So am I correct in my understanding that there are no official talks scheduled for this week, but there is an owners meeting scheduled for next week to affirm support for a lockout? I wish I was at the point to say I don't give a s***, but I'd be lying. I'll be heartbroken if we lose the Winter Classic because of this crap.

If I didn't already have a username, I would pick Waynario Helmdrosov. Entire hockey clubs would cower before me. My perfection would be unrivaled. In the spirit of restarting a player's career to have it play out exactly as it did, only have them on the team now? Lidstrom with Yzerman a close second. How is that negotiating in good faith? Refusing to let the players play until they cave to every single demand of the owners? I have stayed away from this topic because the whole thing absolutely infuriates me, but this whole strong arm "you'll do what I say when I say or you won't do anything at all" BS is sickening. I'm pissed that I'm most likely going to miss yet another season of the only sport I give two farts about. I'm pissed that I got so excited for the Winter Classic only to have it potentially never come to fruition. But mostly I'm pissed that the rich get richer or take their toys and go home, while the rest of us who pay our hard earned money to support the sport we love continue to get s*** on. I really hope I'm overreacting and will have a major moment when the season starts on time, but more and more that's seeming increasingly unlikely...

I'm not usually one to start new topics, but after revisiting a long-standing discussion with my dad, I was curious as to the thoughts of everyone here. I have seen a lot of players come and go during my time as a Red Wings fan, and normally I am able to embrace every player that walks through the doors of the Joe with open arms. They become "ours," regardless of past team affiliation or douchebaggery. The one exception to this for me is my unending, irrational, fiery hatred of Brett Hull. I hate that he ever wore a Wings jersey. When he would take the ice, I would pretend it was Dougie Brown skating around as to not succumb to a Rage!stroke. To this day, I still roll my eyes when I see pictures of him in the winged wheel. I get people hating on players like Lebderp, and I get people spouting hatred when a trade is first announced or a player first comes to the D--but has anyone else just not been able to shake a ridiculous dislike for a contributing, well-respected member of the team?

This. Stop admiring your sick puck handling skills and watch where the eff you're going. I don't ever like seeing someone seriously hurt, but I love watching players get leveled with a good clean hit. If they didn't learn to keep their heads up in pee wee, they'll certainly remember to do so after being on the receiving end of a good Kronwalling.
