Suter Watch: Decision today, down to Wings/Wild
joesuffP replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
If we had signed Salo and Suter our D and PP would have looked very solid. Wonder if Holland will go after another D man. Doan and Semin and I'm about as happy as could be this offseason. Nash is a little unrealistic- 487 replies

Who cares about his stats. Look at his size, speed, shot and skill.... He's exactly what the wings have needed for years. He has all the tools and being on Detroit's top line with Datsyuk he should be burying 50 goals a season.

Still no decision from Suter. Speculation abounds.
joesuffP replied to mtuhockey7's topic in General
The best thing for us is if Parise resigns or goes to some team that can't afford Suter as well. If he really wants 10M are there teams out there that can still pay for both of them or would they even want to? Even if he signs a huge contract in Pittsburgh that works out well for us. As long as we get Suter... who knows there's still a chance we can get both. -

Well I don't think wings are such a shoe in like everyone thought or the deal would be done or holland would at least be meeting with him. Why would he wait for Parise to sign first? Detroit seems like the obvious choice but if he knew he was signing with Detroit he would have signed by now. If he would like to play with Parise but it's not a priority for him he would have signed with the wings and made Parise more likely to come over as well. It seems he wants to go wherever Parise goes and that's a ***** move -

We HAVE to get suter... If we don't get Parise I think holland will trade for Nash or Ryan... Holland seems like getting a big top 6 player is going to be a priority and once these clowns decide where to sign then holland can make some moves -

Are we sure about this? I know minnesota has cap space an so do we. It really looks like they want to go to the same team. So what's the competition for teams to sign both? -
Parise Watch [update x2]: Red Wings OUT of Running
joesuffP replied to Dominator2005's topic in General
It's scary that Suter can't make a decision before Parise signs cause I'm pretty sure he's not signing here does that mean suter decides where he goes based on Parise decision? -

Parise Watch [update x2]: Red Wings OUT of Running
joesuffP replied to Dominator2005's topic in General
f*** if we don't get suter I'm gonna freak... It's obviously not a slam dunk deal by any means... Reports were saying suter would announce his signing shortly after Parise which even scarier -
Ericsson is a great penalty killer also... might rather have Ericsson out there than Kronwall. Ericsson is no nonsense, get the puck out and down the ice penalty killer. I'm gonna be much more relaxed watching a penalty kill w/o having to watch Stuart handling the puck behind his own net, almost always failed to clear the puck.

Please let Nash be a redwing next year! I haven't been able to stop thinking about Nash in a redwings uniform since I heard about this beautiful rumour. Sign Suter, trade for Nash, sign Semin....BOOM!

signed Red Wings Sign Mikael Samuelsson to 2-yr, $6m deal (w/full NTC)
joesuffP replied to Matt's topic in General
The only reason to be mad at this signing is if some people wanted us to resign Hudler. You can bank Samuelsson can score 20-30 goals, if he stays healthy. This is a Hudler replacement that we got cheaper than resigning, and imo, is quite an upgrade. Samuelsson is a better skater, playmaker, more physical and stronger than Hudler. These signings today were just taking care of loose ends and Holland did this beautifully. He addressed this team's size and toughness issues while just replacing people. The Wings are set up nicely right now and have options for Parise, trade for Nash or Ryan, and still room to sign another forward. Anyway you look at the Wings will be drastically different next season with a whole new dynamic and I am very excited -
It's about making the team better... Division rival stuff is BS. If the trade makes sense they make the trade

Hey what do you think of 7 Million in two years for X player
joesuffP replied to Majsheppard's topic in General
Wings are a front runner for Nash... Deal could take weaks though. Holland probably knows Parise isn't going to sign here so made these deals so he can trade some forwards for a big top six forward. The team is better and will be a perfect offseason if we get Nash for Flippula, Mursak, Cleary and picks if CBJ wants more than that I would be reluctant. Franzen needs to stay flippulas skill set is similar to a lot of our players we need goal scorers -
Nash is way better than kovalchuk... Nash is the best power forward in the NHL . Nash rarely has played with good players he would blow ppl away playing with Datsyuk. In the Olympics he was Canada's best forward by far

Still no decision from Suter. Speculation abounds.
joesuffP replied to mtuhockey7's topic in General
They can't be completely ridiculous... The guy doesn't want to play there.. He will be dealt before the season starts to a teAm of his choosing. -
Nash is exactly the type of forward the red wings have needed. Flippula is great but he is just a weaker version of Zetterberg but better skater
-
Too too is a great 4th liner and Samuelsson is a great 3rd liner ... No way our forwards our worse than last year... Pretty much guarantee suter to Detroit. Trade for Nash and im a happy camper. 7.6M is harsh but Nash is a much better option than Pairise except for losing Flippula likely. We need goal scorers
-
I want Nash in a red wings jersey
-
I'd rather have Nash than Pairise. Nash definitely has 50 goal potential... I hope we keep Franzen in this deal. We'll have goal scoters throughout the lineup Sammy, Nash, Franzen and our bottom 6 is quite solid I must say

signed Red Wings Sign Jordin Tootoo to 3-yr deal, $1.9M/yr
joesuffP replied to Tim.D's topic in General
Tootoo has turned his life around he is a really positive guy and will be great in locker room... He always plays like he has something to prove. Him and Abby will be great together. Like this signing -
signed Red Wings Sign Mikael Samuelsson to 2-yr, $6m deal (w/full NTC)
joesuffP replied to Matt's topic in General
At least the wings have a guy that can be counted on to score when the top lines aren't scoring... Samuelsson is pretty decently physical... Right handed... Finds open ice... Strong second PP guy. We will have a nice third line with lots of options on the first two lines next year -
