Well, at least he's a solid guy you can depend on for points. As it stands right now, we have too many "?" type of forwards that aren't guaranteed to rack up points. Nyquist, coming off a rookie year.....Brunner, brand new to the NHL....Sammy, aging and injury prone lately. We really need guys who we KNOW we can depend on for points. Semin, regardless of his Franzen-like attitude, can be counted on for 50+ points regardless. That's why I wouldn't mind taking a risk with him. Scoring is a big concern atm, which was really highlighted during last season's playoffs. Something like 7 goals in 5 games I think?

Do you work within the industry? Eh....that would make 5 of our possible top 6 over 30......we need to get younger. I say if we can get Semin for 1 year, 5 mil to see how it goes, I'd be all for it.

Then again, he's calling Parise to Pens as well....so half of me hopes he's right and half hopes he's wrong..... I'd say solid, not stacked. We really need another top 4 defenseman (maybe wait to til tradedeadline). If we don't get another top 6 forward, I think it will really show...

For Parise, yeah probably, but what makes you believe Suter is leaning toward there?

Honestly, as much as I hate rumor mongering, I've been looking into this "Hockey Insiderr" guy and have noticed that he has called 4 deals first before the press released it this off season. I would actually put some relevance into what he says..... Hoping he's right. If so, he's my new go-to rumor guy!

Honestly, if he wants to go to a particular team and money isn't right, I'm sure his agent would just go straight to that team and tell them, "hey, he wants to go there, but you gotta match the highest offer". Seem like the most obvious way of doing things.

If he was just deciding on a hockey sense, I'd say we be major in the running....but as a joint decision with his ball n chain, I'd say our goose is cooked. Concentrate on Suter.

Yes, he was highly sought after......and yes there's extremely high potential. However, there's no guarantee he will be able to fit in with NHL. Without seeing him step foot into this league, he's a big question mark. Come on now. I think it was actually a good signing and he could probably fit in well with his Swedish teammates. That being said, he is remarkably inconsistent with a pretty bad GAA. Still, a solid signing. Heart and soul guy? The same guy with major alcohol and domestic problems? The same guy who was scratched through most of the 2012 playoffs? There is absolutely no place for this loser. And to the idiots spewing, "BUT, BUT, HE ADDS SIZE, GRIT, AND TOUGHNESS!".....no. The guy is 5'9, built small, and adds zero strength to our lineup. Big difference between grit and rat. He'll put up 20+ goals, eh? Is that a promise? 36, coming off injury after injury, passed up by TWO teams and......he gets a raise (he was on 2.5m before)? Where's the logic in that? And to the guys pointing to his stats in Vancouver, look a bit deeper. He was playing most of the time on a line with the Sedins or Kesler......OFCOURSE he's gonna wrack up points. I feel this signing is on par with when we brought Williams back and will likely have just as bad a result...maybe even worse considering the NTC. Just my two cents

This is just a joke on so many levels. 3 mil....for a guy who's been plagued with injury problems.......who's turning 36 this year....who has given no indication he can even manage over 15 goals anymore.....I mean, is this Holland's answer for everyf****** problem? Just to bring back guys we NEEDED to part with in the first place? We had a major opportunity to make a splash this year, and Holland fails yet again. I'm surprised he signed anyone and didn't just say, "I like our team and I think some of our GR boys are ready". Fire this guy already....for gods sake FIRE HIM.

12-13 years, 100 million I think is fair for him considering his age and consistency. While I'm not a big fan of long term, stretched out contracts, in his case I think it's necessary. Other, more streaky players on the other hand......(*cough* *cough* FRANZEN *cough*cough*)

Agreed. My dream off season would be Sutter, Garrison, Moen and Parise. But yea, we'll see..

While he had a great year last year, it was a contract year, meaning he could go back to average old Hudler next season which is the most concerning point.
