This is fun! I traded Jimmy and signed Mrazek after Philly doesn't qualify him! Its all for fun anyhow!
-
The most JT could sign for is 7 years coming to a new team, so you may have to give him $11M to bring him closer to $80M. I honestly don't think it'll take $10M to secure EK, but if we had the cap, it would sure please him I'd imagine!
-
...we'd have to make the deal for Karlsson at the draft, so Tavares can see it and it gives him a bit more incentive to come here! Draft Dahlin (it aint over until it over!!!) right before we are called to pick our next 1st rounbd choice, we make the deal: "We have a trade to announce!" to OTT : 2018 1st round via Vegas, 2020 1st round, 2019 4th, 2020 3rd, Gus Nyquist, Dennis Cholowski to DET : Erik Karlsson

A few things, I am not sure those players going back would get the trade done, PLUS I believe that is too many 1sts to give up. Do you really think that our RFA's are going to get that big of a raise? I am thinking for of along $3.5M for each...I could be wrong. My thinking is, $3.5M is what AA was looking for last summer, and Larkin and Mantha are both coming off ELC's. Also Kronwall probably won't be traded, but I can see a team like Arizona taking Franzen's contract to meet the cap floor. ...but if we got BOTH Karlsson and Tavares and were still able to keep AA, Larkin and Mantha, our rebuild is over! Instead of 2019 and 2020 1st, how about the 2018 1st we just got from Vegas and the 2020 1st? I want to keep that 2019 in case we are bad again next season we can land Jack Hughes.

Mrazek traded to Philly for Conditional 3rd and 4th Picks
LeftWinger replied to hankzet40's topic in General
Once we all out of the playoffs, I say give Coreau all the starts, A. To help us possibly tank, 2. To see if he can handle the NHL game and C. The make Jimmy expendable over the summer to help tank for Jack Hughes! -

We also have to remember Howard does have the M-NTC, maybe Philly and NYI were not on his list of 10 teams he'd go to. Come July 1, all that goes away, he could wind up in Arizona if they have a good offer! July 2nd, 2018 Howard for Domi straight up! -

Yes, but Petr made his bed with Holland. There was no saving him, he should have been the hands down goalie protected at the draft and he should've been the hands down starter, but when he had a bad stretch and Jimmy took over, he got irked and probably ran his mouth a bit. Got in the doghouse with the GM and you just knew that even IF Howard would've brought back a better return, Petr was the one who was getting traded. If he hadn't been traded, Holland was prepared to let him walk in the summer. His pee-peed in Hollands Oat Bran and that was it. But yes, Mrazek is the better goalie and had even more potential. I just wish he would've been more professional. Oh well, we see now...of course I do believe Philly has a bit better D in front of him. -

Here's a list of January rankings of #20-#40, with three picks in that range, lets see what we can do! Grigori Denisenko / LW / 5’10 165lbs / 06-24-00 (MHL) A creative player with the puck who can dart in and out of the lanes with expert edgework, quick acceleration and creative lines. Slight stature but enjoys engaging. Lack of exposure may see him slide on draft day, but it won’t be due to a lack of skill. Ryan McLeod / C / 6’2 190lbs / 09-21-99 (OHL) Speed runs in the family. Isn’t as hard-nosed as older brother, Michael but plays a similar game. Missed the 2017 cut-off by a week so developmental arc is a little clearer. Jared McIsaac /LHD / 6’2 209lbs / 03-27-00 (QMJHL) Big, strong and capable at both ends of the ice. A safe top four future. Akil Thomas / C / 5’11 165lbs / 01-02-00 (OHL) A buzz-saw of a player. Needs to add strength, but moves as quick with the puck as he does without. Having a strong year with Niagara. Jett Woo / RHD / 6’ 201lbs / 07-27-00 (WHL) Calm and collected are his trademarks. Is being leaned on heavily in Moose Jaw this season. Unlikely to be a big producer at the next level but offers quality skills across the board. Calen Addison / RHD / 5’9 179lbs / 04-11-00 (WHL) Small, dynamic right-shot defender needs to thicken up and improve positioning to handle stronger players but knows how to create offense. . Benoit-Olivier Groulx / C / 6’1 176lbs / 02-06-00 (QMJHL) Strong two-way player who can chip in on the scoresheet and play all-situations. Likely destined for a bottom six role. Jonny Tychonick / LHD / 5’11 165lbs / 03-03-00 (BCHL) Terrific skating, awareness and offensive instincts. Needs to build strength but heading to a great program at North Dakota and from a great program with the Penticton Vees. Serron Noel / RW / 6’5 201lbs / 08-08-00 (OHL) A long, fluid stride generates loads of power and speed for such a big man. A goal scorer first and foremost, he also offers underrated playmaking ability. Quite young for this crop. Philipp Kurashev / C / 6’ 183lbs / 10-12-99 (QMJHL) The Swiss forward is having a strong second season in the QMJHL after a terrific rookie campaign. Was relied on to do a great deal of heavy lifting at the WJHC. Versatile and owns good puck skills. Vitali Kravtsov / C/W / 6’2 170lbs / 12-23-99 (MHL) Smooth skater with skill to burn has managed to produce a few points in the KHL as a 17-year-old – no easy feat. Lacks exposure due to not being selected for Russia’s international squads. Highly talented player. Alexander Alexeyev / LHD / 6’3 200lbs / 11-15-99 (WHL) Big, powerful left-shot defender creates serious power in his stride and makes pro-level passes. Suffered a nasty knee injury late last season but looks fully healed this year. Jacob Olofsson C / 6’2 193lbs / 02-08-00 Alexander Khovanov / C / 5’11 179lbs / 04-12-00 Martin Kaut / RW / 6’1 175lbs / 10-02-99 Jack McBain / C / 6’3 183lbs / 01-06-00 Rasmus Sandin / LHD / 5’11 190lbs / 03-07-00 K’andre Miller / LHD /6’3 192lbs / 01-21-00 Adam Ginning / LHD / 6’3 192lbs /01-13-00 Ty Dellandrea / C / 6’1 181lbs / 07-21-00 Filip Hallander / RW / 6’ 180lbs / 06-29-00 Milos Roman / C / 5’11 194lbs / 11-06-99 -
Holland is still hoping to make the playoffs. IF that happens, then Green may be our TDL addition! Seriously though, if, for some act of miracle, this team squeaks in, having Green is better than not having him. And if Holland is truly looking 2-3 years in advance, I agree, I can see him giving Green another 3 year deal, hopefully somewhere between $4M-$5M.

Tatar traded to Golden Knights for 2018 1st, 2019 2nd & 2021 3rd
LeftWinger replied to hankzet40's topic in General
I can honestly say that before all the returns started coming in, I had no clue that Tatar would return so much! I had hoped for a 1st, but I was expecting much less if either were traded. I think in the draft thread I said something like Tatar for a 2nd and or Nyquist for a 1st or vice-versa....very happy with the return and the cap space! -

I am not, but I imagine its a beautiful community! Plus in addition to a main office in LA, the FBI has 10 satellite offices in the area! Now that is interesting! -

Actually, think about this, Ottawa is going to tank and probably finish dead last, that would give us #32, then if we finish around 3-8, that's another one in the 30's. That's THREE picks from within 10-12 slots. We can get some quality players there, as long as Holland chooses wisely and doesn't use the extra's on trying to find a diamond in the rough. Three smart, no brainer picks there and we're in business! -
Actually he got 3 of the 4. he traded a goalie, just a few days earlier. If Green weren't injured, he would've gotten the fourth deal you mentioned, so I really give him an A-, because I would've liked to see another salary shed, but there was pressing need for it, maybe next TDL there'll be a market for Nyquist, Howard and E.
-
Heck that is a good one! I hope he does become a Wing! you on the other hand are really clogging up our forum.
-
Ya, he may just opt to sign with a Cup contender to begin with. Oh well, as stated before, not Kenny's fault he got injured, at least we still got that second 1st round pick!

With that pick from Vegas, I think we should pick someone out of Fullerton, Ca. I hear they have the most knowledgeable people there, so they must have great players with great minds! -
Pretty mature for a man in his 60's. Your wife must be so proud!
-
This guy is like a 60-65 year old herpe.
-
In the end, the NHL is a business. Sign him for $4M-$5M 1 yr. In hopes of (trying again) flipping him to a contender in 2019. That makes the most business sense. Unless we score JT, he'll be too old by time we are serious contenders again. Stranger things have happened, but we have to flip him for a 1st. If he weren't injured, he would've been dealt. He will have the same value, maybe more TDL again.

@amato too funny! I said the same thing last month! I can imagine a sold out LCA saying WOOOOO as the Flair soundbyte is played after he scores! -
I honestly give Holland an A-. It's not his fault teams shied away from Green, I'm sure he had some lowball offers due to the injury, but when healthy Green is far too valuable for low round picks. He hit a homerun, no a grand slam with Tatar. Considering he cur three years of $5.3M off the cap is valuable enough, but three picks as well. I give him the A- because I sure wish we could've cut a bit more cap, but we'll see what happens before next season. Like I said before, we will have $22M in available cap (With Franzen LTIR) and even more if cap goes up. Hell, I say sign Green to a 1 yr. Deal and see what happens next TDL. We'll potentially have 4 players that may be coveted next TDL. Green, E, Nyquist, Howard. Not that I'll think it'll happen, but if Kronner doesn't retire, I'm sure we may get a call or two about him as a rental to solidify a Cup contender. Ya never know!

When we hyphenate Luke Glendening with the letters L G D (all together of course) the forum, for some unexplained reason translates it to disney.com
