News From Around the NHL *Mod warning page 75*

DeAngelo had such a promising career. I know he has a very unpopular opinion about things, but that shouldn't inhibit his ability to work. I guess maybe he'll find his way overseas unless some team takes a flyer on him. -

'tis why his contract was terminated just 12 days after signing. -
Oh! I did not know that. Yikes!
-
A couple other players (outside of the bigger names) I'm surprised (well I'm sure there's reasons) haven't signed somewhere: Ryan Merkley Serron Noel Bode Wilde Cal Foote Maxime Comtois Nolan Patrick (sheesh remember when he was supposed to go 1st overall?)
-
We really didn't have room for him, but I was surprised he didn't get a QO. At one point before Yzerman signed all those guys, I thought Jesper might be a good fit here, but I'm not a GM for a reason.
-
Dang it, Jesper Boqvist signed in Boston. He's gonna be good for them.
-
It's not out of the question that he scores 60, but we'd all be ecstatic with 35-45.

Forum (or board as referred to (you're showing your age btw!)) is fine. Some users just like to argue and get under others skin. Whatever you do, don't stop coming here! It's been a long lonely time here since The Wings have been bad. Stay with us through the next glory years and you can have a sense of feeling that you grew with the team! That being said, I believe that if The Cat goes back to being The Cat he was, he'll SCORE near 50 goals among 80-90 points and and Larkin will get 100 points. Raymond (if on that line) will also surpass 70 points.

Bertuzzi wasn't going to extend here. Thats why he was traded to begin with. Kubalik was leaving via TDL or UFA. Sebrango was way down the D prospect ladder. The 1st basically covered Bertuzzi not re-signing. If Yzerman had kept Bert in hopes to re-sign him, we'd have nothing when he walked. The 4th was ours. So basically we gave up Kubalik, Bertuzzi and Sebrango, all three players that weren't going to be here for the next 4 years(Debrincat contract) a 1st that we didn't have to begin with and wouldn't have had if we kept Bertuzzi, and a 4th. 3 players that would never be on the team again, a 1st that wasn't ours. Let's mention how often Bertuzzi is iniured too. I'm willing to bet he misses half the season in Toronto. So look at it this way: Debrincat for a 4th. PLUS we still have $9M in cap space. If Yzerman wanted, he could still make a deal for Konecny. I wouldn't mind sending Fabbri and Veleno to Philly for him. No picks needed. He thought you meant goals, not points.
-
Kubalik was gone TDL or UFA, Sebrango was not going to make it in Detroit because of Yzerman's D drafting. So a 1st and 4th. And that 1st (conditional) came from a player (Bertuzzi) who wasn't going to re-sign here either.
-
This is definitely a fleece job by Yzerman.
-
Fleeced! Can't wait for the presser! It's done! Get in here everyone!
-
It's happening people! Where you all at!?! Get in here!

We've all heard the talk, trade is basically done, Yzerman is now working on the extension. I saw somewhere that he isn't concerned about the contract value, he just doesn't want the term. I'm very curious to see what the trade is. I'd hate to lose Beggren. Can we get it done with Kubalik being the player going? Or Fabbri? Hopefully it's not Berggren AND Kubalik. I guess we'll only know if they can agree on the term. I wonder if Brattstrom is coming here too? Where would he fit in on the D if so?
-
That'll be for Lafreniere. He can't have 13.
-
Well damn. I thought he played C in juniors. Still, I'll take that trade please.
-
I'd love to bring him in for a reclamation project. Move Copp and JT to wing and let Lafreniere thrive as our 2C. Can't bring him in and play him bottom 6, that's the problem in NY. Fabbri, McIsaac, Boston 1st for Debrincat Veleno, Viro, 24 2nd for Lafreniere
-
I'm hoping the Debrincat deal gets done today! Player, prospect, 1st sounds fine to me. Let's just get this over with. 8x8 extension and see you in the playoffs!
-
Well I think you just told him, but I'm not sure what one has to do with the other.
