Vasilevsky was no secret though. Everyone knew how good he was. Since the start of the season analysts have been saying Yzerman has a big decision to make in the offseason regarding goaltending. I'm sure Bishop will be the one to stay, but one of them is going to be a starter elsewhere soon enough.

Our goaltender to give isn't any better than the two the Stars already have though... Sharks with a Western Conference title and a trip to the Finals. Didn't think that would happen this year, especially wit them starting the season with two goalies with a combined 80 games or so of NHL experience. That Jones stepped up big time. LA sure knows how to develop goaltenders.

I always thought he was one of the best backups in the league during that period as well. Just shows how good the team was that they could go from having two of the top 5 goalies of their era to promoting their backup and not lose a step. As solid as he was during the regulars, his waiting on the extension offer was hilarious after he got lit up in the playoffs, then saying he felt like he wanted to kill himself was just too much. Lol After that I was happy to see him go, especially since it led to the Hasek/Osgood tandem.

Legace sucked so bad in that series. Cost him his big money extension because he chose to wait until after the playoffs to sign so he could get more. That blew right up in his face when Holland let him go and called up Hasek. Lol Just goes to show how good the Wings were that season, that they could have Legace as their starter and still finish first.

Illitch didn't name Tiger Stadium Little Caesar's Stadium, but all of a sudden it's a good name for the new home of the Red Wings? Not surprising though I guess since he seems to care about the Tigers a lot more these days. The Wings have won four cups since he's owned the team, so maybe he's taking a break from caring too much about them until he gets his Tigers a World Series. Thanks Mikey.

The goal Hasek gave away to Selanne in OT in Game 5 in the 2007 Conference Final to put the Wings on the ropes going back to Anaheim was another s*** moment. Last second lazy pad stack he just roofed it over. As good as Hasek was, usually when he let in a bad goal, it was REALLY bad.

What made the 2009 loss so bad was the Wings were up 2-0 in the series. 2 damn wins away from another back to back championship. It never should have gone 7, nevermind the Wings being on the losing end. Should have been skate to the throat heading into Game 3, but they gave the Pens life instead. Horrible collapse capped off with the NHL's new golden boy skating the cup around the Joe. s*** still stings.

Why not just keep the name Joe Louis Arena? Just because it's new doesn't mean the name has to change. Yankee Stadium is still Yankee Stadium, and MSG is still MSG, despite both being rebuilt. Or even revert back to Olympia Stadium. LC Arena sounds ridiculous.

Can't wait to see the huge orange logo and giant pizza elf on the arena making it look like a massive new LC location.

If the problem is coaching and/or management, then fix it and start playing to potential. If they need to fill holes in the lineup, trade assets and get what's needed. Such bulls***.

Mrazek has allowed 18 goals and has 3 shutouts and 1.88 GAA and .931 Save% in 10 playoff games. Yeah, he sucks. Lol He's the LEAST of the team's problems.

Can't really pick a favourite here. The Blues booted out the Hawks, so i'd like to see them win, but Dallas has a couple of my fave players, so it's a toss up. But I do think the Blues might be too much. Goaltending is the big question mark in this one. Can Elliott continue playing well, and can one of Lehtonen/Niemi stop the Blues offence?

Abby should get it. Should get the "C" actually. I know the Wings won't pull a SJ and strip Z of it, but maybe they should.

Forgot game 7 was last night. Before I just checked who won, won, I figured Chicago did. Makes the season for me to see the Blues pulled off the win. By one goal. Was a near choke, but the f***in Hawks are GONEZO!! Yeahhhh!!

Most of the Hawks roster has won a cup or two, or three. Wings had what..6 players? Dats and Richards with 2. Z, Kronwall, Errorsson, and Helm with 1. All of them are currently useless in one way or another. lol Watching two teams this good play a series shows how far behind the Wings are right now.

It really is sickening. Even Crosby and the Pens died out after a couple seasons...these guy just won't go away.
