Olympic Hockey just got more interesting - Russia Banned
Jacksoni replied to amato's topic in General
With the current anti-doping setup (of which I am sceptical), Russia and it's former designation CCCP should have been banned starting in the late 1950's, when hormones systematically started to be used in a supervised manner, starting with strength sports. That's not to say that noone else did of course, but they were the scientific forerunners. Most of the basic research regarding hormonal therapy stems from the Soviet Union in the 'later half' of the last century where human subjects displaying potential of athletic ability were mapped, treated and supervised over decades with full medical data. Food for thought. Google is your friend. If fail, use Google Scholar. -
He has lost Z for sure. Likely most vets with him. As of recently they'll just collect pay. Trade what you can, keep the kids.

Hah.. You are likely, and sadly right. Heck I would be if Wilson.

Would like to really know what goes on in Holland's mind about this. Yes, we have heard the official version and I doubt it's far from what he's thinking and feeling, he seems like an honest guy and I doubt he's bulls***ting the fans. But time of legacy is creeping on him, real tight now. Looking at it all he's still great, his past cannot be denied but that fresh big dent on his once new car is obvious. What will he do - scrap it or refurbish it, despite the cost? Addon: he is not getting canned. Coach will if anything. But he'll either resign or stay on his own behalf. He is Red Wings just as Gordie was and Yzerman was. Yes Howe was treated rather bad in the end but owners (C. Ilitch) learned, perhaps a bit too much in our case at the end.

To me this loss was not a bad thing, as in you can't cure an infarction with natural herbs. Our problems are too serious for line changes or the odd defensive addition. Going with the medical allegory we need surgery and anaesthetics prior to that. In my mind, and hopefully management changes their stance about this, is the part when we should be ordered on the sickbed, preparing for all that. With a new coach being the lovely nurse holding a syringe.

The only positive I take from these last games are that things are normalizing. We are trickling down where we were expected to be. Which is depressing of course, but also gives us a longshot at a top pick.

True chump.

We are past that. Survival is the focus. Thus Howard tends the goal, is what I believe the reasoning is. I predict a one goal loss. Don't like it, but that's what I have a 20 bucks bet on.

11/19 GDT - Avalanche at Red Wings - 6:00 PM EST
Jacksoni replied to MabusIncarnate's topic in General
This loss was bad, real bad. Letting up a 3-1 lead late in the third and ultimately losing at home against a bottom feeder is as demoralizing as it gets. On top of that, the dominance Colorado displayed at the end of the game was.. Punishing.. Aggressively dominating. Rape comes to mind. Let's see how they look right after this. If you think it's easy to shake this treatment off 'even' for the veterans think again. I could bet you Z discussed hanging them up over dinner at home if we could somehow find out. Albeit as it is, it's just conjecture from me. Stars are aligning. When one of our key players goes down, the plunge begins. And the trek toward Dahlin begins in earnest. -
Can't pick just one as it wouldn't be a correct depiction of 'the truth'. As for if only one person Howard comes in at the top. But kids close behind.

11/17 GDT Sabres @ Red Wings 7:30 PM EDT

Slightly careful about this one but 20 bucks on the Wings moneyline. Time to pack the bag, I'm off to play myself. May the Octopi rain tonight! -
He did alright this one. I remember his broken leg and the setback it caused. Fels like yesterday. I'm guessing it put a real fire on his ass. He had it all, now he has the passion to boot. Just do not ******* get injured. *off to look for luxury vacations at Aruba or Canarie islands

11/15 GDT - DRAGON BALL Z EDITION Flames @ Red Wings - 7:30 PM EST

Yep Smith caused us big problems last game and in effect won the game for Calgary. We should gain zone entries easier and the team should be rested. 25 bucks on the Wings moneyline. May the Octopi rain tonight! -
He's a top 3 prospect with just a few games played this season. I am projecting him to be our top prospect around march unless he gets injured or traded. I could write a lot. Not needed. Use them eyes. His speed and creativity creates chaos. Just like some dude drafted in the 7th round long ago did.

Promote Ken Holland to some advisoral administrative role. Get a Veteran GM that wears knucklebusters and a pocket knife 24/7 while at the same time holding a Masters degree in business or organizational theory. Dispatch Blashill through means of offering him the Griffins back, or walk. Don't hire a coach, hire a team, consisting of a coach together with advanced statistical analytics support whom in tandem have a proven record. Your long term winning should start fairly quickly. New times ahead. Have to use the tools that science has given. Coming from someone who still watches the odd CAN - CCCP game from the 70's.

11/05 GDT : Detroit Red Wings @ Edmonton Oilers : 4:00 PM ET

Damn them Oilers look awful. They are performing well under capacity. Clearly some stuff is going on there. That was a dominating two points which by itself is comical/ridiculuous. But I'll take it. Next. -

Country in all it's glory but given the "electronic web of signals that displays porn web pages mostly" you should dare to take your statements to encompass this roundish (not completely) ball spinning on it's axis (21degrees) around a huge burning fire due to protons releasing their energy which slowly dissipates to the surface. Fake news people do. Although they disregard that burning fire thingie. Which sort of makes sense, it probably shouldn't be in here, but makes for good drama. -

Line looks damn promising, it's what most of us are looking forward to each game. I hope they keep them bundled up, I imagine what they could conjure up 3 years from now with Mantha naturally sizing up in muscle growth, Larkin getting more rugged and AA perfecting his aggressive speedy game. A glimmer of light in our tunnel of misery at least. -

Best of luck to us! I don't like that Stone figure in Sens lineup. He has an annoying tendency to be at the right spot at the right time. And Karlsson is simply dangerous, always creates chances. My gut feeling tells me we have a chance, albeit a low one. Will enjoy this one fer sure. -
Can't recall seeing a team as bad for quite some time as Arizona. And we almost got tied by them. Uff. Times are tough. Now where is that 20 i gained on this one.. Gonna have to spend that on ailments in liquid form.
-
You got me, that high from Arizonas win should play a factor, adding to their possible downfall. 15 more bucks on the wings, making it a thirty.

*rant* I have recently remarked on Larkin's alarming rate of drawing penalties, but perspective is in order. Dylan is 21. He is at the least 4 years away from his prime. He will be damn good if can stay healthy. He's not McDavid or Matthews. They are bigger, stronger and more skilled. However I do believe he belongs to the list just below those hoodlums, and slightly below Jack Eichel on that second tier list if you will. Still a very good pickup. I believe this is the time to let him get his stuff together. He could still rise above Eichel. Think Michael Jordan, considered borderline clinically insane. Which is what is required to reach greatness nowadays. If he has the drive, he'll get it done, barring injuries. So there is still hope. In a fubar way. So, do we care about the cost of what it takes him to reach that? Did we care about the russian five? Or Jordan? They sacrificed almost everything, especially the Red Army russians, and without consent. But in the end greatness is just that. Greatness, visible for all our eyes on the ice. So is there a point to my ramblings? Let the kid show us. He's got 2-3 years until we know what we've got. Something tells me it's gonna be good.
