Well, I can certainly remember a ton of non-levelheadedness from myself back in the day! The past 6 years or so I've really changed in my life, but there were times when folks would tune in on TDL, draft day, and UFA days just to watch me implode! Thank Goodness I'm nowhere near like that any longer. Maturity and growth, are amazing things! It's been an interesting and fun ride the last 21+ years! I might be one of the rare users that has never had to comeback under a different name as well!

    TRADE!!!!

"Things are going to start happening....now." Now you trade Husso (50% retained), Berggren (not impressed whatsoever) and a pick for a D upgrade.

I'd volunteer to do it! I've been here since 2003 and have no plans to leave!

    2024-25 In Season Trades/Waivers/Promotions Thread

Ok, here is what I'd like to see. It's an expensive 4th line, but they do work well together (well they have in the past.) This also leaves us with $1.8M in cap space. I am not sure Winnipeg would need or want Chiarot, but I just looked at teams that are going well and who maybe he would not nix a trade to. The 7th rounder isn't necessary, I'd even be fine with Future Considerations. It's actually a nice set of defense parings for the next 2 years. Much better that Chiarot, Petry and Maatta in the starting 6. Then if Rangers still want to dump Trouba over the summer, then swap him and Holl for next season. Meanwhile, Kasper has been recalled for tonight's game, as has Holl.

I think we have seen the last of Husso. Granted it's not a big help to the cap, but at least he's not taking the roster spot up. I agree with Petry and Chiarot. Maybe if we're out of the playoffs come TDL, somebody wants his vet presence for a playoff run? We aren't unloading Petry to anyone, so I would hope (especially if we actually acquired Liljegren) that he would just be scratch. I'm ok with Gus, he's fine for a 3rd pairing with Holl. I also think DeCat is doing fine, 4 points 5 games. I have a feeling all of Motte, Fischer and Kane will be back next season as well. I would trade Veleno and Maatta if possible. Maybe Toronto would take a vet like Maatta (retained salary) and low pick for Liljegren? I am gonna do some GM stuff at the pedia, and see how things might pan out.

10-14-24 GDT - TRASH at RAGS - 7 PM Regard Time

Out goaltendered. But you still can't give up 4 goals. I know one was an EN, but it's sad that a 37 year old Goalie is our best option. Also the D still isn't good at all. Need to make a deal to upgrade the D. It's only 3 games in, but there hasn't been too much positive to look forward to. If they're going to rotate goalies, they may as well just promote Cossa and get him 30to40 nhl games. He might become a starter or worse case he is a good backup to Talbot. 35 games at the NHL level is better than sharing AHL starts with 4 other goalies. Keep husso down there, swap Lyon for Cossa.

    What do with Husso?

But he's been assigned to GR, so obviously the three G experience is over.

    Lions 2024 thread

You pay the asking price today, right now, for Maxx. Two 1sts? So be it! If that means possibly 2 Super Bowl Ships? Do it. Do it yesterday.

    What do with Husso?

There are teams that need a goalie. Nobody claimed him because of his salary, but would they trade for him if Yzerman retains salary?

    Lions 2024 thread

Looking at the standings, Las Vegas is last in their division. Lions need to be on the phone right now asking what the price would be for Crosby. He has said that he doesn't WANT to be traded, but if he were to be traded, he would want Detroit. Considering the current state of the two teams, Crosby will probably be willing to be dealt home. THEN if Hutch returns at anytime later down the road, Lions would have a lights out edge rushing duo for a couple of seasons!

He needs to make big saves. Our D does suck, I said that as well in my first post earlier today, among many other days.

    Rumors Thread

Anaheim isn't looking for cap relief, they are looking for roster relief to upgrade younger players. I am pretty sure in order to get that relief, Anaheim would have no issues retaining salary. As a matter of fact, only being $2M above the cap floor, they'd have to retain in order to stay compliant. Fowler at $3.25M (50%) is not an overpayment at all. Gibson is on IR at the moment. The article says it may take Viro and a 2nd to obtain Fowler. That's a deal I'd do all day long! But there would definitely have to be some salary moved out in order to fit (even at 50%) Fowler on the team. Maybe Holl is involved and just gets waived by Anaheim as well? IF there is another player coming back with Fowler, I can see it being Vatrano. Again, Anaheim has plenty of room to retain up to 50% to make this deal happen for Detroit, then you might see either a kid forward going back (Soderblom?) or maybe Veleno if they want an NHL player. Holl, Viro, Soderblom, 2nd for Fowler (50%) and Vatrano (50%)

Remember when Debrincat and Kane were just rumors and most analysts had Detroit as the frontrunner? Get ready for another homecoming. Trouba may still be in the mix come TDL as well.

    2024 Pre-Season Thread

Weird because with Watson they had 13 F, 7 D and 3 G to give them their 23 player roster. What would the point of waiving him be?

    2024 Pre-Season Thread

I am still in the opinion that he needs to acquire Fowler. He would instantly be the #1 LHD, plus he is better than Chiarot and Maatta combined. Sure there would have to be major surgery done to the cap, but dumping Husso somewhere would be a good start!

Yes 23 man roster. Game roster is 21. I really didn't think they'd waive Holl! Wow!

    2024 Offseason Thread

Well, that is what I am referring to. Obviously Swayman would move our G position to an elite-ish level, would it be worth it to deal, lets say a 1st and a Lombardi, or Wallinder to get that elite level goalie? I can imagine having Swayman and Cossa here in 1-2 years would give us a pretty similar G-room as Boston has had the last couple of seasons (projecting that Cossa works out.) Throw Augustine in that mix in about 4-5 years and that would be a nice G problem to have. And if Swayman helps us to become a perennial playoff team, giving up a 1st doesn't seem that bad.
