norrisnick 1 Report post Posted August 1, 2005 http://www.allsports.com/nhl/redwings/stor...KopeckyUFA.html Kronwall, MacDonald, Ellis, Bootland, and Kopecky were qualified. Robinson, Groulx, and Ballantyne weren't qualified. I'm surprised Kopecky got another shot and Robinson didn't. Neither had particularly good years but Robinson did have a burst at Syracuse to end the year. Mainly it's his speed that keeps me interested in him. peace
Barnes52 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2005 Excellent news. I predict Bootland and Ellis will be in Detroit to fill out the 4th line.
Erack82 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2005 No gripe about keeping Kopecky? Something must be wrong with Barnes
Barnes52 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2005 I give up...they see something that I obviously don't. If they want to keep him around until he's like 33 yrs old to see if he'll develop like Lang, well I guess it's their money to waste.
eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted August 1, 2005 I would have rather kept Robinson than Bootland...but I supposed Bootland does have some offensive potential. Robinson probably didn't get retained because of his block-hands. I like the resigning of Kopecky...he's had a difficult couple years with injuries, but he should get that righted and get back on track. He has one of the best size/skill combinations the Wings have had in the system for a long time.

Robinson had speed, but he was up to no good.
