Why isn't the Wild in hot water for their owner's comments?
LeftWinger replied to Majsheppard's topic in General
I had dinner with Mr. I the other night and he said that no one was going to outbid the Wild....except the Red Wings... ...ya, me and Mr Istanbul are pretty good friends...I also heard that the Red Wings plummer said that they were going to sign him too. I am tired of all this hearsay, lets do something! Deal for his rights Minny if you want to get first crack at him, come on Leopold, call up your buddy centcougar and get a deal done, he can recommend a few prospects that you could deal, he knows all about them... ...right now, there are 29 (no Rangers) teams thinking they have a shot at Parise, so who the f*** cares who said what, let your actions to the talking. If he signs in Minny then great, his mistake, but at least it'll be over. Guarantee one thing come July 1st, there are 29 groups of fans that when he signs, one of those groups are going to say, "See, I told you he was coming here!" Let's hope it's Detroit, but if it isn't, whoopee-tee-doo! Flashback to 2001, June 30th. Jeremy Roenick agrees to a huge deal with the Flyers, he later says that Detroit offered him the same exact deal and he chose Philly because he felt that they had a better shot and winning sooner and more...Detroit settled for Robitaille and Hull. He will tell you himself, looking back that was a huge mistake especially had he known Detroit was going to deal for Hasek. Hindsight is 20/20, but JR is without a Cup forever... I say, lets just get it done, whoever wants him the most, make the deal today, trade for his rights. Hey Minny, show us what you got... -
http://fans.wild.nhl.com/community/topic/23630-chuck-fletchers-off-season-plan/ So just who is this "WE" you are talking about....You refer to Detroit as "WE" but yet, on this above link, you refer to the Wild as "WE." Dude, you just got found out...don't come in here and pretend to be a Wings fan...Wings fans have more class than you...

Ya, under the influence of Pot....and there are some stupid f***ers who want to legalize that s***...f*** off pot heads...
-
Right now, I trade Mursak, J. Andersson, 5th round pick for this Parise Rights guy... Nashville won't trade us Suter Rights, but someone else may. Orchastrate a deal with someone to trade for Suter Rights and then trade Kindl, <prospect>, 3rd round pick to them.....Then we have the Rights Brothers all to us!
-
I really am starting to believe that the Wings will trade for Parise's rights, sign him long term, hunt down Suter on July 1st and sign him long term (8-10 years each) and for some reason I think we may see Semin here for about $5M...I could be wrong, he is not on my fantasy roster, but I have a strange feeling...He is Holland's type of player, and I really don't think he is that lazy...think about that, your top 2 lines would be: Franzen - Datsyuk - Semin Nyquist - Zetterberg - Parise follow that up with: Bertuzzi - Filppula - Cleary Eaves - Helm - Abby (does anyone know of or heard if Eaves is going to be healthy?) That leaves Miller/Emmerton/Mursak to make the last two spots, maybe 1 of them will be involved in the trade for Parise. Plus if Holland gets a hold of Moen...this forward group looks pretty good to say the least... We just lost Lidstrom and Stuart, I think that makes them pretty desperate at D too! I think that they are going ALL OUT for BOTH and I really hope they land them...not just one, BOTH...Holland can do it! Do it Holland! DO IT!
-
Gee Mr, Russo, seems like that is a cookie cutter headline if I ever read one! <insert team and $$$$$ under the cap here> The difference is Mr. Russo of the Star Tribune, the Red Wings are looking to get back to the Cup final and Parise will help them do that. You have no one to help Parise get to the final on the Wild... BTW, where has centcougartown been? Maybe he is getting more love for his expertise on callofthewildprospectpool.com...

All sounds wonderful...just NO HUDLER!

Just what part of that team says "bought the cup?" Usuallly when you "buy" a Cup, you sign a bunch of huge names, for ungodly amount of money, for one year to go for all the marbles or nothing at all. You don't "trade" away assets when your are "buying" a Cup...Let's break it down.... Brett Hull was signed on August 22nd 2001....he signed a 3 year deal (not a one year) when no other teams wanted to take a chance on Hull. If he was brought in to buy a Cup, he would have been signed on July 1st and paid top dollar..he took a discount to come here... Luc Robiataille was on the end of his career, LA didn't even want to give him one more season...he was signed July 5th, 2001 again on a multiple year deal. Plenty of other teams could have paid him what he signed here for, but they didn't offer it to him... Frederick Olausson was playing in Europe when he signed here, hardly had to outbid anyone for him... Domink Hasek...Holland acquired Dom the day before UFA in 2001, in a TRADE consisting of Kozlov and a 1st round draft pick. Again, if you are buying the Cup, you don't trade away valuable parts of you team... The rest of that team was already here for years...Duchesne was signed in 1999, Chelios was acquired in a trade for Anders Eriksson and TWO 1st round draft picks in 1998... I HATE when people say we bought the Cup...We gave up assets to put that team together, that is not BUYING the Cup...
-
Was this list put out before or after Lids retired? Because being the fourth favorite to win the Cup even without LIdstrom in our lineup AND Brad Stuart gone, that is not too bad...if the Heavens open up and we land BOTH Parise AND Suter, I could see that #4 spot rising to #1 or at least #2...

Ya well, I like NJ too, I just like Michigan a lot better! Anyhow on today's 97.1 The Ticket show with Mike and Terry they were asking wold it be wise for Detroit to trade for Parise's rights. I found it weird because they NEVER talk about hockey unless it is something substantial or if they had heard something. I am not playing "centcougar" here and saying it's in stone that they are trading for him just because a reporter says they might. They made a great point when talking about Parise/Suter...They mentioned the fact that they would like to play together (probably heard the same stuff we hear) and that Detroit would be smart to Trade for Parise's rights and put themselves in a better position to sign Suter on July 1st if they already have Parise sewn up. They were also asking the listeners what would be a good deal to acquire him...IMO I would say if Holland is going to take this route he is gonna have to outbid a few others and he should offer a very high pick along with a prospect... I would say offer a 3rd AND Tatar. That is pretty steep for "rights" but the Wings need to make this splash and it would give them an inside line on Suter as well. I would even up the ante a bit if NJ asked. It is very imperative that Parise becomes a Red Wing and giving us a few weeks of uninterrupted talks should guarantee a contract for at least 5 years if not 8-10. They also mentioned an that the Wings could offer Parise the "C" as an incentive to sign here. What about Z, you are gonna say, but they had a point, if Zetterberg was to be the next captain hands down, no questions, he'd already be named the captain by now. If Z is the man, whats the hold up? Maybe if Parise or Suter come here, one of those will be it.

Listen, in the Cap world, your highest paid player on your team can only make up to a certain percentage of the teams payroll...so to say that Leopold is going to offer him so much that if he goes somewhere else, he is going to have to take less is absurd. Holland (along with most other teams) has enough cap space available that they can ALL offer Parise the most money. Whatever Leopold offer's Parise it would be stupid to think that Holland could not match it, and if that amount is more than $9M, he would be stupid TO match it. For God's sake Crosby is ready to sign a contract that will pay him $9M a year, do you honestly think that Parise deserves Crosby type money? If Leopold offers Parise upwards of $10M+ then he is just sinking the NHL further into oblivion. I would HOPE, HOPE that Holland does not offer Parise $10M per year. I believe that Holland is prepared to offer up to $8M. That is it. If Parise signs anywhere outside of 5 or 6 teams that are legit contenders, for more money, he is not only an indiot, he is in it for the money and doesn't want to win. We have said all along, he may or may not end up here, he just may sign in Minnesota, but he won't be winning a Cup anytime soon if he goes there. But hey, the choice is his and he will the choice for his own needs...
-
Ok, let me rephrase that...If Suter signs here, then PLEASE NO QUINCEY...PLEASE! Take the draft picks!
-
I think Douglass Murray would be great here! I don't know what it would take to trade for him, might be too pricey, but he would be a great pickup, especially if for some reason we cannot get Suter...
-
You guys are missing the obvious: Raiders of the Lost Cup!
-
PLEASE NO QUINCEY!!!! Take the draft picks! PLEASE!
-
I am going to take that as a vote for my Cadillac Centre... Hey, here is angle for a name that no one has thought of... Due to the Detroit area's growing film industry and the more Hollywood comes knocking on our door, Ilitch Could sign a deal with Steven Spielberg and name the new place: Amblin Arena...after Amblin Enterainment (Spielberg's production company.) I can see it now, Welcome to Amblin Arena, affectionately known as The Temple of Doom!
-
Wow, you know what? Put in that perspective, four 1st rounders doesn't sound too bad... I still think it isn't worth it, but if Holland thinks Quincey is worth ONE first round pick, would he hold Weber to that same standard and if he did, then one would think Holland would gladly trade FOUR first round picks for arguably the best defenseman in the league right now... Honestly, this question goes out to everyone: Would you be MAD at Holland if he DID sign Weber to an offer sheet of 10 yrs $100M? Using Quincey as an example, which I don't think is worth a 1st round pick, but if Holland does, he knows more than I, I would assume Weber would be regarded as worth 4, so I wouldn't be as mad as I once thought I would be...I am sure if this did happen, most of us would be jumping out of our seats, since the draft is a crap shoot and Holland trades that 1st more times than not...besides, then if Nashville matches they are stuck paying him $10M for however many years... Now this is a strange scenario, but what if Holland has that in his mind... I am not going to get my hopes up for ANYONE to sign, when I do that, I usually wind up disappointed, mad and blow a gasket or two...but really with $70.3M and $26M in Cap space, what better way to start re-tooling than spending $16M-$18M on Weber and Suter... I don't think it'll happen but if there is anyone that Suter will want to play somewhere with if he leaves, it sure would be Shea Weber...Suter may even sign for a smaller, front loaded, cap hit, maybe this is why Lidstrom retired, maybe this was Hollands grand scheme, maybe it's already done (behind the scenes) maybe Holland was referring to Weber when he said he would trade for rights if he has to... I love the off season, we usually have about $1M in cap space, with $26M the sky is the limit! That being said, I am not saying this WILL happen, but it could very well and Holland has to make a huge splash to keep this team competitive and I am sure he has Iltich's blessing to spend up to the Cap if he has to the get more Cups here... ...que the blueadams capgeek roster in 3...2...1... (I am not a math specialist, but what would a 10 year contract look like for Parise and Suter paying them $7M-$9M per season for the first 5-6 years then go down to $1M in the last season or two in order to keep the Cap Hit around $5M-$6M? Same with Abby and Helm, front loaded 10 year contracts so that the Hit stays around $1.5M for Helm and $1.2M for Abby, but paying them big bucks up front)

BTW cougartown, Hockey's Future ranks Detroit's prospects at #15 and Minnesota's at #17... http://www.hockeysfuture.com/team-rankings/team-rankings-2011-2012/3/ So I guess the Griffins are going to beat the Aero's afterall....do us a favor, stop trying to convince us that you are knowledgeable, just come here and post like a fan, don't pretend you are an NHL insider, it'll suit you better...If you think that the prospects pool is going to be a deciding factor in him signing a long term contract, you may as well start buying you #9 Parise Panthers Jersey because REAL experts say that they have the #1 prospect pool in the NHL and oh they have even more cap space than Detroit, maybe Parise/Suter will go there...prospect pool...jack wagon.
-
Listen, don't neg me because nobody agrees with you...First of all, I saw the name Nanne, so I thought it was a female, second of all prospect pools mean nothing when you compare it to a perennial playoff team and serious threat to contend for the Cup every year... So explain it to me again, you would put Minnesota's chances at winning a Cup better with their prospects than winning in Detroit with Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Filppula, Franzen, Cleary, Helm, Abdelkader all of whom are Stanley Cup Champions already and have a ton of playoff experience? Even long term, his chances of winning more than once is with Detroit and not because of their prospect pool, but because of their NHL team... ...You need to stop posting on a Red Wings board claiming to be a Wings fan and start posting here as a Wild fan. You can have all your prospects dude, Minnesota MAY luck out and might, MIGHT win A Cup in the next ten years, but I doubt it and they will also have the years where they don't make the playoffs, and who will be there every year? Yep, and with Detroit's NHL ready team and if they add Suter & Parise, Detroit can realistically win 3 Cups in that same decade and be in the playoffs every year and be a serious threat (get deep into the playoffs) at least 7 of those years... Come talk to us when Minnesota is a threat to make it to the playoffs EVERY year and actually makes it out of the first round more than one time in 11 years...BTW, your prospect pool don't look too good so far, ever since 07's 104 pts they have declined in points every year getting a whopping 81 last season in a point friendly NHL none the less... ...LA just proved how a low seeded playoff team can get on a run...I am willing to bet Parise would rather be a low seeded playoff team every year than not make the playoffs at all, like your team hasn't in 4 years, my God they have 3 playoff appearances in 11 years, ya that is attractive and incentive to sign somewhere where he can consistently make a run at the Cup...If Parise signs here, he will win a Cup, if he signs in Minnesota, he will not...I am not saying he would never sign there but If he signs in Minny, simply put, he is an idiot...I can name at least 10 other teams he could go to a win a Cup before he would in Minnesota... Get over yourself...#2 prospect pool...WTF!?!? So pretty much you are saying the Houston Aeros can beat the Grand Rapids Griffins...Super! And oh BTW, Holland and Ilitch have said numerous times that they will pay "whatever it takes" to win Cups...An owner is not gonna come out and say he isn't gonna spend money, so I don't care what the owner of the Wild says, he can only offer him so much anyway and if he offers him Crosby type money, then you can kiss the NHL goodbye because that will inflate salaries so much that you'll have Drew Miller's of the NHL making $5M a year soon! Besides it's no secret, the Wings have more money to spend now you cannot look to the future because you don't who is going to get how much down the road, you are misinformed there, have some common sense...
-
I don't have a clue...It would cost a bit more, but not too much I would think...You never know what Franzen is gonna show up, they may not even want him....
-
Uh....no. When Helm nets 20+ goals and gets near 50 points, he will get $3M... He may get more than $1.5M now, but $3M? Come on... As a matter of fact, he may accept a front loaded contract that pays him upwards of $3M per right away, but averages a cap of $1.5M...that I will agree with, but a cap hit of $3M...No.

They didn't show it on there either...They were talking to Richards when I heard the crowd scream Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc! Nice to see him win one while part of his original organization, but lest anyone forget where he had to come to get his as a player....lol! Congrats to Luc though, he was a part of one of the best teams EVER assembled and will forever be a Red Wing as well as a King/Ranger...and one year a Penguin... -

Three things that make me happy tonight: 1. It cool to see a respectable organization win it's first Cup..COngrats! 2. Fat Boy Brodeur does NOT get to lift a 4th Cup! 3. It's FINALLY the off-season! Come on Draft Day! Let's Go Red Wings!!! (Let's Go Holland!) -

Seems like so far LA wants it at home! I hope the City BEHAVES!!! -
Ya, that could work too, I just chose Miller because of the sponsorship they already have with the Wings...But since there is an actual Molson Ice beer, it would make a little more sense...Either way... White Castle? Hmmm.... One of the largest Grocery Store chains in Michigan is Spartan Store, would it piss off U of M fans too much if it were named Spartan Stadium? There are plenty of Michigan based companies that could be used, Chrysler (technically still part of Detroit) Dodge, GM, Ford, Delphi, DOW, Whirlpool, Lear, Kellogg, Penske, Visteon, DTE Energy...but who is to say he even uses a Michigan company....Like Comcast. Even though its not a Michigan company, but it is absolutely HUGE in Michigan...I can see something with Xfinity in it...
