Question about the city

So Im new around here (A Big Ducks Fan who doesn't trash talk). I just bought tickets to game 7 for Thursday (if it happens). My question is: Do you guys tailgate for the game. I live in Cleveland, Ohio and driving out around 2. I want to know what there is to do around the city. Let me know!!!

I've never heard of actual tailgating at a Wings game, but Greektown is really hopping with Wings fans beforehand. It's tradition for my family to have dinner at Old Parthenon and then head over for cocktail hour and the pre-game skate at the Joe.

Cobo Joe's across the street is also a heavy favorite for pre-game cocktails.

And then there's always Hockeytown Cafe.

Just about every place downtown will have a shuttle to the game or access to one.

As for tailgating, I've never seen it for Wings games. But some places that will definitely be full of Wings fans (if you don't mind hanging out amongst the enemy  ) would be Hockeytown Cafe (on Woodward, easy to spot with giant hockey puck sticking out of the roof) and Cheli's Chili (near Comerica Park and also very easy to see).

And I'll toss in another vote for Greektown. You can park at the casino garage (I think it's on Beaubien?) and validate parking inside the casino....and of course, there be bars, gambling and terrific Greek food. If you're the Irish pub type, the Old Shillelagh is like kitty-corner from the casino.

You can get around with the People Mover (50 cents for the ride) or just walk, the Joe is not much more than a 10-minute walk from Greektown or the Hockeytown Cafe.

We tailgate on top of Cobo... well drink beers in our car and then everytime i finish on I cheer and say "$6!!!!" then pick up another one.

Tailgating is frowned upon for hockey at least in detroit.

There really isn't much to do in Detroit... its not that user friendly yet.

Well it's been years since I've been to the JLA, but on a few occasions before games I'd see a man mainlining heroin underneath Jefferson Ave on Riverfront. Never saw him actually AT the game.

Pretty sure that's not what you're asking about though. (Or it might be - I don't know about you Ducks fans)

Everywhere but the actual lot of the joe was a ghost town last time i was out at the joe this year, theres not much places to tailgate besides on top of cobo, so id say go up there if you want at least something
