You're doing a great job! I definitely am here daily as well. Not as much over the weekends since I am at work, but I do check in during some of my breaks. I like your guys' ideas of approving users, or at least restricting users to not be able to create topics until after a certain time period. Would that stop all the spam? Maybe not, but it should slow it way down! (plus it'd be nice to be able to update the background of the forum to current players.) We could have a contest to see who creates the best looking background!

So.... both Ghost and Walman are on pace for 65+ points this season.

I know Mabus is doing what can, but we really do need another 1 or 2 folks here that can clean stuff up.

In a thrilling matchup that kept fans on the edge of their seats, Lucas Raymond emerged as the night’s hero, sealing a hard-fought victory for the Detroit Red Wings with an exhilarating overtime goal! The final score stood at 2-1, a testament to the team’s grit and determination on the ice. Despite the disappointment felt by Leftwinger, who had hoped to see four players hit the mark of four or more shots on goal, this win was undoubtedly a silver lining. The energy in Little Caesars Arena was electric as the crowd roared with approval, celebrating not just the victory but the resilience displayed by the team throughout the game. Raymond’s clutch performance in overtime showcased his skill and poise under pressure, reminding fans why he’s a rising star in the NHL. While the missed opportunities may linger in the back of the Leftwinger's mind for a FanDuel win fall, the two crucial points added to the standings make the $10 loss feel better. As the Red Wings continue to forge ahead in the season, moments like these fuel their drive for success, ensuring that every game is a step toward their ultimate goal. With Lucas Raymond leading the charge, the boys are certainly bringing it home! I'll be out of town at work until Sunday night. See you all then! -

As the arena buzzed with palpable tension, the clock ticked down to the final seconds of regulation. The Detroit Red Wings and their fierce rivals stood locked in a battle of wills, each team craving that elusive victory. Dylan Larkin had flashed his talent throughout the game, skilled as ever on the ice. But as he headed to the penalty box, a sinking feeling enveloped the Wings’ faithful—a costly mistake at such a crucial moment. The crowd erupted in a cacophony of cheers and jeers, their hearts collectively pounding like a drum, echoing the high stakes of the contest. With only a one-goal lead hanging in the balance, the players dug deep, but as the final whistle blew, it was clear: the game was destined for sudden death overtime. The teams regrouped, swapping strategies and taking deep breaths, while the tension in the air tightened like a coiled spring. As the referee dropped the puck to start the overtime period, fans held their breath, knowing that one small mistake could decide the fate of the game. Each passing second felt like an eternity. Players skated faster, hits grew harder, and the urgency danced between them like a wildfire. The Wings knew they had to capitalize on their chances, but the rival team was equally desperate, pushing back with relentless determination. Overtime is about to deliver its promise of unpredictability, and both teams know that glory—or heartbreak—awaits just one goal away. -

As the final whistle draws nearer, the atmosphere in the arena crackles with electrifying anticipation. Fans are gripping their seats, hearts racing, as the Wings hold onto a slim one-goal lead. The third period is upon them, and every detail matters. Each flick of a wrist, every stride on the ice, is magnified under the harsh arena lights. Dylan Larkin, the powerhouse of the team, is relentless. With two shots already registered, he’s not just playing; he’s orchestrating the rhythm of the game. His speed slices through the defense, leaving opponents scrambling in his wake. The fans can feel it—one well-calibrated pass from Larkin could create the opportunity they’ve been yearning for, perhaps even widening the lead that keeps the tension simmering. Then there’s Alex DeBrincat, the wild card in this high-stakes scenario. He already has a goal, but everyone knows he’s this team’s secret weapon. His reputation as a game-changer looms large; a single shot from him, when the moment is ripe, could shatter the ice beneath the opposing goalie. The crowd holds its breath, waiting for that moment when DeBrincat’s instincts kick in, turning the tide with an unexpected strike. And don’t overlook Lucas Raymond. He may be young, but tonight he’s igniting the arena with his vivacious spirit. Also boasting two attempts on goal, the chemistry he shares with Larkin and DeBrincat is palpable. When he zips across the ice, darting into open spaces, the audience feels a surge of hope. Each time he touches the puck, the crowd pulses with excitement, anticipating that his youthful tenacity might just bring about the breakthrough they've been waiting for. With only 20 minutes left in this high-octane battle, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Will Larkin set the stage for a pivotal play? Can DeBrincat find the sweet spot for that elusive shot? Or will Raymond navigate the chaos to carve out a clear path to the net? The quest for glory is palpable, and as the players take their positions, one thing is certain: the final act of this hockey spectacle is destined to be a thrilling rollercoaster ride, filled with heart-stopping moments and unforgettable plays! -

As the buzzer sounds to end the first period, the atmosphere in the arena is electric. The boys in the home reds have set the tone with a solid 1-0 lead, showcasing their defensive prowess and relentless energy on the ice. But the real question looms: can they sustain this intensity and carry it into the second period? All eyes are on key players Larkin, Raymond, DeBrincat, and Sharonovich. Each has the skill and determination to not just keep the momentum going but to elevate the team's performance even further. Fans are hoping for an exhilarating display of skill as they battle for possession and create scoring opportunities. Can these dynamic forwards find space, unleash their shots, and reach that coveted target of four shots on goal each? Achieving this will not only boost their individual stats but also send LeftWinger to FanDuel glory - a prize every fan dreams of! As we gear up for the second period, anticipation hangs thick in the air. Will the home team fight for every inch on the ice and defend their lead? Or will the opposing squad rally back, putting the pressure on? Regardless of the outcome, this game is shaping up to be a thrilling spectacle. Stay tuned as we dive back into the action! -

Powerplay time! The Cat! 1-0 Red Wings! -
Are we ready for this thread? Too late, ready or not, here it is. My prediction is Red Wings win 10 more games this season for 20 more points totalling 111. Good for 2nd in the Atlantic behind Florida. Toronto is a close 3rd. Boston and Tampa can't recover from their loses and fall to wild card hopefuls.

I dunno. He said he wasn't waiving to go anywhere. Maybe it just wasn't because it was Detroit. I know the Rangers are looking to trade him. He only has a 15 team NTC. That's 16 teams they can trade him to with no recourse on his end. They could find the best deal (with no salary retained) to a crap hole team that isn't on his NTC and he'd be screwed. He may as well put Detroit on his list if they want him that bad. I do think the better play is Fowler because Detroit is actually on his list already.
-
I believe down deep that Zegras would flourish here. I think Yzerman should entertain a trade for him and Fowler. Then I'd even entertain trading Chiarot for Trouba. In the 2 more years of their contracts, ASP will be more than ready to go! Fowler and Trouba are better than Chiarot and Petry, IMO.

If it is true, we are in trouble!

With the (maybe true) news that Yzerman wanted to give Stamkos 4yrs $8M AAV but Ilitch never "got back" to him, what does that make you think about Chris Ilitch? I guess the story goes Yzerman was given the OK to offer him 3yrs $8M, then when Nashville offered 4, Yzerman told Stamkos that he will give him 4 as well, as long as ownership ok's it. Supposedly he called Ilitch and told him he could get Stamkos here for 4 years, Ilitch said he'd get back to him, but never did, and thus Stamkos went to Nashville. Two things: 1. Chris Ilitch is SOOOOO NOT Mike Ilitch. Mr. I would've said give him 5 years! 2. Would you have even wanted a 38 year old Stamkos here for 4 years at $8M? Would we be doing better? ...also, like said above, if we're going to tank, I'd rather tank with the kids up here. Dump the vets, bring up the kids! Fire Lalonde though, we need a fresh coaching staff with NEW philosophies, IMO.

go back 10 years and imagine someone calling ME a level-headed neutral poster! I have become totally different that is for sure! (just don't bring up Franzen, Hudler, or Tippet and Hague! ) speaking of years, it's hard to believe I've been here for 21 of them and never had to change my user name!
-
At this point, I wouldn't mind a minor to middle of the road shake up. Fire Lalonde is a no brainer, but I say trade Rasmussen and Veleno and cut ties (however you can) with Petry and Chiarot. Rangers are now talking desperate when it comes to dumping some players. They are still talking Trouba and have added Kreider to the mx. I think that the Trouba to Detroit trade is still on the table and will happen. But now in their desperate attempt to make their team better, they will definitely need to retain some salary and also add a sweeenter to the pot for this to happen. Anaheim still talking about getting rid of Zegras. Acquire Trouba. Acquire Zegras and Fowler. Fire Lalonde, hire Fedorov or Larionov. (or both) Rangers retain $4M, you LTIR Husso and waive Petry and Chiarot. It's time for a shakeup!

Everytime the forum goes down, I send him a facebook message, then all of a sudden (coincidence maybe) it's back up and running. This last time, it was down all weekend (or more) and today I sent the message, and it was back up shortly thereafter. I will continue that as long as it seems to be working. Hopefully he will promote a couple more of us and we can help take care of this place.
