I feel with Williams being benched tonight for the Datsyuk return, and the fact that he was benched over Hudler and Langfeld also, that something may be up with him. As far as I know, he was a healthy scratch, and that either could mean that Babcock is sending him a message to get his s*** together or that he may be getting read to be traded perhaps?

Does anyone else think anything of this? Just thought I'd put it out there for some rumor discussion since it seems a strong possibility that he could be trade bait.

Its a possibility . Wouldnt be terrible if he was traded in a deal for Doan/Smyth , or even if it raises his play.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Kinda shocking he'd bench Willie over Huds and Langfeld. Although, I think Huds and Langer have been doing really well the past week or so.

Williams was terrible in the game against L.A., and made a couple unbelievably bone-headed decisions. It could be a trade, but it just might be Babcock had enough.

True. Plus if I remember correctly after a few giveaways/turnovers by Willie his ice time drastically decreased as the game went on. Flip started playing much more...even with Willie's linemates Cleary, and Langer.
