I hope you haven't bought a new EDGE Jersey yet

I bought one of the new jerseys a couple of weeks ago, I like the style, I have no problems with it at all...I'm not wearing it on the ice or anything but I really like the way the Wings jersey looks...some of the other ones look foolish but I like the Red Wings one

But the old fabirc doesn't stretch like the new fabric does...if they keep the same tight styling, isn't that going to make the jersey more restrictive?? Reebok needs to just do a huge mea culpa and go back to the old style with the old fabric. If the teams want to keep their new, "everything but the kitchen sink" designs, fine. But I still believe in the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" and there was nothing wrong with the CCM-style jerseys. And they didn't rip wide open like they were made of crepe paper during a fight.

Players have already "solved" the problem by wearing larger jersey sizes to return to the roomier look and feel.

I agree... I've had no urge at all to buy an EDGE jersey (particularly at the "new" prices to boot!) and will be sporting my nice CCM jersey tonight at The Joe!

Similar bitching going on over at UM, Gear changing to Addidas from Nike which is a huge let down, people are pissed.

The RBK crap really isn't very good. Just out of giggles I stopped at Perani's and looked at them...junk

Has anybody heard any goalie comments on these things. Are they constrictive? Do they make netminding more difficult?

Anybody have any inside information for me!

Cam Ward said that they make him look fat.

The change in materials could make it seem/be a little more difficult to move arms into position on saves. By that I the difference in resistance from the tighter uniform. For example, moving in a tshirt as opposed to a thermal long sleeve shirt.

My interpretation of collective source postings:

The new jersey's are here to stay.

Non-stretching panel pieces may be replaced with the old material if requested.

I am curious about who is paying for the ripped jerseys though. I feel it should be rbk but does anyone know?

From the Boston Herald.

It's too bad, really. I like the look of the new jersey's; haven't bought one though.

Apparently many of the goalies are changing sweaters every period, as all the sweat funnels into the gloves. THey were talking about this during the Kings game last night...

...as if gloves don't stink enough, eh?

I noticed late in tonight's game that the lower half of Osgood's sleeves were soaked through.

As for the goalies and the jersey fits, they've "upsized" the jerseys. I saw a good photo comparison of Backstrom and Turco from the pre-season. Backstrom had on a jersey that was pretty form fitting in the arms, but Turco's sleeves had the usual roomy look to them.

I too am glad the new jearseys are history. The guys just looked silly in the tight jearseys. Plus, I have been really wanting a Draper jearsey, but not the reebok style...they just look stupid.
