I went with Danny Markov on this one. It just seams like every team loves having extra depth on the blue-line. And a guy like Markov can bring, grit, speed and solid defense to any team that signs him. Although, he might wanna lower his asking price a touch. Or else he might not see any NHL action this season. But there's still other free agents out there that can bring alot to the table. So who do you all think most teams would want the most?

Markov would be a good pickup for any team that needs a veteran defensive defenseman capable of top 4 minutes. He is not the most coveted, though IMHO. Forsberg will remain the top prize. He is always a risk, but even below 100% the guy can be a game changer.

Personally, I wouldn't give any of these guys a shot if I'm a GM in the NHL, except for maybe Markov, but only if he lowers his asking price.

P.S.

Did anybody know that Tony Amonte was still in the NHL? It was sad watching him against us last year in the playoffs being a complete non-factor.

IMO they're all a bunch of misfit toys destined for retirement...That said I chose O'Neill; guy still has good hands, & decent ability, but since he played with T.O. he comes across as damaged goods (brothers death still lingering?).

Seeing Anson Carter on that list gives me a big  .....Talk about a complete moron; the guy has a career year (1 good year that is), & he thinks he's all that, & then some...Well he wasn't smart enough take the offer that the Canucks had on the table (guy didn't realise that the Sedin boys made him look really good), & look where he is now

Couldn't agree more. Definitely a guy I would never want in the Winged Wheel.

The only problem is. You can't make a difference in the game if you're not on the ice. Although I do agree, that when healthy, the dude is amazing. It just seams that his body never holds up. And I think that factors in to alot of NHL gms out there. But yeah the guy is a complete game changer when he's out there.

While I voted for Forsberg. I just have say while I don't want him as a Wing I do think that Anson Carter is a very good hockey player. He is a great team guy and will do anything for his team to win. Probably the only reason that Carter hasnt been signed was that in a pre-season game he got a concussion from a cheap hit by Belak. Up to that point it looked as though the Oilers were going to sign him.

Nobody on that list sparks any interest. Forsberg and Lindros are vegetables, Markov is overpaid and wants too much money, Friesen sucks in the new NHL, Amonte hasn't been anything of relevance in almost 5 years, Carter is lazy, soft, and only scores when he's playing with the Sedins, O'Neill comes with a lot of unnecessary emotional baggage, and there is no point in signing Joseph since we already have Hasek and Osgood. He's purely a backup now, and doesn't fit here.

Even though we'd actually never sign him, I wouldnt mind Lindros for cheap, he'd be a hell of a lot better then Sammy. Same wtih O'neill.

I agree on that aspect, but Lindros will probably retire anyways.

O'Neill will never sign with a Western Conference team because of his fear of flying. Again, it's that emotional baggage he brings that really isn't needed.
