gowingsgo 3 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 Didn't he come from a "West Coast offense" type team - Oregon?? Lion need to dump some crappy management (ie. Millen = useless) if they ever hope to improve.... Oregon ran a fun 'n' gun Steve Spurrier type offense with Harrington. They were explosive on offense. If they did call that the west coast offense then they put up a ton of numbers in it
Matt 1,049 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 I just wanted to say I have man-love for Kevin Jones. That is all. /still cooing over the KJ shoulder blast that leveled Ray Lewis
dallas27 7 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 I didnt get to see the game today...we must have been pretty good from the score. Did Orlovsky start? He might as well have. Our running game produced 4 touchdowns. Matt I know which one you are talking about but they butted heads at least 6-7 times, KJ defines beast.
Matt 1,049 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 Man, I tell you, I was hooting and hollering when KJ lowered that shoulder into Lewis in the 3rd quarter and nailed him in the head. Lewis went down like a sack of potatoes grabbing his head. Great stuff.
Heaton 1 Report post Posted October 16, 2005 Seriously, how is Harrington supposed to do anything when he has no time to throw the ball, no time to let his recievers get open, and even when he has time his recievers don't get open anyway. So frusterating.
timothy1997 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2005 come on. The lions are tied with carolina 14-14. As long as the lions DEFENSE makes plays and stays on the field, the lions have a chance. Lions need to suck it up and not let their offense get the ball.

Lions need to suck it up and not let their offense get the ball. The Defense has been great, but if I've learned anything from Baltimore is that you can have the best Defense in the league, but without an offense who can move the ball, they're almost useless. BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted October 16, 2005 The Lions aren't protecting Harrington, but he has to take advantage of the times when he does have enough time and he has an open man. He's not doing that. He's way off target even on those little dump offs in the backfield. He's a psychological mess right now. I never have the feeling that the Lions can do anything with the ball. This Carolina team ranked near the bottom of the league in pass defense, but they look invincible against the Lions offense.
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted October 16, 2005 Having said that, the offensive line is a joke. Harrington is getting crushed out there on every play.

dallas27 7 Report post Posted October 16, 2005 (edited) Thank goodness for the defense, there might be a few articles written up on them the next few days. As the announcers have been saying the right side of o-line does suck this game but Joey has no feel for the protection. It's either he throws it way to early (when he does have time) or waits to long (when he doesn't have time). Gotta throw Garcia in there asap soley for the reason that he has had success with it and Mooch in the past. He may or may not be better but that doesn't matter... *EDIT* it=WCO Edited October 16, 2005 by dallas27
Heaton 1 Report post Posted October 16, 2005 We have like, the 2nd worst offensive line in the league, right ahead of Houston.
dallas27 7 Report post Posted October 16, 2005 Jesus H Christ get Joey out of there, that pick he just threw was freeeakkiinnnngggggg horrible. Thank goodness for the defense, Blowey throws a horrible INT, and what does our defense do? Gets the ball back for us, another INT for the Lions. Our o-line isn't that bad, they did a very good job against Tampa Bay and Baltimore. The right side didn't show up today is all.
Heaton 1 Report post Posted October 16, 2005 Our o-line isn't that bad, they did a very good job against Tampa Bay and Baltimore. I'll give you Tampa Bay, but Baltimore was a joke, they could've put Houstons offensive line in there and they would've looked good. Any offensive line would thrive when the defense gets 15+ penalties.
Heaton 1 Report post Posted October 16, 2005 Welp, Joey comes out, makes two good throws, gets in a little rhythm, and Mike Williams fumbles. Harrington, our line, our running game, our coaching, our play calling is horrid. We're a poor mans Baltimore, with a worse defense and a worse offense. dallas27 7 Report post Posted October 16, 2005 Well, it was nice that Harrington had one big play but doesn't do sh*t with it and settles for a field goal. For some odd reason this lose doesn't surprise me.

For some odd reason this lose doesn't surprise me. Nope, can't do anything when pretty much all of your recievers are hurt, the offensive line gives up like 7 sacks and our QB decides to just check down it all the time. And it also doesn't help when our play calling and offensive coordinator decide to wait until 30 seconds left to pass it down the field.

Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted October 16, 2005 Steve Mariucchi is a goddamn moron. I'll say it again. STEVE MARIUCCHI IS A GOD-DAMNED MORON. If I'm William Clay Ford, I'd have his ass on the next bus out of town. Three and a half minutes to go in the game, Detroit's up by just six (HINT: Yes Mooch, that's less than a touchdown) and he runs two silly predictable run plays right up the middle that they don't get s**t off of. Third down, they're forced to throw, and the ball doesn't even get away. Why didn't they come out throwing? I'll tell you why. Mariucchi is a conservative, predictable little *****. He doesn't play to win. He plays not to lose. And when you play like that, you LOSE. I hate Steve, I hate Joey, I hate all of these idiots.

The best reciever on the team so far this year, Johnson, and Pollard aren't injured. Those two should be plenty to move an offense down the field and score a td or two. Granted the o-line did suck but Joey has to find a way to get it done and he isn't. The time his happy feet would have actually helped him he sticks in the pocket for most the game. See the Pollard catch? They gotta get rid of the right side of the o-line, I'm pretty sure they were responsible for every sack today. And they gotta get rid of Mooch, and the oc, and Millen, and Harrington...you know what? They should just relocate to a different city and rebuild, maybe that will break the qb curse this city has. Heaton 1 Report post Posted October 16, 2005 aying all his recievers are hurt is just another excuse. I wasn't making excuses for Harrington, and you know what, if Johnson is our best receiver, good lord, are we in A LOT of trouble. That statement right there makes our team even look more pathetic.
