Cholo, Hronek and whoever we draft are pretty much a lock to be regular NHLers with Sulak and Saarijarvi being promising wildcards. Finish bottom 5 for another year or two and we can start being excited about hockey again. Even with Larkin, Ras and working in some young defenders I’ll have a lot more interest

That was about as good as I can expect the wings to play. They controlled most of the game against a good team but the scoring just isn’t there. Hopefully Mantha stays with Larkin. That was one of his strongest games in a while even though he didn’t register a point. Continue to use AA as a weapon offensively. Throwing him on different lines seems to have him more engaged and impacting the game. Wouldn’t mind seeing Nielsen centering that Nyquist line for a little bit to see how he does

Yes, that’s definitely taking it way too far. E was never the worst defensmen on the team like some made it seem but his resurgence this season is only that of an average top 4 defense first defensmen that compliments playing with a puck mover on his pair. Far from an impact player. Funny that the media starts praising Ericsson and people suddenly jump on the bandwagon to such extremes I never seen anything on twitter or during the broadcast that he was scratched because of illness and assumed it was a coaching decision. Not saying he deserved it of all the defense but Blashill taking some risks at this point of the season would be nice to see one way or another

Guess they played Mrazek in back to backs and he’s given up 2 on 11 shots so far

I don’t know how the defense would even function without Green throughout a whole season. How are we going to insert Hronek/Cholo into the lineup with a train wreck like that and ask them to run the PP and push offense? #1 priority is trying to get these young players to hit their ceilings.

If Philly’s backup plays well tomorrow I wouldn’t be surprised if Mrazek gets benched going forward

So nobody is going to make a big deal of Blashill scratching Ericsson? This was his boldest move of the season sadly

Trade Mrazek or be stuck with both Jimmy and Mraz or let Mrazek walk for nothing. No brainer

Yeah I seen they were out shot by a wide margin and as soon as I flicked on the game Mrazek got scored on so I think it’s best I don’t watch

Rough game for Mrazek against the Hurricanes. He’s got a tough schedule coming up to try and get those 5 wins

Rasmussen-Larkin-AA will be the top line next year

I always preferred Nyquist but I’ll miss Tats and that legendary gif on his game tieing goal against NYR in that epic game

I kind of hate Green now especially if he plays in our next game

I never forgave Smith for how bad he was in this series. Literally scoring goals on his own net

If the wings pick up a primary top 6 goal scorer and we get more depth where does Bertuzzi fit? On which line does Bertuzzi play assuming Holland picks up all the players you would like to be signed to this team. Is he a good enough 3rd liner on a Stanley Cup winning team... I think a 4th line of Abdelkader-Helm-Eaves would be the perfect 4th line for a stanley cup run... no team could match up against it... Assuming they fall down the depth chart because of signings... but where does Bertuzzi fit in the grand scheme of things? My dream 3rd line would be big, strong, physical with a little scoring touch so we would have different looks on every line... I don't see how Bertuzzi can play on this team if we want to be a strong contender

And what will Howard command in 2 years as a UFA and is he going to be able to start 50+ games? 4M short term isn’t a ridiculous price to pay an unproven #1 goalie considering we were just paying almost 10M. At the end of the day Holland will try to trade Howard but nobody will want him and then he’ll move Mrazek and our goaltending situation will be much worse in 2 years

So keep resigning Howard (whose also terrible) or try and sign a journeymen for the next 3+ years. Mrazek is the best risk/reward in this situation unless Howard is willing to sign for dirt cheap and can stay healthy

Mrazek has upside and Howard does not. If Howard is gone I wouldn’t mind rolling the dice @4M for 2-3 years. Basically it’s whichever goalie is able to be traded will be traded and who ever is left will be the #1 next season. If Holland can trade either than I’ll be happy but I’d prefer Mrazek for the next 3+ Years over Howard

Mrazek as an asset is still worth more to teams than Howard
