"The rebuild will start next year" was said last year too. There is no rebuild. He already said he expects AA, Larkin and Mantha to take over the team like Z and Dats did after Steve and Shanahan. Also, if he didn't do a thing July 1, everyone would be just as mad at him. -
Guess we just have to.hope Nyquist, Sheagan, Mrazek, Larkin and Abby have bounce back years. Add that to Daley making our D better and maybe Kronner and E having better seasons, we could get back in. In other words, a lot has to happen for Holland's plan to work. I'd still take Vanek, butwhere's the cap coming from? We won't mention two "slam dunk" "no brainer" players he passed on last month...

Too bad when were in a cap crunch, we can't dump cap. If we were in a cap crunch I'd trade Nyquist, Howard, Ericsson, Helm all for 2nd and 3rds. I hope Holland does. All 4 are replaceable. In order to save cap, I'd trade Tatar for a 2nd and 3rd.

Dallas loading up...must be nice to not have a lot of mediocre players taking up most of your cap space.

I believe that he was brought in because they feel they may lose Coreau to waivers. Id rather see a trade to clear salary, but I do think he's insurance for when/if Coreau gets claimed.

Not to quote myself, but they quickly traded Johanssen and now have $9.5M in cap space. Must be nice to have a GM that can clear cap when needed. Just dump E for a 7th man, someone will take him for that...or hell even future considerations. We need to open up more cap.

I do hope you're right about the cap hit. The less the better. I hope he gets as little as possible plus if we could take about $1.5M away from Nyquist that would be great. These salary are getting out of hand again. -

Ya, I saw that, but the season before he had 37 points in 80. Maybe he becomes a PPG player, but I'd be pissed if Holland gave that contract out. I think a lot of us would. He has 8 years to prove it. The last 2 out of 3, IMO don't justify 8 yrs 7.8M...

I hope he doesn't bump XO or Sproul. I still like the signing, but I certainly hope it's because they're betting on Kronner being out more than he's in. -
Kusnetsov just got $7.8M per for his sub 60 point production. Tatar at $5.5M will be a steal. Also looking at that deal, Nyquist deal looks stellar compared. Maybe i am too hard on the lil fella. Who the hell is running Washington? They only have 9 feds and 5 D signed with only $4Mish left in cap space.

What's the problem? 75 goals is 19 more than 56, 147 points is 2 more than 145. 245 games is 5 more than 240. If we're talking average ppg, they're both .6 ppg. Move along. -

Wow, 19 more goals and 2 more points in only 5 more games. Yes, you proved my point. Tatar $5.5M. I hope it's less. But he's we'll worth it. Btw, you contradicted yourself, Nyquist has less points and way less goals. Complain about him because he has yet to earn his contract. Maybe Tatar will be the same way, We'll see. I like how Tatar has more points in only 5 more games and he seem him an underachiever. Now that its settled good on ya for going back to topic. -

....and it starts. Btw, Tatar has always been better than Nyquist. Pathetic is paying a player $4.75M to score 17 and 12 goals the last two seasons. Tatar had 46 goals the last two. But this is not a thread about Nyquist and Tatar, it's about Daley and our D.
