    Please Mr. I...

I would say....not much. I can list a few I DO NOT want to follow... Karen Newman Budd Lynch DJ Scoreboard Sh!tty Seats (not enough room) Amway I do like the horn too! But they also need to stop all the personal goal scoring music AND the music that "means something" like the Billy Joel 1..2..3..4, I cannot stand it personally. Just blast the f'ing horn and play a song like maybe go back to EMF's Unbelievable or Gary Glitter's Rock N' Roll Part 2. I have always wished for Welcome to the Jungle when the starting lineups skate out on the ice too. Or someting by Ministry, like NWO or Just On Fix or Jesus Built My HotRod...That would get the NEW place rockin!

favorite wing never to win the cup in Detroit

This was the absolute LAST thread on the last page...thought I would bump it up from 2005 for the Hell of it! Mine: Probert, Dino & Shawn Burr... Geesh, look at some of the user's in this thread...where did they go? Sorry to bump it....just a wee bit bored...

We Need to Get Tougher to Play Against

I would love Mitchell on our D, I was asking for him last time he was UFA...although, if the Kings wrap it up, I have a feeling they will be keeping (if they can) as many players as they can to try to get back again in 2013... Yes...I would even say 1 scorer and role player and 2 D...solid backup. No need for a purchased Stanley Cup, then lose everyone in the off season (ahem...cough cough Chicago, cough cough) but 3-4 additions/changes that make it tougher to play against us and that scorer to play with Datsyuk...whether is be Parise or not, but someone who can put in upwards of 45 goals...

    My Trade Proposal

Wow! Overpayment for sure.... +1 for outbidding 28 other GM's! I would definitely like Perry here as well. I would trade Franzen, Stuart (rights) and DET 2013 1st rounder for Perry and Schultz (rights.) (of course as long as Quincey signs elsewhere and we get those 2013 picks for him.)

    Alexander Radulov.

Lets see him smack Torts with the stick like he did in Russia, eh? Radulov will be sans head before the night was over!

    Looking at Holland comments.

While I do agree, I am also just looking at "Cap Hit." He could (before the CBA changes the rules) sign a 10 year front loaded contract and be bringing in Salary-wise close to $3M for a few years, but I really see his cap hit remaining closer to $1.5M for the length of it...But it is all just speculation, Holland did give Ericsson "too much" hoping that he plays up to the worth, he could do the same for Helm...we will see! SOON! July 1st!

+1 for all the changes, I do like them! BUT... Whew! Helm at $2M? Abby at $1.5M? I am guessing that you are setting them high so that when they do re-sign for less it will be like a bonus? Abby made less than $800,000 last season do you really think he has earned almost DOUBLE his money? And Helm? He made less than $915,000 has he really earned MORE THAN double his money? It took Holmstrom almost 10 years to top $2M in salary, neither or these guys have brought what Holmstrom has brought to this team. I am not knocking them, and yes Helm is very valuable to this team, but I am not seeing over 2x his salary... More like: Helm $1.5M Abby $1.1M Quincey at anything over $3M is too expensive for the Wings. We already have a #5/#6 making over $3M, we do not need another. Holland needs to qualify him at $3.125M and then allow him to seek a raise elsewhere and collect the picks for him. The 1st and 3rd round picks are more valuable to Holland than Quincey is... Let Quincey go, maybe he signs on with a bottom 3rd team and then Holland can trade away our own 1st and 3rd next year for something that is going to push this team back over the top and then have a very high 1st and 3rd to replace the ones he traded...business is business and this makes the most sense, especially when he overpaid a 1st round pick for him to begin with, he not only gets another 1st back next year, but another 3rd to boot! Quincey for picks all day... edit: Even going with your $8M for Parise and Suter, I think it will look more like this. Plus this roster also works if the Cap doesn't quite stay at $70.3M... FORWARDS Gustav Nyquist ($0.875m) / Pavel Datsyuk ($6.700m) / Zach Parise ($8.000m) Valtteri Filppula ($3.000m) / Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) / Johan Franzen ($3.955m) Danny Cleary ($2.800m) / Darren Helm ($1.500m) / Todd Bertuzzi ($2.075m) Travis Moen ($1.900m) / Justin Abdelkader ($1.100m) / Patrick Eaves ($1.200m) Drew Miller ($0.838m) / Cory Emmerton ($0.533m) DEFENSEMEN Niklas Kronwall ($4.750m) / Ryan Suter ($8.000m) Ian White ($2.875m) / Jonathan Ericsson ($3.250m) Brendan Smith ($0.875m) / Justin Schultz ($1.000m) Jakub Kindl ($0.883m) GOALTENDERS Jimmy Howard ($2.250m) Josh Harding ($1.000m) SALARY CAP: $70,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $65,442,045; BONUSES: $37,500 CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $4,857,955* *enough for a nice deadline acquisition as well...(if the cap stays at $70.3M) also, I'd personally like to add Shane Doan, but with the $8M each for the Big Two, it would be kind of pushing the Cap with Doan considering he may cost $5M...

    My Trade Proposal

Uh...Ya. We are "trading" for him in this thread...

    My Trade Proposal

If you want Ryan, this is what has to happen... Let Quincey walk and attain the 1st & 3rd for him... Now trade Franzen, Hudler (rights,) Stuart (rights,) DETROIT's 2013 1st & 3rd picks(keep the ones from the Quincey walk) for Bobby Ryan and Justin Schultz... You get Ryan, Schultz plus have more than likely a higher 1st and a high 3rd round pick in 2013... to ANA: J. Franzen, J. Hudler, B. Stuart, 2013 1st & 3rd to DET: B. Ryan, J. Schultz ...then you still acquire Parise and Suter and possibly that 4th line big man and there ya go!

What is your guys opinion of Ryan Carter? He is currently having a pretty good playoff with the Devils. I was at work today and caught an episode of "Sweat Equity" and he and his wife were on there landscaping their backyard and Amy Matthews kept saying they only have a week left before he reports to Carolina to play. That was a few years ago and he is currently a Devil. He will be a UFA July 1st and only made $750,000 last season. He has played in 21 playoff games and has 5 goals (two GWG's.) He is a 6'2" 200lb. forward...don't know too much about him, I can't say I have ever noticed him anytime before, he just peaked my interest because of the DIY show today...

Red Wings make contract offer to D Justin Schultz

I maintain that Holland should sign all three of DeKeyser, Schultz and Welsh. Whether they play here or GR, these three kids need to be in this organization... (and know, Welsh is not a Hurricane, well, he will be a RFA on July 1st.)

    Alexander Radulov.

WTF?!?! This guy is nuts! How come the coach didn't do anything? He wouldn't play another minute if he did this in the NHL! What a jackass. Lets see him try that with someone like Dale Hunter...HEH HEH HEH!

    Jagr staying in Philadelphia?

    Good! Don't want him....
  15. LeftWinger

    Would you make this trade?

I'd take Green...but not for White. (no I am not bias towards colors ) Anyway, If they would take Quincey's rights instead along with Franzen then I would be fine with it. to WAS: J. Franzen, K. Quincey RFA rights to DET: M. Green Kronwall - Suter Green - White Smith - Ericcson (*Schultz) (*DeKeyser) *#7 depending on who Holland signs...
  16. LeftWinger

    Would you do this deal?

No....I like White, he was on a record pace until the injuries took over...but while we are on the subject "if I'd make this trade" what about this one, I have mentioned this a couple of times: to VAN: J. Franzen - J. Andersson - Pick(maybe) to DET: Alexandre Burrows
  17. LeftWinger

    Would you make this trade?

Whoops! http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=634099 Guess we got to trade Franzen and Andersson for Alex Burrows now!

Red Wings make contract offer to D Justin Schultz

Yes, purely speculation, but I have seen Kindl play plenty of times and he has failed every test so far... I do watch a fairly good amount of NCAA games, so yes I have seen him play a few, and he looks really really good to me, I suppose he could flop in the NHL, but so has Kindl. Schultz has the potential and can still prove himself, Kindl has done zilch to prove himself. He has been given plenty of chances to take a permanent spot on this team and he hasn't, my bad, he has, #7... Will they be great? Maybe, but if I am going with a sub-million dollar #6 guy on his way out of the NHL and a #7 who just cannot stay in the lineup, I'd rather go with these three kids and let them grow into something that could be great that only comes by playing with each other everyday, every year, year after year. They just need the chance, and not just go stale in the AHL...

Red Wings make contract offer to D Justin Schultz

Ya they did for 1 game last season...he becomes a RFA July 1st...

    Wha-Wha-What!?!?!

Red Wings make contract offer to D Justin Schultz

Who is better, Smith or Schultz? Does it matter? The fact is Schultz is better than Kindl period. Which automatically would give Schultz a #6/#7 spot on the Wings... Sign Suter, Schultz, Dekeyser...trade Kindl, let Qunicey explore RFA. Kindl has been given ample opportunity to prove he belongs in the NHL, and he does, but not here. He may make a #5/#6 somewhere else, but he is not going to here. Drafts are a crap shoot and we are learning that Kindl was pretty much a bust for where he was drafted...Quincey is more valuable to us for the draft picks in return, not worth $3.5M. I hate sounding negative about two NHL experienced defensemen, but like someone said earlier, now is the time to stick our neck out and go young and let them grow in the organization... Kronwall/Suter White/Ericsson Smith/Schultz Dekeyser Inexperience bottom 3? Yes, but they will all grow together and in three-four years they will all be great! As long as they all pay together and learn together...

    In Anticipation of 2012 Draft

Fedorov met Jim Lites in the hotel and they drove to the airport to get on Ilitch's private plane. It wasn't quite as dangerous or back door seedy as the Klima running through the woods and jump in a truck! (that's the way Mickey Redmond tells it anyhow.)
  23. LeftWinger

    In Anticipation of 2012 Draft

Klima was taken in the middle of the night, running through the woods to an awaiting truck to take him to the airport in West Germany... Fedorov was participating in the 1990 Goodwill games in Seattle, WA. and when he and his team came downstairs to attend a team meeting or practice he told them that he forgot something upstairs and re-entered the elevator, never going back... Konstantinov they had faked a cancer diagnosis (also gave someone behind the scenes a Chevy Caprice and an undisclosed amount of money) that could only be operated on in the USA and when the Red Army let their Captain go so he could get better...well, you know the rest...too bad fate stepped in with what happened later on... Kozlov was in a horrific auto accident that killed his teammate, Taras Kirilov and Kozlov indeed had severe injuries that required facial reconstruction. Nick Polano (asst. GM) flew to Russia to get him released from the Army and get him to the States where the rehab was better. He did defect once he arrived in America.

    Alexander Radulov.

Well if Nashville did indeed offer him $9M per year, guess they weren't too set on keeping Suter around....btw, if that indeed was an offer, what the hell is it going to take to sign Parise?
