daniel1 32 Report post Posted October 22, 2007 Well I mean it's not like the guy's out there doing nothing like some make it out to be. Since he's came here he's had 83 pts. in 130 gp., and had 11pts. in 18 playoff games last season. Seems like good production for an unknown 3rd liner making 1.2 mil. He's never had a good season until he came to the Wings and they gave him a real chance. He played 4 games for S.J., and was a fourth line guy in Fla. and N.Y. Babcock does like him and for good reason, he plays a good game and produces. Just because he doesn't shatter peoples jaws doesn't mean he's not a decent player. Who would be promoted to a top six guy over him? Cleary's the only guy who could possibly right now, and he doesn't produce as much as Sammy. I think he'd be more well recived if his name was Mike Samuel from Yellow Knife. I don't think I've seen anyone including my self have some sort of LOVE for sammy. Just a few of us who watch and actually notice what the guy brings, and think it's silly he's turned into a whipping boy. edit- Well we all know how smart some fans around the leauge are. I'd form my own opinions on players before looking to see how popular they are. It's funny you mention that, I was thinking the same thing about Sammy. If he was a Red Deer Alberta boy I think that would change people's perception of him. If he dropped the gloves once in a while he would be a favorite on here as well. He does make some good plays, probably shoots a little too often and not from the best positions but he does have a good shot so I guess that's what the coaches tell him to do. Actually his game reminds me of Mike Johnson when he played for Toronto and Phoenix, although I have no idea where he is now... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The Sharks, who many pick as a Cup contender this year, are suddenly "deflated" by the scoring of one goal with plenty of time left to come back in the game. NOT! esteef Yeah because a 100' shot from Lids didn't have any affect on Vancouver and Cloutier, right? Yeah, I have never seen a goalie give up a weak goal and it affect the whole team? Sarcasm off! No one can ever be given a nice comment on here, Im positive everyone on the Wings were excited after that fight, they dont say the s*** I hear on here "He's useless, he sucks, he can only fight and has alot of giveaways" Man, I dont like it. I do love how good Ellis is playing, He should be a regular or Kopecky. It's not about the money, it's about his play. He's not a very good player, most fans around the league dont even know who Mikeal Samuleson is, and why should they? I dont know for the life of me why he's a second liner. On most teams he wouldnt be, Babs obviously likes him, and if he does, that's fine, he is the coach, he knows what he's doing, but that doesnt make Sammy a good player. You dont understand the bashing, I dont understand the love, what has he ever done? Nothing, a couple of decent seasons for us and SJ that's about it.
