Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted July 9, 2007 when else has he been right on a prediction made more than an hour before it's on TSN? To be fair, he's 3-for-3 in predicting where the sun will rise and set.
WhiteLightning91 105 Report post Posted July 9, 2007 (edited) I beleive he was right with Mr. Rafalski before TSN even had it up Eklund doesn't need to worry about losing his credibility or getting sued by anyone by posting a story the minute he hears it. TSN on the other hand has to take the time and actually do research into a story before they post it. That is why Eklund always breaks a story first. He has nothing to lose. Everyone already knows he's a moron... Edited July 9, 2007 by WhiteLightning91
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted July 9, 2007 (edited) I beleive he was right with Mr. Rafalski before TSN even had it up That's my point. The only time Eklund is right is when he posts a signing an hour or less before it's on a legit site. That's very different from talking about a potential signing or trade days in advance and then having it happen. Eklund can beat out TSN because he doesn't have to verify sources or vet his facts before he posts them. EDIT: And I understand they're only rumors that he's posting. But for the trade rumors he posts to have any value, shouldn't they occasionally be right? Edited July 9, 2007 by haroldsnepsts

Yzermaniac192005 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2007 Eklund's a moron. You want some good predictions? Go to Spectorshockey.net Not many people have heard of the site but I've been going there for years. The guy is very intelligent and his predictions are usually right on the nose. He takes all the rumors he can find from newspapers across the nation and then puts together a very smart prediction. Normally he's right on.

YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted July 9, 2007 Ohlund-Salo Mitchell-Bieksa Miller-Krajicek Luongo Thats one of the best defense groups in the NHL right now. But their forward group leaves a lot to be desired.

I called Dom being back once we fell out of the Luongo sweepstakes. I realize we had a Belfour thing going on but I just never saw that happening. Maybe I should start my own rumor website and call it the Anit-Eklund

Yzermaniac192005 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2007 Yes, please do. I promise I'll hit it. I refuse to hit Eklund anymore. Haha I would if it didn't cost so much to buy a domain and then keep up the site. I wonder if we could have like a letsgowings.com/traderumors or something? I'd be glad to maintain it but I wonder if thats possible..

Maybe I should start my own rumor website and call it the Anit-Eklund Well you weren't on these boards calling it. I started the thread in the General Discussion section and not 1 person gave it a chance of happening and then it got moved to RM. It's easy to say you called something, 20/20. theman19 47 Report post Posted July 10, 2007 we've got a guy on here who's Dats' personal webmaster. He called a new contract with the correct terms a day before it happened. He got lambasted and then his thread was moved to rumor mill. Needless to say some people felt foolish. Legitimate hockey news is out there before it hits the freep, you've just got to know where to look.
Yzermaniac192005 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2007 Well you weren't on these boards calling it. I started the thread in the General Discussion section and not 1 person gave it a chance of happening and then it got moved to RM. It's easy to say you called something, 20/20. I dont call it out here on these boards because its really a waste of time. Things move so fast on this site and people start so many rumors that it becomes hidden. For instance, I could start a threat that said, "Dom will be a Wing this year" last year and everyone else will start doing the same. Suddenly the trade rumors are full of everyone's opinion and mine gets lost and no one sees it. So thats why I proposed a letsgowings.com/traderumors where myself and some other credible members could help run it. obviously Matt would have to start it but he shouldn't have to run the thing on his own. Just an idea though we've got a guy on here who's Dats' personal webmaster. He called a new contract with the correct terms a day before it happened. He got lambasted and then his thread was moved to rumor mill. Needless to say some people felt foolish. Legitimate hockey news is out there before it hits the freep, you've just got to know where to look. Yeah I remember that too, but it makes perfect sense. For all we know though, there could be people on this board who are insiders on the Wings. Heck, for all you know I could be a Red Wing. No one really knows who the other is, but we can read each others opinions and predictions - some are just smarter then others and obviously in his case, have better sources then others lol.
