Tomas Jurco traded to Chicago for a 3rd rounder
ChristopherReevesLegs replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
I thought we were done at Emdog -
I'd say the exact opposite. There's way more Mrazek apologists than there are those being critical of him. "Not his fault" "Just a down year" type stuff, as you demonstrated.
-
Last game against the Rags, Mrazek allowed 4 goals and ended the game with a .871% save percentage. With almost no threat from Howard or Coreau taking his job all season, he now sits at .900% save percentage, allowing an average of 3 goals per game. You guys still over the moon about this kid? Or is reality starting to sink in?

I remember when we moved East the big talk was "The East is wayyyyyy more gritty and tuff, da softy Wings are gonna struggle" and that wasn't just coming from Wings fans, but also from all those fans of "big tough" Eastern teams Does anyone think this has been issue?

Oh I'm still convinced Kindl and Smith are going to save this defense. Also still holding out that Hampus Melen and Mike McKee will be big contributors on this team. -

I spent 20+ years in Metro-Detroit, as I'm sure many of you have. There's plenty to do. This guy just plain hates Detroit. I guess you can see Lake Michigan from Chicago, maybe that's good for him. I wouldn't get too used to it there though Tomas... -
This is the most frustrating thread to read lol Dickie jus stahp

Red Wings trade Vanek to FLA for (D) Dylan McIlrath and Conditional 3rd Round Pick
ChristopherReevesLegs replied to FireCaptain's topic in General
Jurco sucks. Vanek sucks. Smith sucks. Of all people, Montreal seems to be enjoying Otters presence. We won the trades. All the draft picks have become ours. -

Youtube star. See ya in Switzerland Tomas. -
We're getting Nolan
-
I doubt Blashill is as terrible as some would lead you to believe, but he's certainly no Babs or Bowman.
-
What was it they said about Bowman? As a player you hated him everyday of the year, except the day you won the cup? Folks this is what happens when you give players the coach they want. Poor performance.
-
We're gunna win it dude. We're going to make the Red Wings great again.
-
I agree with all that, and i agree Babcock probably wanted to leave anyway. But my point is that management acts like the players forced their hand, when in reality it was Babcock that forced their hand. We lost a bidding war, and now we have a worse coach.

Looking ahead at expansion draft
ChristopherReevesLegs replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
I dont believe any teams management will be forthcoming with their players about who is protected and who's not. There's zero need to release that information, and that information will only be used by players agents to their advantage. Fans shouldnt expect to recieve internal knowledge like that. It compromises business. That being said, if teams wanted to do it, id be all for it. Just doubt they do, which is exactly why i expect theyre choosing not to. -
When it comes to the whole "Babs voice was stale" "players welcomed the change" bit, I dont see it as a viable excuse for losing Babcock. What players want, isnt necessarilly what players need clearly we traded out a better coach for a worse one. The whole fresh voice business is just a week scapegoat by management for saying we didnt want to make Babs the highest paid coach ever. And that's fine, you dont have to pay a guy that much, but dont hide behind the excuse: "but but the players wanted to try something new"

Perhaps you'd settle for a nice Swedish player? My guess is somewhere north of Michigan, perhaps a place that rhymes with scenario

The stealth tank is over. Embrace the tank has begun. Manthas been losing a lot of board battles lately. Perhaps hes been getting lazy and needs a "break". If it helps us lose, cool whatever I dont care. Pretty checked out of the season at this point.
-
That rumor was pure BS. There's a lot of good young backups out there. Acquiring one to backup Howard until they can start themselves would be fine by me.
-
Deal Mrazek. Acquire/sign a high end back up for Howard.

I'm still holding out for Hitch. A boy can dream...

I wish Ericsson could skate pass and shoot too

Advanced Analytics might be used to judge Selke Trophy candidates this year
ChristopherReevesLegs replied to kickazz's topic in General
There's a heavy media narrative as well that voters fall into line with. Kopitar, Bergeron, and Toews have all basically been crowned the only viable choices for the Selke for the foreseeable future. One of my favorite narratives from the past few years is that Shea Weber is secretly a bad D-man. It's been going on for a while. First it was "he's only good cause of Suter" then "Only good cause of Josi" then "His fancy stats prove he's bad". Now that he's with Montreal that narrative has died off amongst the media folk. And look who he's paired with.. Markov. Guess who's having a career year at 38... Markov. He's a great defensemen.
