According to Holland, we've got 8 million to spend on a forward, a depth defenseman, Hasek, and Hudler.

Hasek is going to resign for about 2.5. Hudler isn't going to get anything more than 1.5, do you think? At least, he shouldn't. So you've got 4 million to sign th eother two. I don't know if this includes Bert or not, but I would love to see Sykora in a Wings uniform.

Hudler isnt touching 1.5M, unless its a long term contract. It was already mentioned on this board that if Hudler were to go to arbitration, then hed likely get 900k. And arbitration always overpays players.

Hasek for 2.5, Hudler for 800k, 1.75 for Vishnevski, 3.25 for Bert

To round things up:

Darryl Sydor was signed by PIT (2yr, 5m total)

Petr Sykora was signed by PIT (2yr)

So who is basically left for us filling that forward role?

Plus: If Holland can't find anybody to fill that depth D spot, I personally would give Quincey a try. We're not that shallow at D as everybody says...

Has there been any news on Bert... I haven't even heard mention of him.

Calgary is very interested in Bertuzzi and they need another top forward badly!

latest wings news per spector:

" The Wings still hope to have Dominik Hasek re-signed soon and hope to re-sign Todd Bertuzzi, although yesterday's signings might drive up his value. The Wings might re-sign Danny Markov but his value too may have risen. The Free Press suggests the Wings might pass on Bertuzzi if his value rises over $2.5 million per season.

Spector's Note: You can bet Bertuzzi's agent is shopping around to see if he can find a better deal for his client. It remains to be seen if Markov's still an option for the Wings after signing Brian Rafalski yesterday. "

Forget about Nylander to Edmonton. He settled a 4yr, 19.5m total contract with the Capitals.

Hamrlik is in Montreal: 4yr, 12m total

And finally: The Hawks have signed someone "who is lazy and sucks" for the next two years.

Kenny had better get Bert back in Detroit. Lots of players are being scooped up. So, If we don't resign Bert, theres less and less talent available to sign, and with less and less talent available, it's more likely a team will take a chance on Bert to sure up their offence.

Have heard that Bertuzzi has signed with Anaheim.....trying to confirm...

O GOD!! I hope not... C'mon Bert, don't sell out.

Where did you hear this?
