That would just be too smart of a move. Finals with Calgary in ‘04, two Cups with LA recently. He’s no nonsense and would whip this lazy floater roster into shape pretty fast, including the vets. The past is the past, what you’ve done till this point shouldn’t matter one bit. The Cup win was ten seasons ago, and not many guys left from it. Abby, Helm, Z, Kronwall, I think Errorsson? Might be missing a couple off hand. No special treatment for anyone. Z is the only one who deserves that at this point, but he shouldn’t be able to dictate where he plays. If your needed at C, you play C, Wing, you play wing. Blash tiptoes around the vets, but him especially.

Seems like the guys brought in to bring toughness often don’t use it in Detroit, or they are often scratched, even against teams where that element can be useful. They should just stop signing these type of guys and save a bit of cap room. They were happy with Ott last season apparantly, although he got his ass kicked for a living. There was room for him to play more though. This season there isn’t room for one of Booth or Witkowski on the roster once AA is in, and the one kept won’t play much.

And that McCollum guy. Spent yours trying to develop him, then Kenny finally realizes he’s a bust and lets him walk. He’s gone one season, and he couldn’t resist wasting a 7th rounder to bring him back. 7th rounder is minor, but still a pick. Why let him leave in the first place, just to bring him back? Not like he turned a corner when he left either. Head scratcher for sure that one.

Great trade here. Got rid of Sheahan, picked up an energy guy who is coming off a Cup win, upgraded a draft pick, and made room for AA. Still don’t get why Pittsburgh was so interested in Sheahan that they still wanted to trade for him instead of going with another option by now. Maybe they see potential in him with a team change and different coach? Who knows.

Wasn’t cutting down Howard with my reply either. He’s been great, besides Wed. Fact is, last nights game coulda been a lot worse of a loss had Petr played his sloppy, out of control style. But he didn’t. He looked completely different. If he keeps it up, good. I know the majority feeling about him here, but at least give the man some credit for great games.

Oh I agree. Just jokin around. Hell of a game by Mrazek though. Watching the run through of his stops in the post game, he really wanted this one. Hope he keeps it up.

Mrazek looked pretty disappointed there in the post game. Probly wants to give Helm a kick in the ass.

Yeah Mrazek sucked tonight. Maybe one goal was him taking a chance, the rest were not stoppable, especially when your a man short in OT and Ovie gets a wide open one timer off. Helm scores a goal, but he should have had two. Empty net miss. Game was lost because of that and stupid late penalty. Im happy with a point from Washington. This could have been a slaughter. Mrazek’s GAA jumped from 2.98 to 3.24 after tonight? Wow.

After the game he just played and the point we already got from the Caps, not a huge deal. Helm should have put the game away already.
