel the WC there will be enough advance where they don't spend millions building these rinks so everything would more than likely be moved somewhere else (AHL, OHL, CCHA) and/or cancelled in respect to the Alumni game.

Good read. I find it particularly interesting because the Adirondack Red Wings franchise was relocated here 10 years ago. Kenny played for my AHL team...LOL.

For laughs, Wings & Kings twitter-war, *merged*

IF there is a lockout, where will our players likely end up?
rrasco replied to dirtydangles's topic in General
If the NHL locks out, what does the AHL do? I know the AHL is their own league, but they are using players in the same system as the NHL. Do the NHLPA and the AHL have their own CBA?
