Cullimore for Gagne?! Now that's a deal never going down. It's not even worthy the status of a rumor. If Detroit were to trade forGagne it would cost either Zetterberg, Datsyuk+ or Kronwall+. I could easily live with one of the latter two.

Yeah, if Philly is having a "fire sale" the first thing they'd want to do is trade away one of there best commiditys for an UFA, with 3.9 mil remaining on his last year of his contract. The rest of your post speaks for itself, and it's ridiculous.

Bwa-ha-ha, Cullimore for Gagne. Maybe we can offer Lilja for Gagne. The Flyers would be insane to trade him, but if Holmgren's looking to "make an impact," he should remember how the Flames' Doug Risebrough tried to "make an impact" back in the 90s and traded Doug Gilmour for a bunch of undiluted crap. As for us getting Gagne, itt'd take more than Grigorenko and any other dead weight on our roster; like someone else said, you'd better start with Howard and toss in a Kronwall orFilppula. I'd rather wait for free agency or, if we're actually in the race at trade deadline time, pick someone off some non-contender's team for cheap.

Put Lebda and Liv there. Some speed to their defence and prospective goaltending. That wouldn't be enough, so put Datsyuk there to complete the trade:

Gagne + 2nd <> Datsyuk + Lebda + Liv

Gagne - Zetterberg - Samuelsson

Franzen - Lang - Williams

Holmström - Filppula - Hudler/Kopecky

Maltby - Draper - Cleary

I think there isn't many goaltenders who are a big improvement comparing to Niittymäki. You saw how awesome he was at the Olympics behind a REAL defence. No one is great behind the Flyers-defence at the moment.

But if not Liv, how about Larsson...?

I think there isn't many goaltenders who are a big improvement comparing to Niittymäki. You saw how awesome he was at the Olympics behind a REAL defence. No one is great behind the Flyers-defence at the moment.

Exactly, the Flyers defense is the main problem. Which is why they might bite on Kronwall+. I think that is our only shot, if Gagne is even available. He's a premier goalscorer, the Flyers simply isn't gonna give him away.

I think Larsson is too young and too unproven at this point to render much interest in Philadelphia. They're in a situation similar to Detroit, there's no time to rebuild. People expect results right away.

we're not trading Kronwall. Thats just a bullsh*t cop out. He's better than Gagne for this team. Think about it with Lids, Chelly and Schnids getting ready for their golf days. You just don't trade your young up and coming D guys when the shift is about to hit its tipping point.

Sources tell me that the if things don't turn around this weekend the Flames and Flyers may hook up in a major deal. And I mean MAJOR. This is a major league rumor and is fun to speculate on. Both these teams are living parallel lives right now. Neither can score, but both have too much talent. The trade rumor I have heard speculated on (from now 3 separate sources) is Gagne, Umberger and Claude Giroux for Iginla, Tim Ramholt and Dustin Boyd. Can you see it now? “Boyd’s of Philadelphia.†(inside joke for Philly folks)
