Zetterberg says he wants to spend his whole career in Detroit

As far as I know Z has always wanted to stay in Detroit. He hasn't been compared to Stevie constantly for no reason. Quite literally the cornerstone of this franchise, it's time we lock him up for life. (And I don't mean in the dirty sense...I think...)

It is news from the summer like people said, but it's not bad to see again.

But in a team that's been gutted of attention-grabbing stars, Z is a breath of fresh air. And I agree with HR40.. and it doesn't hurt that you see a little Yzerman in him when Hank skates up the boards sometimes.

i like it a lot, but i was hopin he might take a discount and get a lil less than dats

He did that last contract. He'll likely take less than he deserves, to help the team, but I would be surpised if he got less than Dats this time.

Class act.

No need to be. There is no way he'll be making less than Dats. Right now I'm expecting a salary in the range of $7.5 - $8 million dollar range given the cap. If he gives the Wings a hometown discount it will be in the ballpark of $7 million per for 6+ years.
