Guest Crymson Report post Posted February 20, 2007 How much does that crazy bastard cost? He costs an average of about 4 penalty minutes per game. 7 points in 39. No thanks.
JeeSpot82 10 Report post Posted February 20, 2007 He's also on the playoff-bound Dallas Stars. Why would they become sellers, or trade with a conference rival, and even a potential first round match-up?
Winged Scooter 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2007 How much does that crazy bastard cost? Crazy bastard, that's agreat way of stating it! Isn't he great on face offs though? ( however, I don't think face offs would be enough to overcome all the stupid penalties...)

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted February 20, 2007 I don't see this happening. For one thing, the Buffalo News reported on Feb. 6, that Barnaby may be considering retirement after numerous concussions, the last of which in December rendered him temporarily blind in one eye. His wife reminded him that he might wish to survive for the sake of their two small children.... If he is worried about taking the ice in Dallas, why would we want to risk him coming to Detroit? No, thank ya.
toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted February 20, 2007 He used to be? Nope....he's not a centreman, he's a winger. And even when he does take a draw (few and far between) he normally loses it. 05/06 - 11 draws (45%) 03/04 - 24 draws (45%) 02/03 - 5 draws (40%) 01/02 - 13 draws (30%)
Airborn 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2007 Even if he wasn't on a playoff bound team, he's injured (his career is even in doubt) because of concussions. However, I did read that he'd starting skating again, so we'll see.
SoupGuru 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2007 I don't see it happening at all either. I just think if the stars aligned (heh), he'd be worth going after since I hate him when we play against him because of his abrasive style and severe lack of fear. He's an agitator like Avery or Maltby but is still willing to drop the gloves with anyone and everyone. I heard about his health issues too and that really sucks. I hope he does what's best for his family.

Both Avery and Barnaby are agitators, yes, and they will drop the gloves, yes--though Avery gets his ass kicked more often than not--but they also take massive amounts of penalties. Who wants that liability? Case in point of 'not worth it': sure, Martin Lapointe can fight--but he also sucks ass in just about every other department, especially intelligence. $2.4m? Give me Norton instead. Edited February 20, 2007 by Crymson
