puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted November 18, 2007 Ill give Hasek another chance tommorow. If he redeems himself great, If he flops, ill be pissed if Babs does nothing about it. You need to take drake out right now, its evident that with the cage he dosnt do what he is good at to full effect. Let Downey or Ellis earn some stripes in the mean time. Tommorow's game will be a redemption game for alot of folks, cuz after that i have a feeling Babs is going to do some switching of the line ups and some folks might be in for a world of surprise. I doubt Dom will play tomorrow. I need to figure out a way to watch online, since the Center Ice package I pay big bucks for will most likely not be showing it. Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted November 18, 2007 (edited) I hate to bring this up, but it's a possibility that we might face Chicago in the first-round of the playoffs. And, right now, that's just too much to think about. I'm really not even worried about that. The wings are beating everyone outside of the central division, and the central division is much improved. What does that tell you? The wings weren't putting in as much effort as they needed to to beat the central division teams as they have to play harder than years past. The wings reacted to this tonight, they played a great game today (except Burke's first break-away),and they dominated. There were some bad breaks and like it or not Hasek played s*** and it cost us the game. I'm sure whatever funk the wings are in with the Blackhawks/The Central Division will be done with by the playoffs and we'll be winning in our division as usual, and our goal tending will be worked ouit. If the playoffs were next week I'd be worried, but we have a lot of time yet. Edited November 18, 2007 by Z and D for the C

dgodzina 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2007 Similar feel-good story............. This reminds me of 2003-04 when the Preds beat the Wings the first 3 meetings in the first half of the season. Many were worried that the Preds would have the Wings number the rest of the way. The Wings won the remaining 3 meetings against the Preds in the regular season and knocked them out of the playoffs. Let's hope for a similar scenario this season with the Blackhawks, who have only made the playoffs once since the Preds became a franchise.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted November 18, 2007 (edited) ...this team is in a downward spiral. I hope this team continues it's fall until Kenny is exposed for the fraud he is! What a waste of money on Hasek. Sure give him $1 million that is fine, but $2 millions PLUS $2 million in bonuses, totaling $4 million against our cap!!! I said it when he signed I will continue to say it, WASTE! This team is #1 in the western conference, and you are out of control. Yes, you are overreacting. Want a new team to root for? Try the Coyotes. Dont bring up the ******* cap. If we had 9million dollars in cap, KENNY STILL WOULDNT MAKE A MOVE. Get it through your head that this is our s***ty team till the deadline. This is gonna be hilarious, Dom should be waived/sent to the minors thread's are gonna be crazy until tommorow. Holland's signings in the offseasons between 2001 and 2004 would indicate otherwise. Only in the cap era has he been hesitant to make huge signings in the offseason, and in any event I don't think that his strategy can be called especially unsuccessful. I agree that we will see many hilarious threads tonight from spoiled fans who can't handle it when the team loses a few in a row. Naturally, these are the exact same "fans" who were touting the team's huge successes only a week or two ago. Pathetic, really. Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted November 18, 2007 The only positive out of this game was it being a sellout. Was it really? I kept hearing Ken and Mickey make mentions to it during the broadcast, but it certainly didn't look like a selllout. I thought the San Jose game back in late October was fuller than tonight. As for the game itself: no comment.
Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted November 18, 2007 I think there needs to be a middle ground with regards to Hasek. For those who are bagging him like no tomorrow, yes Hasek is struggling, struggling big time in fact. However one thing is for certain, Hasek won’t stop working until he’s turned his form around. There’s no way he’s leaving the game the way he’s been playing, he will work tirelessly until he finds form. He is a champion goalie who is just enduring a rough patch right now. Right now I, like many others, would rather have Osgood start but come playoff time I have no doubt Hasek will be crucial to our chances. When he’s on song there are few better goalies in the league and his form and fitness are essential to our chances. So all the talk of waiving or demoting Hasek to Grand Rapids is just absurd, it’s only November and I couldn’t care less what his regular season stats look like as long as he’s winning when it matters. Was it really? I kept hearing Ken and Mickey make mentions to it during the broadcast, but it certainly didn't look like a selllout. I thought the San Jose game back in late October was fuller than tonight. The crowd was as quiet as I've ever heard in the 3rd period.

BlackhawksFan 4 Report post Posted November 18, 2007 I'm not sure how the Blackhawks came out with the win tonight. Detroit basically dominated. Especially during the second period, 10 minutes without a whistle. You realized you were down 0-3 in the season series, and you needed a win for the rivalry. (Is this really your greatest rivalry? Because the Hawks have been bad for so many years, I don't see why it should.) Bourque played his best game as a Hawk, Sharp has really been improving, and Khabibulin played phenomenal. The shots were 42-17. But the quality of the shots is another story. Many Detroit shots were not exactly dangerous. But nearly all the Hawks shots were. Dom.....Wow. I have read the debate within this thread, but I subscribe to the theory that the goalie needs to help you out when you need it. E.g., the other end of the ice tonight. I think Dom lost this game for you.... Bah, I didn't even think the Hawks deserved to win the home opener against Detroit and we did.....But hell, we were outplayed and received the bounces. And thanks for the hospitality. I didn't get anything thrown at me. The anthem was...different. No cheering. It was weird. I thought it was a lot quieter than the UC, but that could have been because the Hawks somehow found ways to stay in the game. The Wings should have put this one away through two. And they didn't. So we gave a good 20 and won. Bah. Good luck against Columbus. If Downey plays, I hope he beats up Nash. Apparently he tried to fight Vandermeer with his visor still on, and when it came off he complained to the refs to end the fight. See you all the 6th of January. I'm gonna have to keep an eye on him to see if he pulls that garbage again. And I really would like to see Downey play tonight, but I have a feeling it ain't gonna happen. Each season, Babcock makes some of the most inexplicable lineup choices. Downey's one of 'em this year.

Uh, the clip i saw of this fight showed Nash in there tossing haymakers with Vandermeer. If i was Vandy i'd be the one who's embarrassed that a goal scorer in Nash accounted for himself so well against him. Also, its kind hard to find time to remove your visor when a fight starts spontaneously against the boards as the final horn sounds, there was no square off. The announcers were the ones saying to break it up, when Nash's helmet came off he was still tossing 'em.

I thought the San Jose game back in late October was fuller than tonight. . Yeah it was. My friends and I have been trying to get tickets to yeserdays game for weeks and there was none available. Tried JLA, Hockeytown, and online and they were all sold out. Didn't look like it was a sellout in the fiodrst period, but all the seats started filling near the end and early in the 2nd.
