Wings playing exceptional hockey!

Guest Canadian Wings

Well, what more can you say really. The Wings are 11-2-1 to start the year, and now don't play again until Wednesday night at home to the Predators. I have been very impressed with this team this year, even more so then i expected. I like them better then last years version, simply because we got rid of some players that didn't seem to give there all, all the time. The players we have play into our system extremely well.

Our next string of games are against division opponents, at one time or other you could sit back and basically expect wins, well, not any more. The Blue Jackets and Blues are playing great hockey themselves, and the Hawks are a .500 hockey team. So these games should be a bit more entertaining to say the least.

All in all, while the Wings have a little break here, i just wanted to say for the most part, i've appreciated the effort boys!

This is becoming a Babcock team, which is a good thing, either you earn ice time or you sit your ass down and like it.

The effort this team puts out there on the ice night in and night out is impressive.

Man have they been fun to watch. The scary part is that still not all of goal scorers have steped up yet. We are playing fast and with passion it seems. I just hope we can keep this style of play up and build on it in the playoffs.

Z is playing out of his mind as well and i pry that he keeps on this amazin pace all season.

Or as I like to put it:

"No One" is lazy and he sucks

I knew Ralf would fit in well, but not this well, on the PP he and lids seem to be step for step with each other and passing very crisply and setting each other up.

Although on that first goal last night it looked like they had a little Led Zeppelin, you know communication break down!!!!

This team has a good mix of players and I wish I could watch them more often, I may just suck it up and pay for center ice!!!

scary thing is that were 11-2-1..and...

Pavel hasn't really caught fire yet, although he leads the league in assists.

2nd line is still off a bit

Mule's coming back from injury

Hasek's not played well so far and has been injured

Lids and Rafalski are still getting used to each other.

If we even fix 1/2 those things just think how scary we're going to be?

11-2-1, we've played all the strongest western teams and beaten them all apart from that redicilous ducks game, and we're not firing on all cylinders yet. If i was the rest of the league i'd be scared s***less.

i agree with this little list, and I've got another one to add: the fact that we still have ample cap room to pick up one more solid scoring threat when the time comes (which we inevitably will). I look forward to seeing what magic Holland will produce come the trade deadline!

I just hope Holland doesn't so something unnecessary just to do something. Again with a NE reference for you:

Theo Epstien signs Eric Gagne, and almost costs the Sox the division and a playoff appearance altogether. The sox were 2.5 games from losing the division at one point which would have made them the wild card leader by 3.5. And with Gagne continuing to suck ass, the Sox could have missed the playoffs, instead Francona never (well in pivotal moments) plays him again and the Sox win the world series.

Please Ken Holland I beg of you do not make a trade simply to appease the people who think you have to make a trade at the deadline. If some one good is out there than by all means do it, but don't mortgage the future just to say you made a deal!!!

that is a good point, but realistically, ur talking about mlb. i mean, teams like boston and new york, LA, and Chicago being financially inferior in a league with no hard cap, have the ability to bring in big names like that so long as they can afford him (an they will be able to because they survive in such a huge market).

in the nhl, where gms have to be far more careful about the moves they make, because of the cap, they are never going to rush into any rash decisions. on top of that, and note that I may just be speaking on a Rafalski high rite now, but Holland really knows what he's doing! ha

And once we lose a game...

"We have no solid goaltenders anymore..."

"Our team is too old"

"Our team is too soft"

"Our team is too slow"

"Trade Lilja and Sammy for a bag of pucks"

"This team won't make it anywhere with that 2nd line"

Ad nauseum..

To be honest I knew Rafalski would fit right in; he has alot more to offer than Schneider could have ever hoped for...Unlike Matty blasting away from the point - Brian has the ability to move the puck, & create prime scoring chances while on the pp

EDIT - I'd bet if we had Rafalski on the team for the playoffs this past spring - we'd be the defending champs!

i am going to agree with you. I think rads was an excellent excellent addition from what I have seen so far...his puck handling blows matty's away
