Wouldn't it make sense for MSU to get rid of John L and replace him with Mariucci??

Mariucci is a better college coach than an NFL coach. Mariucci has strong ties with Izzo and the team is not likely to get another big name coach like Mariucci.

As a Spartan fan, I support this 100%. However, I would find it unlikely to happen this year....maybe after next terrible season.

What does everyone else think??

As a Spartans fan, I am 100% opposed to this...Exciting playcalling is one thing that the Sparties have going for them- If Mooch goes to E.L., Stanton will throw for like 80 yds a game.

It won't happen regardless, John L. is earning something like 1.6 million a year. It would cost too much to buy him out.

The criticism of Mooch is that his easygoing style works with veterans who can police themselves, but not with a team full of kids who need tough guidance. Why would Mooch make sense for an already undisciplined squad of college kids?

I think it would be highly possible for that to take place. John L. def. needs to go, you can't have a team that see-saws between good and bad as much as the Sparties do. I think Mooch has the kind of coaching personality that would work well with a bunch of young college guys.

No. He needs to come to my school. Gary Barnett got fired yesterday, and CU needs a quality coach. I'm praying they'll take a shot at Mooch or Butch Davis, but thats probably just a pipe dream.
