Anyone see this? Just thought it might be interesting to post. It's been quite a transistion for him, but I think he's getting over leaving Edmonton.

It just also occured to me: If Smyth does good with the Isles, I wonder if they'll throw him an offer "he can't refuse" like with DiPietro. You never know what could happen with them.

Good to hear. I hate bringing up the "A" word, but it seems like they're still having trouble drawing more than 13,000 fans.

Really? I can't believe that. They were a bad team last year, but people still went. That DiPietro fiasco must have really angered the fans.

Did anyone watch hockey night in canada yesterday, when they had Edmonton's general manager on after hours to talk to him about trading Ryan Smyth. He was seriously almost in tears. I felt semi-bad for the guy.

Yeah i watched that last night as well.. But it was a move that Lowe had to make, though in my opinion the oilers didn't just near what they should of for Smyth

Yeah, he definitely had to do that. I believe he said that he actually feared for his life, because people were so pissed with the move. I get what he was saying, but yeah, I don't do quite enough.

Wasnt it on the pregame (or was it the first intermission report) where the studio crew was talking about the deal. If its true that the team offered 5.4 million a year yet he wouldnt budge on 5.5 million then its bulls***. Dont go on TV and start crying that you got traded and saying your heart is in Edmonton. I guess 5.4 million a year isn't enough to live on anymore.
