I think I'd like to get Hughes if we pick outside of the top 5. Pure homer on that I guess. Should be fun watching him and Wolverines tonight!

I don't really know.. The only thing I really want to see is NSH vs WPG. Gonna be a bloodbath if that happens. Cup wise, maybe WPG or NSH vs WSH or TBL. I'd like to see NSH or WSH win it this year if a had too pick. NJD is my long shot. I honestly don't want to see TOR, VGK, PIT, COL, BOS win it.

Z the next great Sweden to retire. Z gonna need 2 more season to catch Daniel, I don't know about Henrik. I think he plays one more season, finishes just behind Daniel breaking into 1000, guessing around 1010 points. The Sedin's still have little more than 200 games played on Z, which is kind of crazy to think about. I wonder if Bäckström can catch or pass Alfredsson. He'll be around 1073 if he can avg 70 for the next 4 years. Which makes him 34-35 I think.

Very early, but any hype around 2019 draft class? I'd expect us to finish bottom 10 for few more seasons, just wondering. ( hope to be wrong ) not to go off-topic but didn't want to make another draft post.

When it comes to if the Ilitch family cares about the Tigers more than the Wings it's hard to say. I've often in the pass felt the Mr.I tossed the keys to Holland and has put more attention into the Tigers. All while letting Holland run the Red Wings without a worry. I felt this pretty much happen after M.I put in real effort to get one of Suter or Parise. After this he just lost his steam, and honestly just got old. Which I don't really fault him for. About that time Mr.I was going all out with the Tigers, going after players like Prince Fielder who at the time was one of the best hitters in MLB. Along with some other huge signings over the years, all while letting Holland kick tiers. I think Mr.I just got too old too put the same effort into the Wings and Tigers. So he picked the Tigers. I think he still loved the Wings but he wanted that World Series title more. Tigers had two solid runs at it, but failed in the end. Oddly, the Ilitch faimly have let Al Avila (Tigers GM) more or less sell off vets and go full rebuild. Even trading JV for 3 prospects. I gotta wonder if Verlander is still a Tiger, if M.I is still alive. The Tigers right now are doing what most people around here want the Wings to do. Go full rebuild and tank it from day one. Trade everything even icon vets and let the kids play. Hard to say which plan will work in the end, being that MLB and NHL are too different beasts. I think in the end M.I proved he cared a great deal for the Wings. LCA has to be some kind of proof of that.

I am kind of the same way. But I can't stand losing to CHI, PIT and COL. Regardless if we are contenders or bottom of the basement. Anytime we lose to CHI mainly, I am not an easy person to be around for a few hours. And something about losing on a Sunday when we have a Noon to 3:00 pm games also get's under my skin for the day.

Anyone know if any goalies look good to take late in the 1st? or early 2nd? I've heard alot about Forwards and D. Nothing about goalies.

I don't see a team that would be willing to take his salary. Maybe to ARI to help them sell more seats and keep them at the cap floor. Maybe.. Seattle if he continues to fall. I don't doubt he has a NTC.

I am not sure if people around here put much stock in TSN Craig's List. But Craig Button has Svechnikov 4th now. https://www.tsn.ca/craig-s-list-dahlin-cemented-top-status-at-world-juniors-1.962249 Svecnikov was sitting 2nd I think for most of this year and the 2nd half of last year. I wonder if he could really fall out of the top 3. I wonder if we could get lucky and get him 4 if we get a bit of lottery luck. I doubt it tho. I mainly use TSN when I look up ranking for draft prospects myself. Craig been fairly decent in the pass I'd say. I think we will have anywhere from 6th - 10th pick in the draft. I like what I hear and seen from Hughes. I am also a MI fan, so I could be a bit bias. I've seen him ranked around 5th -13th whenever I've googled up on him, mainly 6-8th. I think we have a good chance at Hughes.
