  1. Hahaha And yes I’d bench him. Especially if Rask is starting.
  2. Precaution for upcoming stupid trade for a crap D man and a 7th.
  3. Elliott is off and on. Good in Ottawa, traded to the Avs for Anderson, sucked there, signed in STL, and was among the top goalies in the league there. Two time All Star and elite level numbers. But they thought it was time for Allen to take over. He bombed in Calgary though. Horrid playoffs. Doing solid so far in Philly. I think he’s better than Neuvirth, but I doubt he replicates his STL days again.
  4. Philly has been a goalie roulette wheel since Hextall played. Snow, Cechmanek, Boucher, Bryzgalov, Leighton, Bobrovsky (that trade bit em in the ass), Mason, Neuvirth, Elliott, now Mrazek. I’m missing more than a few there off the top of my head. The Wings situation doesn’t compare.
  5. Yeah, a second and a third wouldn’t begin to make up for Mrazek leading the Flyers to the Finals and maybe winning the Cup the same season he was traded. It would look like a disasterous move to every GM in the league and make Holland a laughing stock. Not that he already isn’t to some. Not that they’ll make it that far, but LOL.

Heh if Howard is traded too this is going to be a s***show in goal with what’s left. A SECOND for Glenny?? Haha lower your expectations Kenny. A lot. I hate the idea of moving Tatar when there’s many others that should go before him. But they are immovable, so the team loses a good young goal scorer because of that mess. f*** off Holland.
  7. Good. Then trade him before anything else happens.
  8. May happen. But I don’t think he’ll regress that far at this point. If he would have, it would have happened a few games ago. I think he’s got it together. New team with playoff hopes gives him an extra reason to keep sharp. Although when Elliott returns, he’ll probably get his starting job back regardless of what happens.
  9. The original post with the Blash and Holland pictures, I have to admit I laughed. ******* idiots and their goofy expressions. Haha I like your style.
  10. I can see Holland’s thinking about draft picks (FINALLY!), but he’s talking about drafting young players that can be possible impact players in the future. He just gave up a young impact player (when he’s on his game), a goalie no less. Kinda counterproductive. The return wasn’t enough. I don’t think i’ve seen a GM give up on a goalie like Mrazek so soon before and give him away so cheap. He had all the time he needed to get him to where he needed him to be. He was here three seasons if you count the two part seasons. One season as the starting goaltender. How many teams give up on a goalie after one season? He worked hard all summer, wasn’t really given a chance to have a good run of starts till they wanted to showcase him. And wouldn’t ya know, he was lights out. But Holland couldn’t let a crappy pick get away and worried about his qualifier for one season. It wouldn’t have sunk the team financially. Is he going to treat all underperforming young players in the same fashion? Get rid of them if they don’t produce results fairly quickly? If so, this team is gonna suck for a long time. Theres no way Philly reaches the ECF. They are a bubble team. Third rounder is the best outcome.

Some good news for Holland haters

Never has been any towards him. Why would that change? If your not Larkin, Mantha, or a longtime vet, your expendable to Holland. Not exactly a secret. I like my kicking his ass out of the GM chair this summer much better. If he gets one more season, it should be as a stop gap measure until they can figure out his replacement.

    Rumors Thread

There’s a difference between Fraud and other GMs. Fraud gives away a first to bring Quincey back where he started. Other GMs wouldn’t have even wanted him back, especially not at that insane price. Hope he can get that much for Green, but I’m far from sure of it. Why would Yzerman trade Foote for a rental? Unless Green is willing to sign there July 1 or something.
  13. Green is injured? Haha Christ. Dooo itttt!
  14. Philly wasn’t the first team after Vegas willing to give up something. Edmonton was ready to trade for him in November. Offering a fourth for him if Holland retained $2 million, or a fifth if he retained nothing. At that time he had no value either. They were going to take a chance on him. They needed a goalie. Holland declined. So, Holland could have gotten the exact same deal back then that he just did, except the pick increasing a round after certain points, one of which may happen and bump it to a third. Plus the third if he’s resigned but that’s far from guaranteed. The exact same deal as it now sits. Even after Mrazek’s turnaround. There was NO goalie market. Hextall only made the deal because he was forced to due to injuries and Holland offered him up and made the deal pretty sweet. Had there been a goalie market, I’m sure he would have done better on the return and it would look a lot better than it currently does.
  15. I dunno why people bring up the Vegas thing so much. They wanted Fleury as their long term starter. That was clear way before the draft took place. Why take Mrazek at $4 million, when he just finished an overall bad season (only reason he was even available) and was untradeable, when you already have your starter picked out? Makes no sense at all. Neither Mrazek or Howard (coming off a short season due to injury, untradeable as well) would have been taken in that draft. Detroit’s three goalies were totally safe either way he went with protection/exposure. The only goalie left in Vegas from that draft is Fleury. No surprise there. Pickard was waived after a dissapointing camp, and is third string in Toronto, Bérubé was an upcoming UFA only taken due to a big side deal with NYI to protect other players. signed with Chicago July 1, has started one game for them. Subban was claimed off waivers from Boston.
  16. Jimmy isn’t going anywhere. Holland will probably offer him another 5 year deal soon enough. It’s like he’s afraid to trade him, even though he’s easily replaceable. Its too bad Philly couldn’t send us Elliott for him, injured and all. But I guess Hextall isn’t that dumb.
  17. No, because I am still a fan of his even if he swapped red and white for black and orange. Like I said before, Philly has always been my number two team since I was young. It’s all good.
  18. There was no defeat. Had Mrazek not turned things around before the trade, sure. He was outplaying Howard. That gave some incentive for Philly to look at him. Had he not improved, he would still be here. His contract was the easiest to move of the two also, with Howard still having another year to go and making more money. They got Mrazek for half his salary and what is currently a fourth. Steal. That made him just as affordable as some of the other options, and he comes with an RFA qualifying option, should they feel they should use it. If they dont, he walks. No big deal. Howard wouldn’t fit that. And now we have a vet starter who’s play has dropped off, and a backup who was horrible last time he was up. Hallelujah. But it is good for tank.
  19. No, it is what it is. Players get traded. Bonus that he went to Philly though. Good opportunity for him. This move sure helps the draft odds, but makes our goaltending very thin. Ride it out then look at off-season options.
  20. Hahaha Yeah probably. There’s always a goalie war to be had on LGW!
  21. I’m going to miss the goalie battle conversations. Haha
  22. Yeah, better lottery odds could be the silver lining here. If he goes down, who do the Wings have? Coreau and McCollum? Hahaha mannn that’s sketchy. In the article I read, it said Holland would explore options at the deadline regarding backups. But i’m sure he’ll go with Coreau. Yeah, don’t see Mrazek returning. Either Hollands done with him, he’s done with Holland, or both don’t give a s***. I think Holland should look at UFA journeyman backups in the off-season though. Unless Coreau shows he belongs in the NHL by that time. He still might sign one though. After Coreau, goaltending is very thin, besides the kids who aren’t ready yet.
  23. Yeah, that could happen, but I don’t see him re-signing in Detroit after this. Why would he want to? To compete with Howard again and end up behind no matter what he does? He gets back on track like I assumed they wanted him to do, and it wasn’t good enough. As long as Howard is in Detroit and Holland is GM, he’s not going anywhere, and he will always get chances over anyone else. Yes I know Mrazek had chances, but it was too early to give up on him imo. Oh well, it’s done and over with. I like that he ended up in Philly at least. If I was a goalie wanting to start the most games I could, Detroit would be off the list of teams i’d sign with.
  24. Hefty price? Holland got a fourth. Nothing beyond that. The third if they reach playoffs is attainable. The second for ECF, kiss that goodbye. If Mrazek is a rental like everyone thinks, that third for signing him will be null as well. So to recap, Mrazek got Holland a fourth (maybe third), maybe another third if they decide he’s staying around. Hextall got him at half his salary, a fourth or third, and maybe another third. Fleecy!
