Yzerman Reportedly Playing in Alumni Game Against Colorado
WingsallTheway replied to vladdy16's topic in General
I didn't expect him to play, so I'm surprised. That is very exciting though! Glad to see he hasn't forgotten about us -
I don't watch Winnipeg but I want to see them do well. Favorite teams to watch are the leafs (Love seeing them lose) and probably the Sens. If I had a second favorite team though I'd have to say Washington. Ever since the year Mike Green had like 500 goals in a season I've enjoyed watching them play. Most hated teams: Montreal Boston San Jose PIT I don't even mind Chicago We always seem to beat them and I loved watching Wings Vs Hawks game. It's really a shame we don't play them 8 times a year anymore

I'll have to agree. Obviously there is bias but I remember having this conversation with a classmate in high school at the time. Pav put up 98 points or whatever...while being the best defensive player in the league. Think about that.... Crosby had something like 120 points; The numbers I'm posting below aren't accurate but it was a representation of ice time Crosby 25min TOI, 15seconds TOI on the PK, 3 min TOI PP Datsyuk 19min TOI, 2min TOI PK, 2min TOI PP Now I dont think offensive zone stats were available at the time, but I can guarantee Pav started in his own zone way more times than Crosby did. If Pav played for PIT at the time and was placed in the same situations, I firmly believe he would have topped 120 points. Probably could have still won the selke too.

I hope Pav decides to sign a 1 year when his contract his up. Guy is a treat to watch and I know 10-20 years from now I'll still consider him my favorite player of all time. Such a unique player and I really wish I didn't take the 2006-2011 seasons for granted. Best player in the NHL for a period of time.

Won't get claimed and people will still try to include him in a package for Malkin

Wow. Ryan Johansson for Seth Jones as well. Thats quite the trade

Redwings interested in kirby rychel?
WingsallTheway replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
He's not going to be that good , likely a third line physical player who can pot a few goals. Having said that, Athanasiou would be enough and I'd be pissed if we did it -
I take Dekeyser over Shultz anyday
-
The only time I noticed him was when he tried to skate backwards and fell down causing a breakaway. I'd say he has improved from earlier on in the season edit: He also held the puck for roughly 6 seconds in our zone at one point, panicked, and fired a pass to the opposing team with absolutely nobody in the area.

That third line would get rekt. I do like the first line though but im not sure Mantha will be ready

You probably think they're stacked because you think Ladd is better than Zetterberg.. -

Can we trade Blashill for Chip Kelly? -

This. I've rarely missed a wings game in 10 years, and I've had little to no interest in the past 15 games or so. I just don't get excited for games this year and even when I watch I find myself not wanting to pay attention. Larkin is the only player who seems to play hard and does anything remotely exciting. I'm over Blashill as well. How long are we going to keep Dats with Helm and Richards??? An infant could realize we need to mix up the lines but that seems to fly over his head. -

No they aren't, but there are not 20 teams in the NHL that have a combination of 2 better forwards and dman. -

You think Andrew Ladd and Blake Wheeler are better than Zetterberg -

I'll take these 3 players over 20 other team's top 3 players any day of the week. I also find it hard to argue Dats isn't top 40 -

Mantha is on a hot streak right now after a supremely slow start to the season, lets settle down here. Hes also known as a streaky player so we can all get back on the Mantha is lazy and he sucks train in a week or so Franzen scored as many goals in 1 game
-
I agree. Its the same thing in football, you just make it easier to gain small yardage until an easy touchdown inevitably happens
-
Thats a huge difference, Id say. This trade doesnt break the bank but Im sure it plays well for CHI

3-2 Wings, with refs making it interesting for MTL Goals, LARKIN x 100000000000 -
Yeah the Joe is the only arena I've been to where they actually allowed me to go right up to the glass. Was 14 at the time and will never forget how blown away I was when Legwand was right in front of me for the Preds . I was surprised how big the NHL players were. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about that arena. I've been to 4 now and nothing is even remotely the same. All seats are top notch thanks to the 1 large bowl. The rafters alone are legendary. Also, if you've been to Baltimore, I'd say you have nothing to worry about in Detroit haha
-
I also had my first game at the Joe, travelling from Sudbury (few hours north of Toronto)about 8 years ago. Its for sure a different atmosphere compared to say, Toronto, but I can comfortably say you have nothing to worry about when it comes to danger. Plan where your going before hand and make sure to go early. Id even try to be there for 5 oclock just to make sure you dont miss ANYTHING. If thats too early just go eat at a restaurant close to the arena or something. Soak up the experience, I found Detroit a very unique city. (Maybe because it was the first time and only time I had seen an American city) The Joe is a beautiful arena on the outside (those steps ) and the actual ice area is beautiful as well. I don't remember where we parked but from what I remember it wasnt bad at all. We walked about 5 minutes to the arena.
