According to Spectors and Eurohockey.net goaltender Robert Esche has signed a contract with the Ak Bars Kazan of the Russian Super League.

Esche wasn't a very good goalie, but I'm surprised that he wasn't able to land on a team anywhere. Someone like the LA Kings or any other team that has bad goaltending could have used him.

Yeah i'm mystified why the kings havn't tried someone,..anyone to play. I'd have thought by now cujo would have signed there.

Esche to the Kings would have been more of the same.

They need a veteran, not another B-goaltender who wants another shot in the NHL...

Curtis Joseph would be a good match, IMO.

But good for Esche though. The Russian league is maybe more his thing.

one thing i don't get is why NA players go to russia. With the way things are done over there i'd be scared to death. It's a lot of money but i dunno.

Esche is a big boy, he'll be ok in big scary Russia. :D to bad Felix Potvin can't find a gig elsewhere
