NHL Network on Cox Cable (finally!)

For those that already have access to this station, such as myself, are you really fussed with it? To be honest, I very rarely watch the channel.

Well it is kindof exciting to actually see hockey highlights and something devoted to hockey for a change instead of the garbage ESPN tries to feed us.

I guess that is true. Living in Canada, I can get a huge selection of hockey highlights from many different channels. I think the only times I have watched the channel is on a rare occasion I watch an old classic game, or something like that (if I'm even thinking of the right channel).

On the other thread, I found an article that should have your answer.

"Sources with the three biggest cable operators, Comcast, Time Warner and Cox, as well as satellite operator DirecTV say they are still negotiating to carry the network, and expect to complete a deal soon. EchoStar wasn’t available for comment, though it appears likely that Dish Network is close to a deal, as well, since its customer service representatives were selling the NHL Center Ice package last week.

Here is the link.

NEW Article

The National Hockey League's channel is now on Time Warner Cable's NY/NJ sports tier and coming to other TWC divisions including San Antonio. Comcast, which committed to carry the NHL Network as part of its Versus hockey deal, is busy rolling out TBS HD and NFL Network HD on a market-by-market basis.

Cable operators, along with DirecTV and Dish Network, also renewed a deal via In Demand Networks for the NHL Center Ice out-of-market package. A free preview (through Tuesday) offers a sneak peak at the $149/season ($169 after Oct. 9) package's new four-screen mosaic that rotates live hockey games.

I guess I'll have to call Time Warner to see if its going to be offered in Green Bay, WI. Sounds like just a select few cities right now are the ones that get it.

Sidenote: How does the four screen mosaic work? Is there a specific Center Ice channel that offers the mosaic?

Just made my yearly call to Time Warner in Cincinnati......

They claim, just like last year, that they "are working on a contract" for both Versus and the NHL Network.

Same story, new season. This time every year I realize how far Cincy actually is from the D.

I am surprised that Time Warner doesn't have a contract with them yet. My cable company Millennium, which no one has ever heard of, even has Vs. now. I just dropped an email to them seeing if they have any info about the NHL Network. They probably won't but I can dream. Like some said ESPN sucks for hockey info or highlights except for when you get into the cup finals they will show more but thats just cause there isn't much else going on besides the NBA finals and some baseball.

Time Warner in Green Bay, WI (which is where I am) has a contract with them. I've gotten Center Ice now for the third year through them. Now its just a matter of seeing if they'll make the NHL Network available in my area.

Is this the American or Canadian NHL Network? And when is the NHL getting it 15 million?

It's the Canadian programming, because I checked the schedule on the Canadian NHL network site and it followed the one I have
