They're just unbeatable. It's ridiculous. I really hope Crosby is out for the playoffs and Pittsburgh still wins the cup. It's like Belichick winning the super bowl without Brady. -

The Little Caeser's arena isn't going to attract a single UFA that otherwise wouldn't be here.

Jesus christ, those were the days when the Wings were like 4 seasons removed from winning the cup and it was considered unacceptable.

Since winning the cup in 2015, they lost a lot of depth that offseason due to the Toews/Kane cap hits, and had been very overrated for the past year and a half. But they've made some nice moves here and there and have adapted to become less scoring oriented, but a more defensive, shut down-type of team. The favorites to win the Western Conference, no doubt. And also, by far, the toughest out in the playoffs. The sweat is officially back on. They're on the hunt for #4.

It seemed like they weren't really a top tier team for about 18 months. But now they are and it's time to sweat again.

1. Grit 2. Heart 3. Jonathan Toews 4. Jonathan Quick Toews has only been overrated the past 2 years imo. 2009-15 he was an elite player for sure.

Came in and expected exactly what I saw: people talking about his "heart" and "grit" as if it amounts to anything on the ice. Wow. Steve Ott made that play and that play and that play that one game. Let's remember those small samples and forget about the 500 shifts where he got outshot 60-40. -
Pittsburgh vs Washington in the semis will decide who wins the stanley cup, IMO. What a classic.

Quick is by far the most overrated goaltender in the NHL (only had 1 great season, been a .918 average goaltender for the majority of his career), but this is just stupid. Kings need goal scoring
