this is why i love the tournament.

NORTHWESTERN STATE OVER IOWA!!!! YOU HAVE GOT TO BE F***ING KIDDING ME!!!

Although I've never paid any attention to them at all in the past, gotta love when my state schools win! laugh.gif

N'western State, for anybody who gives a hoot, is about 70 miles SE from Shreveport. Central Louisiana is as boring as it gets in the country. I've only been to the town that NW State is located in and it's pretty nice, but SUPER BORING.

biggrin.gif i was way off to where i thought that school was. By the geographic name, i thought it was somewhere in the pacific northwest. Guess geography was not a high subject in the south, ie the Univ of South Florida is located in Tampa, FL.

LOL yeah...not really many people outside of Louisiana probably have heard much of the school.

The town the school is located in is Natchitoches.

I've seen them play basketball once years and years ago back when I was in college and they played a road game.

They are actually a really solid 1-AA football program. Not dominate at that level but they rarely have many losing seasons whenever I check. We had to have a fill in game at my school back in 2001 and NW State was the fill-in, they actually pulled the upset and beat us. Just about everybody was shocked. I was disappointed obviously, but I wasn't really surprised much because the team could play.

Bradley, Wichita State, and George Mason have crashed the Sweet 16 uninvited so far. Good for them. And either Wichita State or George Mason will make the Elite 8 to likely play UConn.

Bonus: Ohio State is getting a straight-up beating from Georgetown, down by 13 at the half.

And Duke is out!!!

I'm a pretty big LSU fan and have been flippig between the Wings game tonight and the LSU-Duke game and from what I saw, J.J Reddick was shut down and Tyrus Thomas was just nuts for LSU, if you manage to watch LSU's next game in the Elite Eight keep an eye on him, he has a ridiculous vertical leap.

Those late game last night we're both incredible. WOW!

that gonzaga game was unbelievable. You can clearly see how emotional game it was by just the reaction Adam Morrison had at the end. I felt bad for the guy. He is one of the NCAA's best players and going to be great in the NBA. If Morrison returns to college, look out. He will be on a mission and Gonzaga might finally be able to make it over the hump.

Also in the Duke game, what a heartbreaker way for JJ Redick to go out. Redick couldn't hit the side of a barn tho last night. Missed 15 shots and just a sad way for him to leave college.

I love great college basketball players whom stay for all 4 years. Rare to see that anymore.

LSU-Texas game just concluded a few minutes ago and held true to form of exciting NCAA Tourney action. It was a slugfest to say the least.

Tyrus Thomas for LSU (#12) was amazing again, just swatting shots away and making acrobatic moves in the paint. Glen "Big Baby" Davis (#0) will surprise a lot of people. He weighs roughly 315 pounds but is surprisingly agile. He's got good footwork and while I wouldn't mistake his shooting with J.J. Reddick, he'll usually hit a long jump shot or an infrequent 3-pointer if you leave him open.

Glad to see them go to the Final Four. If you tune in, watch Thomas and Davis, they are fun to see.

George Mason is in the Final Four! Holy s**t!

Now they've beaten MSU, UNC, and UConn...to say nothing of Wichita State, which pulled off a big upset of their own. Anybody think Mason could go all the way?

I DID!! I HAD GEORGE MASON IN MY BRACKET!!!

Unreal!

I've been in the office most of the day so no hoops action for me.

But, they've knocked off three really solid programs so far. The odds will still be against them, but they've done it 3 of 5 times so far, no reason to see why they can't pull it off.

With tourneys like this, you don't need to be the best team around to win it all throughout an entire season. You've got to play consistent ball throughout, no doubt about it, but if you catch fire near the end of the season with a record that might not be the greatest, anything can happen.

Agreed.... With no on above 6'7" GMU is all heart. However they've yet to play against a talented AND cohesive unit, and that's about to change.

I don't really care who wins at this point since my bracket was destroyed some long ago. GWU winning would be something else though.
