There Will Be Blood - Kris Draper

I always wondered what would have happened to Lemeiux had McCarty glove punched him with his Left hand rather than his Right hand.

There Will Be Blood - Kris Draper

Patrick Roy said in an interview once that the Fight Night at the Joe caused the entire Avalance team to lose their touch mentally for a few years. I'd say McCarty was solely responsible for temporarily throwing our rival off their game for a couple of years, allowing us to win those two cups. And so, I'm glad Draper didn't fight Lemieux. That Colorado team was better than us. The Fight Night finally put us over the edge. Then they were better again winning in the playoffs in 99 and 00 (?) until Holland revamped the team for 02 cup win, making us great again.

I still can't believe what McCarty did and got away with lmao. That was a full on assault even for the standards of those times.

Trust me you want Patrick. You always want a center. AA can be a winger going forward if it meant Patrick was a center to replace Z.

There Will Be Blood - Kris Draper

I don't think Lemieux actually ever won a fight. I remember watching him fight a few times in the 90s. He was a bit of an instigator but almost always lost the fights he got involved in. Draper vs Lemieux wouldn't have been a huge one-sided bout I don't think. I mean ultimately I'm pretty sure Draper would have lost the fight but I doubt much damage would have been done by Lemieux. Even in McCarty vs. Lemieux round 2 I don't think Lemieux actually landed a single punch on Mac. He was just a bad fighter to be honest. Probably why he stopped fighting after his time with the Canadiens.

There's not much benefit in Kronwall going on LTIR next year anyways. We'll already have $20 million+ of cap space in 2018. Now if he goes on LTIR before this summer it would help. But he won't. Unless I just jinxed him.

LTIR cap circumvention is going to get nailed by the next CBA (in 2021) imo. Of course by then Kronwall would be retired.

    The person below me game...

We are going to miss the playoffs. The person below me thinks the Red Wings will not win another Stanley cup in the next decade.

Tomas Jurco traded to Chicago for a 3rd rounder

Jurco was back in the line-up today against Toronto because Hossa is injured. He turned over the puck to Mathews leading to the first goal of the game (Chicago eventually won in OT). Here's the awesome turn over by Jurco. edit- Links not working but you can find it on the NHL.com highlights.

Tomas Jurco traded to Chicago for a 3rd rounder

Detroit is better than Chicago financially, politically, weather wise, affordibility wise anyways. But Jurco is young so of course Chicago is an upgrade for touristy reasons; even though it's pretty much a ghostown at night. It's like the 2nd class version of New York. Jurco should phone Brenden Smith over in New York, I'm sure he'd rather be there.

    Dylan Larkin... A powerforward?

So recently I've heard a narrative from someone that Jeff Blashill wants Larkin to be a powerforward. Naturally I asked for the source on this, but as usual was not provided with one. At first I declared it as a false narrative but then I did some digging of my own. It turns out, I did not find that Jeff Blashill wants Larkin to be a powerforward. But instead, Dylan Larkin was actually considered a powerforward in the US National development team and in college hockey. Interesting aye? Check out the following article. After departing with the US National Development team, Larkin went to the University of Michigan as a freshman, where he made an immediate impact. The six-foot-one power forward found himself playing a large role with the Wolverines as an every day second-line center and utility power play/penalty kill specialist. Not only is Larkin pegged as a power-forward-type player with skating abilities that are next-to-none, he's developed into a serious offensive threat mixing pure hockey sense, spectacular vision, and blazing speed. Here's a personal favorite goal of Larkin's that showcases these attributes: http://www.wingingitinmotown.com/2015/8/19/9173647/ranking-top-15-red-wings-prospects-center-dylan-larkin You learn something everyday. I wonder if Blashill is upto something genius in Larkin's development.

Been hearing rumors that Blackhawks might leave Jurco exposed at the expansion draft.

Tomas Jurco traded to Chicago for a 3rd rounder

Lol The Detroit News takes a shot at Jurco for calling Detroit "boring" To some people, not scoring any goals might be considered “boring.” To Tomas Jurco, the goal-less wonder traded from the Red Wings to the Chicago Blackhawks earlier this year, Detroit is “boring.” http://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/nhl/red-wings/2017/03/17/seriously-ex-wing-tomas-jurco-calls-detroit-boring/99300468/

I think Green would be a great 1st pair if he had a partner like Keith. But I can't say the same about DK. I think DK is a 2nd paid guy no matter how good his partner is. At least that's how this season seems.

I'm just saying that Kronwall going on LTIR in the summer to clear cap space for us is highly unlikely. It's not impossible and I could be wrong but the chances aren't good if you play 46 games of hockey 20 minutes per night through a supposed bad knee. It would be one thing if he played like only 10 games this year or something but the fact that he's able to play that much shows me his prognosis is better than what people assuming. I'm just throwing this number out there but I say 90% chance he finishes the contract. So as far as reset/restore, I'd assume Kronwall stays on the books. Ericsson not going to be bought out either. I'm just saying lets be realistic, it's Holland.

  22. Don't be so sure, maybe she's upset that he's got 0 goals and won't put out till he gets one.

If he goes down to LTIR for a month or more mid season it doesn't help us. We still have his cap to start the season so it doesn't help us when signing/resigning players in the summer. He hasn't been missing many games lately and his minutes played per game is actually higher than it was beginning of the season. It looks as though he's learning to deal with the pain. Another reason why I think he'll be adamant about finishing the contract.

    2017 KHL playoffs

It was one hell of a hit though. I mean the dude chest would have indented if it wasn't made of bones that's how hard Datsyuk dug into him.
  25. Bittersweet. We won and it was a fun game but it doesn't help for our future upcoming draft whatsoever. We're now #7 in the draft order. That sucks.
