Yeah, i think I said this in another post to you or someone else, but Franzen returning, at this moment, is not clear at all. Yeah we would be stupid to let him go, but we also don't want to be put in a position to have to overpay him either. I wouldn't be surprised if Franzen is playing in Sweden this season.

There is no toughness on the market right now, so our best option in order to get goals is Carter, and if you ask me, if we can't get the toughness, I still would not mind the goals, he'll score 30+ here. Some people hate Carter, who knows maybe they're racist, but I think he'd do well here and next year when we lost a bunch of guys we can address toughness more in detail. IF we re-sign Franzen, we'll have a good core of guys, and Kopecky who will get a full stint. We have no brutal beat the crap out of everyone tough guys but we do have a few guys who will be tough nonetheless:

Samuelsson

Maltby

Markov

Kronwall

Chelios

Lilja if he can get his s*** together

Those are all capable guys, who will be strong on the puck, and play a strong game, they may not be bruisers, but they won't be pushed around either.

I totally agree with you..if we cant get a tough guy lets get a guy who can score some goals...i also think that we should stop bashing Carter... lets aleast give the guy a chance if he does end up singing here!! :!:
