Wasn't too bad, was kind of a boring game, neither team looked too good.

Detroit was shooting the puck into blocked lanes all night especially on the power play, and nabokov looked really good.

SJ played the perfect road game...props to them

As a Sharks fan, that was how I saw it. The Sharks looked good the first half of the first period. The Sharks scored on their one PP chance, then got the turnover on the next shift to get the 2-0 lead. Sharks fans knew Wilson would go defensive the rest of the way. (We hate it. Sharks have blown some games this year.) Solid game from Nabokov to close out the game.

Sharks ARE a good road team. Good to get the early lead in this series but, as I said in another thread, the Sharks are the type of team that can come back from a 3-0 deficit or blow a 3-0 lead. I still believe this will be a long series that can go either way.

i didnt say he played horrible or anything...i just meant that i didnt think that it was the best choice by babs to put calder on that line with z and pav. He didnt click with them at all. I think they should have someone bigger who has a better scoring touch than calder.

Wow. I didn't realize we were playing Minnesota this series. I hated watching games against them, and tonight I kept changing the channel, hoping that when I flipped back the Wings would have scored. We need to beat their asses next game.

Rivet said it right in his interview, he didn't seem to think the Sharks played all that well either, but.. of course that doesn't say much about our effort. Oh well, no "doom 'n gloom" here, let's get 'em Saturday!

But I concur with Crood, Wings played like s***, AND .. believe it or not took it to the Sharks quite a bit in stretches. That's just it though, bit of inconsistency.

Kopecky is healthy and ready to play. I think that we leave the lineup as is for game 2, but if any of the guys struggling struggle again, and homer is still out, kopecky may not be a bad idea for game 3

What can we say? Your guys did a hell of a job clogging up the shooting and passing lanes. That's what it came down to. That and 24 seconds of suck from the Wings.

Lidstrom didn't even impress too much tonight. He had a couple bad turnovers and took a bad penalty on the power play goal. BUT Lids is a great player and a good captain and will bounce back with a super strong game next game, so I'm not too upset

I was just about to make a post saying "So much for the huge San Jose forwards and our defense not being able to cover them."

The Sharks didn't generate much at all when they were in the Wings zone. The second goal was the Wings' fault.

I don't think their coach let them generate chances, as stupid as that sounds.. SO defensive after the Grier goal. Meh, different day Saturday - - Lilja/Schneider weren't very good tonight though, Quincey was better.

Quincey has been really good for us, I think that the Schneider-Lilja pairing is kind of a s***ty pairing, I mean Lilja has looked a lot better, but they can both be defensive liabilities. I wouldn't mind move Quincey up and splitting those two guys up
