Ilitch, Chelios to fly to Suter, Holland to fly to Parise
MabusIncarnate replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Not gonna get too excited, but this does confirm through all the speculation and rumors that we really are going to make a run to sign both of these guys. I'll still stand firm in my prediction that we land Suter and Parise resigns as a devil, but we will know more in a couple days. I doubt a deal will be done with either player tomorrow, i'm assuming they are gonna take more than a day to think about their future destination.- 79 replies

Fans mad? Around here? Nah never... Good luck with the responses you get to this thread -
But see this is exactly my point, Konopka will put up 3-5 points all season, and get close to 300 PIM. Ott will get half those PIMs, can kill penalties very well, wins faceoffs and will put up 35-45 points. And he fights. Maybe I play too much fantasy hockey but it seems like statistically he would outweigh Konopka on many levels. As for his avery-like style i'd rather him play with us instead of against us.

I'll toss a name out there I haven't seen much, Tobias Enstrom will be a free agent after next season. IF we fail to add an impact defensemen and suffer because of it during the season Toby is a guy I would completely love having here.

Montoya is a steal at 0.875 mil per. Good goalie rarely given a chance in NY regardless of how well he plays, he has an opportunity to shine on a good team.

Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades! Just kidding it counts in my rule book. Even Flow - Pearl Jam

It's Baseball until Hockey starts for me. Not much of a fan of football anymore.

YES. My brother in law will talk trash all day but one comment back and he clams up and gets all sensitive. It's really irritating when people are like that. The person below me has gone to a really dull meeting in the past month.

I didn't post his PIM for a reason I think we lack a player like him, and I like players like him. Guys like Ott, Prust, Neil are gritty and mean but have a scoring touch. And for the record, Ott has had two straight seasons of a 55% faceoff percentage and has been in the top 10 in the NHL both of those years in that category. We can disagree all day as long as it remains civil, forums would be boring if everyone agreed with everyone anyway. I'll also declare my own ignorance as I really don't know much about Gaustad and haven't seen him play much, i'm basing my opinion mainly on his numbers compared to Ott who i've watched frequently.

Darth Miller just doesn't have the same ring to it.

No I highly doubt they would either. Giordano is very Girardi-like in his style, physical Dman that will block a ton of shots. Great young talent, but realistically Calgary would be dumb to move him.
-
Ott 39 points 278 hits +5 on a non-playoff team last season. Gaustad a whopping 21 points and a -1. I'm just sayin.. both guys come at about the same price, Ott will double up Gaustad in points, hits, and he will drop the gloves and stick up for his teammates. Not seeing the appeal of Gaustad over Ott.
-
I'd take Giordano over Bouwmeester and any NHL player over Semin but other than that it's a solid looking lineup. Being kinda sarcastic about Semin but my fellow Semin haters get where i'm coming from. We don't need first round picks anyway, we get our talent in the late rounds.

Sundin did the same thing, didn't he? Brodeur is hands down my favorite goalie of all time, i'd love to see him in a Wings jersey to finish his career. I really really don't see him going to another team though, it's probably gonna be NJ or retirement.

Question on Lidstrom's banner raising date
MabusIncarnate replied to lids4president's topic in General
It's still very early after his retirement for there to be a set date already. I'd assume as per the norm that very early in the season would be a good bet. As soon as news of this hits i'm sure someone will post a thread about it. -
Steve Ott - anyone interested in getting him?
MabusIncarnate replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
I'll take Ott, just the kind of gritty player I like. Gets under the other team's skin, isn't afraid to fight and hit, and has a bit of a scoring touch. He's young and teams hate to play against him. -
How much would you give up?

I think .005 is a bit more accurate when it comes to Eklund. And yeah, Ek's "Sources" are a dart board with pics of players and teams pinned to it. He doesn't report rumors, he speculates and he's easily the least credible source in the hockey world. Anything involving Kovy coming here I don't see as any kind of possibility. -
Astronomy is a passion of mine, and I would love an opportunity to leave this planet. The person below me has never had a cavity.

For those of you who didn't like the Mass Effect 3 ending there's good news. Today they released an extended cut of the ending in the form of downloadable content for free. Available for download on the Xbox marketplace.

Dawnguard is officially out on Xbox and it's 1600 MS points, or $19.99. I just finished downloading it but i'll post up my impressions once I sink some time into this. Been a few months since I last played Skyrim so i'm looking forward to the plunge again.

It was tough seeing Youk leave Boston and i'm not even a Red Sox fan.

I know exactly what you mean, I restarted the series a week ago and i'm already starting season 4 tonight and i've seen it all before. It's just that good of a series.

Just imagine all the nice contracts some of our notable NHL players are gonna get offered from the KHL if there is a lockout. It's a catastrophic scenario and as much as i'm trying to ignore it as a possibility it still scares me. cupcrazy I dig the cichlid avatar.
